Getting Started

This section describes the basic operation and setup of the Cardo PACKTALK OUTDOOR device.

Device Overview

The device features a Control Wheel for navigation and selection, an LED indicator light, a Mute button, an ON/OFF button, and a Media button.

Control Wheel: Used for scrolling through menus and adjusting settings.
LED: Indicates device status (e.g., pairing, power).
Mute Button: Silences the microphone or controls intercom functions.
ON/OFF Button: Powers the device on or off.
Media Button: Controls audio playback.

Powering On/Off

To Power On: Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds. The LED will light up.
To Power Off: Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds. The LED will turn off.

Phone Pairing

Initiate Pairing: Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds. The LED will flash red and blue.
On your phone: Search for "PACKTALK OUTDOOR" via Bluetooth and connect.
To Stop Pairing: Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 1 second. The LED will flash red.

Cardo Connect App

The Cardo Connect App enhances the functionality of your PACKTALK OUTDOOR device.

Download and Installation

Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Registration

Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create an account or sign in.

Language Settings

Within the app's settings, you can select the unit language, e.g., English, German, or Italian.

Software Updates

The app allows you to update the software on your PACKTALK OUTDOOR device to ensure you have the latest features and improvements.

General Operations

Control various functions using the device's buttons and the control wheel.

Volume Up: Rotate the Control Wheel forward (clockwise).
Volume Down: Rotate the Control Wheel backward (counter-clockwise).
Mute Audio: Press the Mute button once. The LED may indicate muted status.
Unmute Audio: Press the Mute button again.
Fast Roll: Rapidly rotating the Control Wheel allows for quicker volume adjustment.

Voice Assistant

Activate your preferred voice assistant (Siri or Google Assistant).

To Activate: Press and hold the Control Wheel for 1 second.
Speak your command: e.g., "? Hey Siri", "? OK Google", or "? Hey Google".

Music Control

Manage your music playback directly from the device.

Play/Pause Music: Tap the Control Wheel once.
Next Track: Tap the Control Wheel once while music is playing.
Previous Track: Tap the Control Wheel twice.

Phone Calls

Handle incoming and outgoing calls.

Answer Call: Tap the Control Wheel once.
Ignore Call: Press and hold the Control Wheel for 2 seconds.
End Call: Tap the Control Wheel once during an active call.

Speed Dial

Set Speed Dial Numbers: Use the Cardo Connect App to configure speed dial contacts.
Call Speed Dial: Press and hold the Control Wheel for 3 seconds.

DMC Intercom

Connect and communicate with other riders using Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC).

Grouping

Initiate Grouping: Press and hold the Control Wheel for 2 seconds. The LED will flash red and green.
Grouping Success: The LED will turn purple upon successful grouping.

Microphone Control

Mute Microphone: Tap the Mute button once.
Unmute Microphone: Tap the Mute button again.

DMC Intercom On/Off

Turn DMC Intercom ON: Tap the Mute button twice.
Turn DMC Intercom OFF: Tap the Mute button twice again.

Reset Functions

Troubleshoot or reset your device.

Reboot Device: Press and hold the Control Wheel for 10 seconds.
Factory Reset: Press and hold the Control Wheel for 5 seconds. This will restore the device to its original factory settings.

Control your PACKTALK OUTDOOR with voice commands.

General Commands

Answer Call: "Hey Cardo, answer"
Ignore Call: "Hey Cardo, ignore"
Redial Last Number: "Hey Cardo, redial number"
Speed Dial: "Hey Cardo, speed dial"

Music Commands

Play Music: "Hey Cardo, music on"
Pause Music: "Hey Cardo, music off"
Next Track: "Hey Cardo, next track"
Previous Track: "Hey Cardo, previous track"

Voice Assistant Commands

Activate Siri: "? Hey Siri"
Activate Google Assistant: "? OK Google" or "? Hey Google"

Volume and Audio Commands

Volume Up: "Hey Cardo, volume up"
Volume Down: "Hey Cardo, volume down"
Mute Audio: "Hey Cardo, mute audio"
Unmute Audio: "Hey Cardo, unmute audio"
Mute Microphone: "Hey Cardo, mute microphone"
Unmute Microphone: "Hey Cardo, unmute microphone"

Status Commands

Check Battery: "Hey Cardo, battery status"
