IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using an electrical appliance, especially when children are present, basic safety precautions should always be taken, including the following:
1. Read all instructions. 2. Always unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
Allow to cool before cleaning or handling.

12. Oversize foods, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted in the toaster, as they may involve a risk of fire or electric shock.
13. A fire may occur if the toaster is covered or touching flammable materials, such as curtains, draperies or walls, when in operation. Do not operate under wall cabinets.
14. Do not attempt to dislodge food when the toaster is plugged into an electrical outlet.
15. To avoid possibility of fire, do not leave toaster unattended during use.
16. To disconnect, push the Cancel button, then remove plug from wall. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.

17. Do not operate your appliance in an appliance garage or under a wall cabinet. When storing in an appliance garage, always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet. Not doing so could create a risk of fire, especially if the appliance touches the walls of the garage or the door touches the unit as it closes.

SPECIAL CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
If a long extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally. NOTICE: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature, this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Unwind the power cord. Check that the crumb tray is in place and that there is nothing in the toaster slots. Plug power cord into the wall outlet.
REVEAL SCREEN TECHNOLOGY
The control panel becomes invisible when unit is in idle mode making this a statement piece in your kitchen. To select your options, simply touch the icon to wake up your screen and choose how you want to toast!

2. Wake mode Once has been pressed. Default or last used functions will be fully lit (indicating they are selected).

GENERAL OPERATION

1. Insert slice(s) of bread Be sure that the lever is in the up position.

2. Select desired bread options BAGEL, DEFROST, and/or SINGLE.

3. Set the browning level Touch desired shade setting number 16. Shade range is as follows:

4. To begin toasting Press the carriage lever until it locks in the down position and toasting will begin.
5. To stop cycle When the toasting cycle is finished, the toast will be raised. If you wish to stop the cycle before it is finished, simply touch the Cancel or Power button.
6. After use, unplug the toaster from the electrical outlet.

Idle Mode:
· After 5 minutes with no operation, control panel will turn off, leaving only the Power icon.
· The toaster can be manually put into idle mode by pressing the Power control; all icons except Power will turn off.

FUNCTIONS
QuickViewTM The QuickViewTM feature allows you to check on the toasting progress without interrupting the cycle. Simply lift the high-lift lever to temporarily raise and view your bread, and then release lever to automatically lower and continue toasting.
Bagel The Bagel function is designed to toast bagels to perfection by reducing heat on one side of the toasting slot. This toasts the cut side of the bagel slightly more than the other side. Bagel icon will be fully lit when selected and semi-lit when not selected.
A directional icon located on the top of the toaster shows you the correct way to insert your bagel. (The cut side should always face away from the center of the pair of toasting slots.)

+30 Seconds The +30 Secs function allows you to extend the toasting time by 30 seconds.
If selected during toasting cycle:
· The +30 Secs icon will go from semi-lit to fully lit and start flashing. Current shade countdown will be paused. Upon completion of the 30-second cycle, the originally selected browning shade cycle will resume.
If selected after toasting cycle has completed:
· The +30 Secs icon will illuminate and shade setting numbers will disappear. Once the lever is pushed down, the +30 Secs icon will flash until time has elapsed.
NOTE: The +30 Secs function can be used on its own or used with the Bagel and/or Single Slice functions.

Defrost The Defrost function is a longer cycle designed to first defrost and then toast the bread to the desired browning shade. Defrost icon will be fully lit when selected and semi-lit when not selected.
Single Slice The Single Slice function evenly toasts both sides of one slice of bread. The Single icon will be fully lit when selected and semi-lit when not selected.
NOTE: While heating elements for both slots will turn on, they are configured for best results with one slice at a time with this function.

Cancel The Cancel function will stop the toasting process and automatically lift the bread.
Power Power control can be used to:
· Turn on the touchscreen controls.
· Power off the toaster.

TIPS AND HINTS
Notes on Browning Toasting is a combination of cooking and drying of the bread. Therefore, differences in moisture level from one item to another can result in varying toasting times.
· For slightly dry bread, use a lower setting than you normally would.
· For very fresh bread or whole-wheat bread, use a higher setting than normal.
· Breads with very uneven surfaces (such as English muffins) will require a higher toast setting.
· Thickly cut pieces of bread will take longer to toast, sometimes significantly longer, since more moisture must be evaporated from the bread before toasting can occur. Very thick pieces may require two cycles.
· When toasting raisin or other fruit breads, remove any loose raisins, etc., from the surface of the bread before placing into the toaster. This will help prevent fruit pieces from falling into the toaster or sticking on the guide wires in the slots.
· Before toasting bagels, slice into two equal halves.
Frozen Bread, Waffles, Pancakes, French Toast and Bagels Use the Defrost function to defrost and then toast these items.
Simply insert the frozen item, select desired function, select Defrost, select desired browning setting (16) and then press down the lever to start.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Always allow the toaster to cool completely before cleaning.
1. Always unplug the toaster from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
2. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Simply wipe the exterior with a clean, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
3. To remove crumbs, slide out the crumb tray and discard crumbs. Wipe clean and replace. Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray in place.
4. To remove any pieces of bread remaining in the toaster, turn the toaster upside down and gently shake. Never insert any hard or sharp instruments into the slots, as this could damage the toaster and cause a safety hazard.
5. Never wrap the cord around the outside of the toaster. Use the cord storage cleats on the underside of the toaster.
6. Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.

Toaster Pastries Exercise caution with toaster pastries; the filling can become quite hot long before the surface of the pastry becomes browned. Start by using the lightest setting. Never leave toaster pastries unattended while toasting or warming.
For Best Results · Never force foods into the toasting slots. Foods should fit freely between the guide wires.
· Do not place buttered breads in the toaster, as this could create a fire hazard.
· Uneven toasting is usually due to inserting slices of uneven thickness.

We warrant that your Cuisinart® Touchscreen 2-Slice Toaster will be free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal home use for 3 years from the date of original purchase.
We recommend that you visit our website, www.cuisinart.com for a fast, efficient way to complete your product registration. However, product registration does not eliminate the need for the consumer to maintain the original proof of purchase in order to obtain the warranty benefits. In the event that you do not have proof of purchase date, the purchase date for purposes of this warranty will be the date of manufacture.

California law provides that for In-Warranty Service, California residents have the option of returning a nonconforming product (A) to the store where it was purchased or (B) to another retail store that sells Cuisinart products of the same type. USO DE EXTENSIONS

PIEZAS Y CARACTERÍSTICAS
1. Dos ranuras Ranuras de 1½ in. (4 cm) de ancho, para tostar una gran variedad de panes.
2. Palanca elevadora con función QuickViewTM Baje la palanca para empezar a tostar. Levante la palanca en cualquier momento para comprobar el grado de tostado sin interrumpir el ciclo (véase la página 5).
3. Seis grados de tostado Toque un número, de 1 a 6, para elegir el grado de tostado deseado.

4. Ícono BAGEL (panecillo) Función especial para tostar mitades de panecillo. El ícono se iluminará cuando elija esta función.
5. Ícono DEFROST (descongelar) Permite descongelar, y luego tostar los artículos congelados. El ícono se iluminará cuando elija esta función.
6. Ícono SINGLE (una rebanada) Permite tostar solamente una rebanada, tostando el pan uniformemente en cada lado. El ícono se iluminará cuando elija esta función.
7. Ícono +30 SECS Permite tostar un artículo durante solo 30 segundos, o añadir 30 segundos al ciclo de tostado.

ANTES DEL PRIMER USO
Desenrolle y enderece el cable. Cerciórese de que la bandeja recogemigas está en su sitio y de que no hay nada en las ranuras. Enchufe el cable en una toma de corriente.
TECNOLOGÍA DE PANEL DE CONTROL INVISIBLE REVEAL SCREEN
El panel de control se vuelve invisible cuando la unidad está en el modo inactivo, para mayor impacto visual en su cocina. ¡Para empezar, simplemente toque el ícono para despertar la pantalla, y elija sus opciones de tostado!

· Para poner la unidad en el modo de espera manualmente, toque el ícono de encendido/apagado; todos los íconos (excepto el ícono de encendido/apagado) se apagarán.

OPERACIÓN GENERAL

1. Introduzca rebanada(s) de pan en la(s) ranura(s). Cerciórese de que la palanca elevadora está en la posición alta.

5. Para interrumpir el ciclo de tostado El pan subirá automáticamente al final del ciclo de tostado. Si desea interrumpir el ciclo antes del final, simplemente toque el ícono CANCEL o el ícono de encendido/apagado.
6. Desenchufe el aparato después de cada uso.

Modo de espera:
· Después de 5 minutos de inactividad, el panel de control se apagará y solo el ícono de encendido/apagado permanecerá encendido.

FUNCIONES
QuickViewTM (vista rápida)
La función QuickViewTM permite comprobar el grado de tostado sin interrumpir el ciclo de tostado. Simplemente levante la palanca elevadora para ver el pan. Luego, suéltela para reanudar el ciclo de tostado. Nota: la palanca bajará automáticamente.
BAGEL (panecillo) La función "BAGEL" está diseñada para tostar las mitades de panecillo a la perfección, reduciendo el calor emitido por la resistencia exterior de cada ranura y tostando el lado cortado del panecillo ligeramente más que el otro lado. El ícono BAGEL estará iluminado cuando usa esta función, y semiiluminado cuando no la usa.
Un diagrama estampado en la parte superior de la tostadora indica cómo posicionar las mitades de panecillo en las ranuras (el lado cortado siempre debe apuntar hacia el exterior).
DEFROST (descongelar) La función "DEFROST" permite descongelar el pan antes de dorarlo/ tostarlo. El ícono DEFROST estará iluminado cuando usa esta función, y semi-iluminado cuando no la usa.
SINGLE (una rebanada) La función "SINGLE" permite tostar solamente una rebanada, logrando un tostando uniforme en ambos lados. El ícono SINGLE estará iluminado cuando usa esta función, y semi-iluminado cuando no la usa.

+30 SECS (+30 segundos) La función +30 SECS permite añadir 30 segundos al ciclo de tostado.
Si elige esta función durante el ciclo de tostado:
· El ícono +30 SECS se iluminará y empezará a parpadear. El ciclo actual se detendrá, y un ciclo de tostado de 30 segundos se iniciará. Al final del ciclo de 30 segundos, el ciclo original se reanudará.
Si elige esta función al final del ciclo de tostado:
· El ícono +30 SECS se iluminará y los números del grado de tostado desaparecerán. Al bajar la palanca, el ícono +30 SECS parpadeará hasta el final del tiempo.
NOTA: la función +30 SECS puede usarse sola o con las funciones "BAGEL" (panecillo) y "SINGLE" (una rebanada).
CANCEL (cancelar) La función CANCEL interrumpe el ciclo de tostado y levanta automáticamente el pan.
Ícono de encendido/apagado El ícono de encendido/apagado puede usarse para:
· Encender el panel de control táctil
· Apagar la tostadora

NOTA: si bien los elementos calentadores de ambas ranuras se encienden, son configurado para obtener los mejores resultados con una rebanada a la vez con esta función.

CONSEJOS Y SUGERENCIAS
Consejos generales Las tostadoras secan y asan el pan simultáneamente. Por lo tanto, el contenido de humedad del producto (que varía de un producto a otro) afecta el tiempo necesario para tostarlo.
· Si el pan está ligeramente seco, use un ajuste más bajo de lo normal.
· Si el pan está fresco o si tuesta pan de trigo integral, use un ajuste más alto de lo normal.
· Use un ajuste más alto de lo normal para tostar pan con superficie irregular, tales como los "muffins" ingleses.
· Las rebanadas gruesas necesitan más tiempo (a veces mucho más tiempo) para tostarse, debido a su alto contenido de humedad. Las rebanadas muy gruesas pueden requerir hasta dos ciclos de tostado.
