B | Mounting Screw | 1 Extra |
Preparation
- Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and remove the existing fixture, including the crossbar.
- Carefully unpack your new fixture and lay out all the parts on a clear area. Be careful not to lose any small parts necessary for installation.
Mounting the Fixture
Refer to Figure 1 for visual guidance.
This diagram illustrates the fixture mounting process. It shows a standard junction box, to which a mounting plate is attached. The fixture's canopy hangs from this plate, concealing the wiring and driver. A cable gripper mechanism within the canopy allows for adjustment of the fixture's wire length. The fixture is secured to the mounting plate using a mounting screw (B).
Instruction: Adjust the fixture wire length by pushing the cable gripper on the canopy and pulling the wire as desired. Retract wires close to a desirable length within the canopy before securing the fixture.
Note: Retracting or extending excessive cable length through the cable gripper is not recommended. Shortening these cables without professional help or electronic background is not advisable, as any modifications may void the warranty.
- Remove the mounting screw (B) and back plate from the fixture.
- Adjust the fixture wire length by pushing the cable gripper on the canopy and pulling the wire as desired.
- Secure the mounting back plate to the junction box using standard junction box screws that come with the junction box. Ensure the side of the mounting plate marked "GND" faces out.
Back Plate Dimensions
45 mm [1 3/4"], Ø106 mm [Ø4 1/8"], Ø117 mm [Ø4 5/8"], 35 mm [1 3/8"]
Connecting the Wires
Refer to Figure 2 for visual guidance.
This diagram shows how to connect the fixture wires to the house wires. Use wire connectors (A) to secure connections. Connect the fixture's ground wire (bare wire) to the house's ground wire (green or bare copper). If no ground wire is present in the outlet box, connect the fixture's ground wire directly to the back plate using the provided green screw. After connecting wires, tuck them carefully inside the junction box. The fixture's driver is designed to be recessed within the junction box; its mounting extensions may be trimmable or foldable for a tighter fit.
- Connect the driver's input wires to the junction box wires as shown in Figure 2, ensuring all wire connectors (A) are secured.
- If your outlet box has a green or bare copper ground wire, connect the fixture's ground wire to it. Otherwise, connect the fixture's ground wire directly to the back plate using the green screw provided.
- After wires are connected, tuck them carefully inside the junction box.
Completing the Installation
- Secure the fixture to the mounting back plate using the mounting screw (B).
Dimming Wiring Information
Refer to Figure 3 for visual guidance.
This diagram outlines the wire color codes for dimming capabilities. The fixture has wires for ELV/TRAIC dimming and 0-10V dimming, as well as standard hot and neutral connections.
- For ELV or TRAIC Dimming: Use Black (Hot), White (Neutral), and Bare Copper Ground wire (Ground).
- For 0-10V Dimming: Use Purple (Dim+), Pink or Gray (Dim-), Black (Hot), White (Neutral), and Bare Copper Ground wire (Ground).
- Fixture Power: Red (Fixture+), Black (Fixture-).
Note: For 0-10V dimming, ensure connections are made prior to powering up the fixture.
This fixture features electronic low voltage (ELV or TRAIC) or 0-10V dimming capabilities.
- To utilize ELV or TRAIC dimming: use wires black (hot), white (neutral) and bare copper ground wire (ground).
- To utilize 0-10V dimming: use wire purple (dim+), Pink or gray (dim-), black (hot), white (neutral) and bare copper ground wire (ground).
Note: Make sure to connect 0-10V prior to power-up the fixture in order to allow the 0-10V dimming to function properly.
