Spanet SmartLink V3 WiFi Controller Quick Install Guide

Step 1: Locate SmartLink module

Position the SmartLink module with the best line of sight to your router. Do not fix the module permanently until app setup is complete and the optimal WiFi signal location is determined. If the spa is in a pit or under a deck, locate the module above ground in a weather-protected area with a clear line of sight to the router. A longer data cable may be required (maximum 10m).

Important Note: The module MUST be oriented vertically with the WiFi logo at the top to ensure adequate signal strength and maintain water protection.

Diagram Description: The diagram shows two scenarios for module placement. The first shows the module placed outdoors with a clear line of sight to a house with a router. The second shows the module placed indoors, potentially in a pit or under a deck, also with a clear line of sight to the router. Red 'X' marks indicate incorrect placement (e.g., module placed horizontally or in a shielded location).

Step 2: Connect data cable

Connect the data cable from the SmartLink module to the spa control EXP1 socket. If the EXP1 socket is already populated, remove the existing cable from EXP1 and connect it to the LOOP socket inside the module. Ensure the data cable from the SmartLink connects directly to the EXP1 socket.

Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates connecting the SmartLink module to the spa control unit via a data cable. It shows the 'EXP1' and 'LOOP' sockets on the spa control unit and the connection point on the SmartLink module.

Step 3: Download Spanet SmartLink app

Download the Spanet SmartLink app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Diagram Description: The diagram displays QR codes for downloading the app from the App Store and Google Play, along with their respective logos.

Step 3: Register and/or login to app

For first-time use or across multiple devices with different accounts: Create an account using the 'Register' option. For additional devices using the same account: Log in with the email and password you registered. Do NOT register another account.

If the app is only to be used on one or more devices sharing the same Apple/Google account, you can use the respective sign-in buttons below (Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google).

Diagram Description: The diagrams show the app's login/registration screen, with options to 'Sign in with Apple', 'Sign in with Google', 'Forgot Password?', and 'Register'.

Step 4: Add spa to user account

A spa can only be set up/accessed on one user account. However, multiple spas can be added to the same user account.

Diagram Description: The diagram shows a mobile phone screen with the app open, displaying options to 'Log out' and 'Select spa to login', with a '+' icon to add a new spa.

Step 5: Select SmartLink V3 model

Select the SmartLink V3 model within the app. You may be prompted to allow Bluetooth access for module setup.

Diagram Description: The diagram shows the SmartLink V3 device and a pop-up message asking for Bluetooth permission to connect to the SpaNET device.

Step 6: Select SV module

Select your SV module to begin scanning for local WiFi networks.

Diagram Description: The diagram shows the app interface displaying the 'SV-Wifi-V3.1' module with its signal strength (-64 dB).

Step 7: Select WiFi network

Select your WiFi network to connect the spa to. If no WiFi network is found, relocate the module to a better position and use the refresh button to conduct a new WiFi scan. Signal strengths closer to 0 are stronger.

Diagram Description: The diagram shows the app interface listing available WiFi networks with their signal strengths, allowing the user to select their network.

Step 8: Enter WiFi password

Enter your router's WiFi password.

Step 9: Enter spa name

Enter a name for your spa. Setup is now complete.

Step 10: Fix module position

Fix the module's position using the adhesive gasket or screw mounts inside the module.

Diagram Description: The diagram shows how to attach the module to a surface using either adhesive or screws, illustrating the final placement of the module.
