NXP Semiconductors Announces Relocation to New Site in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld

With the decision to relocate NXP's Hamburg site, the company is initiating the beginning of a new chapter in the Hanseatic city.

Relocation Details

After 100 successful years in Lokstedt, NXP is moving to Tasköprüstraße in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. The new building will be precisely tailored to the needs of over 800 employees. In the future, research, development, testing, and marketing in the Automotive, Industrial & IoT sectors, central management functions, and NXP's Hamburg-based competence areas will be under one roof. These include System-on-Chip security, Artificial Intelligence at the Edge, system innovations for automation, robotics, and health, as well as the TeraHertz laboratory for mobile communications and radar technologies in the automotive sector.

In close proximity to Science City Bahrenfeld, NXP is opting for a location that drives the development of the Hanseatic city's high-tech ecosystem.

New Building and Project Development

The new building combines architectural durability with state-of-the-art sustainability criteria and creates a work environment that promotes teamwork, exchange, and proximity in a hybrid world. The project was developed by the Hamburg-based real estate group Captiva, which is transforming the former wholesale market area into a modern corporate headquarters. AUG. PRIEN Projektentwicklung is continuing the project, taking over the construction of the new building and subsequently leasing it to NXP. NXP was supported during the transaction process by CBRE GmbH. The move is planned for early 2031.
