Kramer DSP-62-AEC Quick Start Guide
This guide helps you install and use your DSP-62-AEC for the first time.

Step 1: Check what's in the box

Step 2: Get to know your DSP-62-AEC
The DSP-62-AEC unit features various input/output ports and controls. Key components include:
Front Panel:
- SETUP DIP-switches: For firmware upgrades (switch 4 ON) or normal operation (switch 4 OFF). Other switches are reserved for future use.
- HDMI IN 1 Button: Press to select HDMI IN 1 input.
- HDMI IN 2 Button: Press to select HDMI IN 2 input.
- AUDIO LEDs: Indicate signal presence (green) or clipping (red). For IN 2-5 with Mic mode, blue light indicates microphone input.
- USB IN/OUT LEDs: Indicate audio source from USB host (IN) or audio sent to USB host (OUT).
Rear Panel:
- AUDIO IN 3.5mm Mini Jack: Connects to an unbalanced audio source.
- USB Type B Bi-Directional Host Port: Connects to an audio source or acceptor.
- HDMI IN 1 Connector: Connects to an HDMI source.
- ON LED: Indicates when the device is powered (green).
- HDMI OUT Connector: Connects to an HDMI acceptor.
- HDMI IN 2 Connector: Connects to an HDMI source.
- AUDIO IN 3-pin Terminal Block Connectors (2 to 5): Connect up to 4 mono balanced audio sources (mono or mic level with selectable 48V phantom power).
- AUDIO OUT 5-pin Terminal Block Connector: Connects to a stereo balanced audio acceptor.
- I/O Terminal Block Connectors (1 to 2): Connect up to two sensors, switches, LEDs, or relays.
- RS-232 (G, Rx, Tx) Terminal Block Connector: Connects to a PC or serial controller.
- ETHERNET RJ-45 Connector: Connects to a PC via LAN.
- RESET Recessed Button: Press and hold during power-on to reset to factory default values, including IP settings.
- 12V DC Power Connector: Connects to the power supply.

Step 3: Mount DSP-62-AEC
Install the DSP-62-AEC using one of the following methods:
- Attach the included rubber feet and place the unit on a flat surface.
- Fasten brackets (included) to each side of the unit and attach it to a flat surface. For details, see www.kramerav.com/downloads/DSP-62-AEC.
- Mount the unit in a rack using a recommended rack adapter. See www.kramerav.com/product/DSP-62-AEC.
- Mount the unit in a Kramer Table-Mount unit. See www.kramerav.com/product/DSP-62-AEC.
Important Considerations:
- Ensure the operating environment (e.g., ambient temperature, air flow) is compatible with the device.
- Avoid uneven mechanical loading.
- Consider equipment nameplate ratings to avoid overloading circuits.
- Maintain reliable earthing for rack-mounted equipment.
- The maximum mounting height for the device is 2 meters.
Step 4: Connect inputs and outputs
Always switch OFF the power on all connected devices before connecting them to your DSP-62-AEC.
Audio Output Connections:
- To a balanced stereo audio acceptor: Connect to the AUDIO OUT terminal block (L+, L-, G, R+, R-).
- To an unbalanced stereo audio acceptor: Connect to the AUDIO OUT terminal block (L+, L-, G, R+, R-).
For specified extension distances, use recommended Kramer cables. Using third-party cables may cause damage!

Step 5: Connect power
Connect the power cord to the DSP-62-AEC and plug it into the mains electricity.

- Caution: For products with relay terminals and GPI/O ports, refer to the permitted rating for external connections next to the terminal or in the User Manual.
- Caution: There are no operator-serviceable parts inside the unit.
- Warning: Use only the supplied power cord.
- Warning: Disconnect power and unplug the unit from the wall before installing.
Step 6: Operate the DSP-62-AEC
The DSP-62-AEC can be operated via:
- Embedded web pages accessed through the Ethernet connection.
- RS-232 serial commands transmitted by a touch screen system, PC, or other serial controller.

Factory Reset
- Recessed Button: Press and hold while powering the device.
- Protocol 3000: Use the "#factory" command.
- Web Pages: Navigate to the Settings page and click Reset.
