KONTAL ELEKTRONK ROLAN RECEIVERS K003-01/K004-01 1 1. DEFINITION RKA and RKA2 are receivers designed for Rolan model remote controls. The RKA allows control of a device with 1 relay, while the RKA2 provides control with 2 relays, and the RKA4 offers control with 4 relays. 2. Additionally, a Rolan Receiver can only recognize remotes that have the SAME `RECEIVER CODE'. This means you cannot program a remote with a different receiver code to the SAME RECEIVER at the SAME TIME. If you have remotes and receivers with MK product codes (these remotes are usually marked with a scorpion logo on the back), you do not need the LCD Coder. You can directly teach MK-coded Rolan products to your receiver without additional programming. In this case, the automatic learning mode of the receivers is disabled for security reasons. You will need to teach each remote to the receiver using the standard learning method. In this manual, you can see sections about second relay output. These sections are related to model RKA2 and model RKA don't have these specifications. 2.1. TEACHING REMOTES TO ROLAN RECEVERS 1. First of all, if you have a LCD Coder, you must program the remotes using the device. 2. Power up to device correctly. 3. When Rolan receiver powered, you can hear warning sound. If this beeps for, o Three time: there is no remote in Rolan receiver memory. o One time: remotes have been taught to the Rolan receiver before. KONTAL ELEKTRONK ROLAN RECEIVERS K003-01/K004-01 2 4. The receiver board has a single button that performs two functions: it allows you to teach a new remote to the receiver or delete all previously taught remotes. To enter the remote learning mode, press and hold the button for 1-2 seconds, then release it. When the receiver enters learning mode, the buzzer on the receiver board will remain active for approximately 6-7 seconds, during which you will hear a beep from the buzzer. While the buzzer is emitting the sound, press the button on the remote you wish to teach. When the receiver successfully learns the remote, the buzzer will emit 3-4 quick beeps and then stop. If the receiver fails to learn the remote, it will exit the learning mode, and the buzzer will stop emitting sound. 5. If you are teaching a remote to the receiver for the first time, the channel of the taught remote will set the system's operating channel. All subsequent remotes must have the same channel as the system's operating channel. In summary, you can only program remotes with the SAME channel to a single receiver. 6. For 2-channel and 4-channel receivers, the channel of the remote you have taught will activate the receiver's 1st relay. Subsequent remote channels will automatically activate the other relays. For example, if you have taught the 1st button of a 4-channel remote to the receiver system, the 1st channel of the remote will control the receiver's 1st relay. The 2nd button of the remote will control the receiver's 2nd relay, the 3rd button will control the 3rd relay, and the 4th button will control the 4th relay. There is no need to specifically teach these channels to the receiver. The control board will automatically recognize these channels. 2.2. DELETING MEMORY OF ROLAN RECEIVER 1. Disconnect the power supply from the receiver board. 2. While the power is disconnected, press and hold the button on the receiver board, and keep your finger on the button. 3. With your finger still on the button, reconnect the power to the receiver board. When the receiver board powers up, you will start hearing a beep from the buzzer. Continue holding the button until the beep sound stops. Once the beep stops, any remotes previously taught to the receiver will be erased from the control board's memory.
