How to Put Footrest on a Wheelchair

Step 1: Choose and Position Footrest
Choose a footrest to install on the wheelchair. The footrest will go on the side of the wheelchair so that the release lever is to the inside of the wheelchair.

Step 2: Align and Slide Footrest
Line up the holes on the footrest with the pins on the wheelchair. Let the footrest slide down over the pins.

Step 3: Swing Footrest Inward
Swing the footrest toward the inside of the wheelchair.

Step 4: Secure Release Lever
Continue to swing the footrest to the inside of the wheelchair until the release lever locks into place.

Step 5: Repeat for Other Side
Repeat the above steps for the other side of the wheelchair.
