Product Overview & Initial Setup
After receiving the product, please double-check all parts. Contact customer service for any damaged, missing, or incorrect items.
It is recommended to perform the installation after confirming the product is working correctly, ensuring the camera image is properly displayed on the monitor or HD TV.

Important Note for Monitors: If you cannot get any display on your home monitor from the NVR system, ensure you are not connecting an All-in-One Computer or Laptop directly to the NVR Box. The default output resolution of the NVR system may not be compatible with all monitors. Refer to "14. FAQ 12" if the image does not display properly.
Security Recommendation: Change the default password on your monitor screen. Navigate to System setup > System admin > User > Set password. Create a password (max 8 characters) and confirm it. Remember your password.
Safety Notice
- Do not store or use the NVR in hot, humid, dusty, oily, or vibrating environments.
- Place the NVR horizontally in a well-ventilated area, ensuring ventilation holes are not blocked.
- Do not place anything on the NVR and be careful to avoid moisture.
- High ambient temperature and humidity may cause condensation inside the product.
- Use only the indicated power supply voltage. Keep power cords away from heating equipment.
- Clean the device regularly to prevent malfunctions due to dust. Ensure the power is turned off before cleaning.
- Turn off the power when moving the NVR or when it is not in use for an extended period.
- If you notice abnormal conditions such as smoke or odor, stop using the product immediately and turn off the power.

System Components
The OOSSXX HD POE Security System typically includes:
- POE camera (2/4/8/16 units)
- POE 8 Channel Network Video/Audio Recorder (1 unit)
- POE NVR power supply 48V DC (1 unit)
- Ethernet cable for cameras (18.2 meters / 60ft) (2/4/8/16 units)

Installation Settings
3.1 Connect NVR to AC power adapter
The NVR AC power adapter is 48V 2A. Ensure correct power connection. The adapter supports input from AC 110-240V.
3.2 Connect NVR to monitor with HDMI/VGA cable
Note: Do not use a laptop monitor or all-in-one PC as the camera system monitor. A TV or PC monitor is recommended. Use an HDMI cable or a VGA cable to connect the NVR to the monitor. Ensure the TV is set to HDMI mode or VGA mode.
3.3 Connect the mouse to the USB port at the back of NVR
Interface Description:
- WAN port: Connects to the Internet.
- VGA port: Connects to a liquid crystal display.
- HDMI port: Connects to a high-definition TV.
- USB port: Connects to a mouse or USB device.
- NVR power input: 48V 2A.
- RJ45 port: Used for matching code and wired connection between IPC camera and NVR. The POE NVR kit comes with matched codes. For re-matching, refer to section 3.6.

3.4 Log in your account
No password is required for the first-time login. A password can be set after initial system setup.
Password Setup: Navigate to "System Setup" → "System Admin" → "User" → "Set Password" from the main menu. Enter a password (up to 12 digits).
3.5 Connect the camera to the NVR with LAN cable
Cover the camera lens with your hand and check if the infrared LED glows red. If it does not glow red, contact customer service.
3.6 Pair cameras to the system
Cameras are typically paired by the manufacturer. If cameras lose signal or you need to add new cameras, follow these steps:
- Connect the camera to the NVR via an Ethernet cable.
- Right-click on the main interface and select "Video Manage" (enter password if prompted).
- Change the Protocol to "N1" and click "REFRESH".
- When the camera is detected, its information will appear in the top table. Click "Add".
- After successful addition, the camera information will move to the bottom table, showing "CONNECT SUCCESS".
Repeat the process for additional cameras. Once connected, you can mount the cameras.
4. APP Settings
Connect the NVR to your router via an Ethernet cable. Internet access is required for remote access.
4.1 Download
Scan the QR code to download the "Honestview" App, or find it in your app store. Alternatively, use the backup app "Eseecloud".
4.2 Register
Create an account using your email or phone number. A verification code will be sent for login. Eseecloud is compatible with iOS 9.0+ and Android 5.1+.
4.3 Connect POE Surveillance System to APP
Two methods are available:
- (a) Scan QR code: Click the '+' icon in the upper right corner to enter the scan code interface.
- (b) Log in your cloud account: Click the '+' icon, then select 'other ways to add'. Choose 'kit' and enter your Cloud ID (found on the NVR cover or in system network setup). The password is the same as your camera system password.
4.4 APP function description
- [Cloud Service]: Access cloud services.
- [News]: View motion detection notifications.
- [Share]: Grant monitoring permission to others (up to 3 terminals).
- [Play]: Play back recordings saved on the NVR's hard drive (HDD required).
- [Device]: Display all added camera systems.
- [Mail]: Access email.
- [Me]: Manage account information and settings.
- [SD]: Switch between High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD).
- [Sound]: Hear audio from the monitored location.
- [Screenshots]: Save screenshots.
- [Recording]: Record surveillance images on your smartphone.

- [Zoom]: Zoom the screen (PTZ function required).

5. Laptop Settings
5.1 Download CMS EseeCloud
Download the CMS EseeCloud software from www.oossxx.com. Choose the appropriate version for PC (Windows) or Mac.
5.2 Install CMS
Install the CMS software on your computer/laptop/Mac.
5.3 Login to Eseecloud
Use username "admin". The password field can be left blank for the initial login.
5.4 Add your camera system
Click "ADD" to add your camera system.
5.5 Fill in details
Enter the CLOUD ID (found on the NVR monitor), PASSWORD, and NUMBER OF CHANNELS.
5.6 Finish and wait
Click "FINISH" and wait a few minutes for the cameras to be added successfully.
5.7 Playback, Record, and Screenshot
These functions require a hard drive.
6. Email Settings
To configure email notifications:
- Go to System setup > Channel setup > motion detection.
- Select the desired channel and check "Email notice".
- Click "apply" to go to network setup > Email.
Email Setup Configuration:
- Enable E-mail function.
- SMTP Server: smtp.live.com (or smtp.mail.yahoo.com, smtp.gmail.com).
- Port: 25.
- Username: Your mailbox username (e.g., test123@hotmail.com).
- Password: Your email password (less than 10 letters).
- Encryption Type: Usually not needed, but try SSL if testing fails.
- Sender: Your email address (e.g., test123@hotmail.com).
- Sendee: The email address to receive alerts (e.g., dvrtest2015@gmail.com).
- Subject: Default is fine, or customize as needed.
- Interval: Set the time interval for receiving emails.
- Health Mail: Enable to detect NVR input status.
- Health mail interval: Set the interval for sending status messages.
Note: Ensure POP/IMAP is enabled in your email account settings. For Gmail/Yahoo, you may need to set an "App Password" and disable "two-step verification" or enable "less secure app access".
7. HDD Settings
7.1 Auto overwrite settings
Navigate to "System Setup" → "General Setup" → "HDD Setup". Check the "Overwrite" option to automatically overwrite the oldest recorded data when the hard drive capacity is reached.
7.2 Format hard drive
Navigate to "System Setup" → "General Setup" → "HDD Setup". Select the hard drive and click the "Format" button. Warning: All data will be deleted after formatting.
7.3 Optional Hard drive installation
Note: Turn off all power before installation.
- Unplug the NVR from power, remove the top cover.
- Connect the SATA cable and data cables from the NVR to the HDD ports.
- Test HDD functionality: Turn on the NVR (cover off). If the HDD is functional, you will feel vibration. If not, try another HDD.
- Align the HDD with the NVR mounting holes and secure it with screws. Reassemble the cover.
8. Record Settings
8.1 Set up automatic deletion of old files
Go to SYSTEM SETUP, GENERAL SYSTEM, HDD SETUP. Select "CUSTOM" and choose the number of days for recording. (e.g., 4 cameras and 1TB HDD can record about 30 days).
Note: This automatic coverage mode deletes old videos when the disk is full, keeping new recordings. You can also set a custom date for periodic deletion.
8.2 Continuous Recording (24 hours recording)
Select the channel, click the "Time" button, then "Select All", and "Apply". Use "Copy to" for other channels.
8.3 Time Recording (time zone specified recording)
Specify the time zone, select the channel, click "Time", drag to select the date and time zone, and click "Apply". Use "Copy to" for other channels.
8.4 Motion Detection Recording
Select the camera channel, click the "Motion" button, drag to select the date and time zone for motion detection, and click "Apply". Use "Copy to" for other channels.
9. Video Playback
Note: Requires a hard drive.
- From the home video page, click "VIDEO PLAYBACK".
- Select the date, time, and channels to play back.
- Optionally, select "TIME" and "MOTION" playback.
10. Video Backup
Note: Requires a hard drive.
- From the home video page, click "VIDEO BACKUP".
- Select the date, time, and channel for backup, then click "SEARCH".
- Select the videos to back up and click "BACKUP".
- The system will count down for one minute. Quickly unplug the mouse and insert a USB drive. The system will automatically back up videos to the USB.
11. Motion Detection
There are three ways to receive alarm notifications:
- Buzzer: The NVR will sound an alarm, and a triangle icon will appear on the screen.
- Email: A notification email with a screenshot will be sent when motion is detected.
- APP: A notification will be sent to your mobile app when motion is detected.
11.2 Notification Settings
Navigate to "System Setup" → "Channel Setup" → "Video Detection".
- Channel: Select the channel for notification and check "Enable".
- Detection: Select "Motion".
- Check "Email Notice" to receive email notifications for motion detection. Click "Apply".
Note: Ensure notification functions are enabled on your cellphone.
11.3 Function Description
- Buzzer: Activates an audible alarm and visual indicator for motion.
- Email Notice: Sends email alerts with screenshots upon motion detection.
- APP Alarm: Sends app notifications for motion detection.
- Full Screen: Enlarges the alarm camera's view.
11.4 Detection Area Change Settings
Note: The default detection area is the full screen.
To edit the detection area: Go to "System Setup" → "Channel Setup" → "Video Detection" → "Edit Area".
- Right-click "Clear All".
- Drag to specify the detection area.
- Right-click "Return".
- Click "Apply" to save settings.
12. Audio Function Settings
12.1 Audio Function
- Right-click the mouse, select "System Setup".
- Select "Channel Setup", choose a "Channel", configure "Encode Mode" to "AV Stream", and click "Apply".
Notes:
- Avoid installing cameras in noisy environments.
- Select appropriate volume levels for effective sound recording.
- Do not install cameras near noisy machinery.
12.2 Volume Control
Adjust volume via "System Setup" → "General Setup" → "Volume". You can also click the audio marker on the toolbar to turn audio on/off.
Toolbar Description:
- ? Click to turn audio on/off.
- ?️ Slide the mouse to zoom the screen.
- ? Click to turn floodlight on/off (if applicable).
- ⚙️ Control PTZ functions (if applicable).
13. Other Settings
1. Channel Switch
In "Video Manage", select a channel, then use the up/down arrows to switch channels.
2. Screen Flip
In "Video Manage", select a channel, click "Manual Edit", then "Image Rollover", and "OK".
3. Change Resolution
Navigate to "System Setup" → "General Setup" → "Screen Setup" → "VGA Resolution" to change.
4. System Version Information
Go to system setup > system admin > system version.
5. Firmware Upgrade
Contact customer service for firmware upgrades.
6. Restore Factory Settings
Notes:
- Factory configuration resets all NVR settings and recordings.
- Backup important data before resetting.
- Cameras will need to be re-paired after a reset.
- Steps: Right-click main interface, select "System Setup" > "System Admin" > "Factory setting", click "Apply", then "Yes" > "OK".
7. Time Settings
Navigate to "System Setup" → "General Setup" → "Time Setup".
- Internet Connection: Set "Sync Time" to "Enable" to sync time automatically.
- No Internet: Use "Advanced" to set the time manually.
14. Frequently asked questions
- Warranty: One-year warranty for the camera system (cameras and NVR) from the purchase date.
- Password Reset: Email customer service with your Amazon/Walmart order number, full name, and address at info@oossxx.com.
- Adding Cameras: Each NVR supports a maximum of 8 cameras. You can add more if you currently have fewer than 8.
- Monitor Requirement: A monitor (TV or PC monitor) is necessary for initial setup. A VGA or HDMI cable is required for connection.
- Cellphone Notifications: Ensure your cellphone's notification function is not disabled.
- Time Zone: Eastern coast US: -5:00, Western coast US: -8:00.
- HDD Not Found: Ensure the HDD is pre-installed. If not found, unplug and replug the wires connected to the HDD. Check for vibration and flashing lights.
- Internet Requirement: Internet is required for remote access. Connect the NVR to your router via an Ethernet cable.
- Night Vision Issues: If the camera shows reflection from windows at night, move the camera outdoors or adjust the installation angle to avoid reflections from walls.
- High Resolution Issues: If HIGH RESOLUTION causes display problems, go to "SYSTEM SETUP"-"CHANNEL SETUP"-"ENCODE MODE", select the channel, click "RESOLUTION", choose a lower resolution, and click "APPLY".
- Screen Not Appearing: If the NVR displays "No Signal", try connecting with a different HDMI cable or setting the HDTV to VGA mode with a VGA cable. If the issue persists, connect to another monitor with a VGA cable, change the "VGA resolution" to 1024x768 in "System Setup" > "General Setup" > "Screen Setup", and then reconnect to the original monitor. Ensure the TV is set to the correct input mode (HDMI or VGA).
