General Power Tool Safety Warnings

Work Area Safety:
- Keep work area clean and well lit.
- Do not operate in explosive atmospheres (flammable liquids, gases, dust).
- Keep children and bystanders away.
Electrical Safety:
- Charger plugs must match the outlet.
- Avoid contact with earthed surfaces.
- Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
- Do not abuse charger cords. Keep cords away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts.
- Use outdoor-suitable extension cords when operating outdoors.
- Use an RCD-protected supply in damp locations.
Personal Safety:
- Stay alert, use common sense. Do not use when tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE): eye protection, dust mask, safety shoes, hard hat, hearing protection.
- Prevent unintentional starting: ensure the switch is OFF before connecting to power or battery, picking up, or carrying the tool.
- Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the tool on.
- Do not overreach; maintain proper footing and balance.
- Dress properly: avoid loose clothing, jewelry. Keep hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts.
- Ensure dust extraction and collection facilities are connected and used properly.
- Do not let familiarity lead to complacency; follow safety principles.
Power Tool Use and Care:
- Do not force the tool; use the correct tool for the application.
- Do not use if the switch does not operate correctly.
- Disconnect the battery pack before making adjustments, changing accessories, or storing.
- Store idle tools out of reach of children and unfamiliar users.
- Maintain tools: check for misalignment, binding, breakage. Repair if damaged.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
- Use tools and accessories according to instructions and working conditions.
- Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
Battery Tool Use and Care:
- Recharge only with the specified charger.
- Use only designated battery packs.
- Keep battery packs away from metal objects when not in use to prevent short-circuiting.
- Avoid contact with battery liquid; flush with water if contact occurs. Seek medical help if liquid contacts eyes.
- Do not use damaged or modified battery packs or tools.
- Do not expose battery packs or tools to fire or excessive temperatures (above 130°C / 265°F).
- Follow charging instructions and do not charge outside specified temperature ranges.
- Charger supply cords cannot be repaired; scrap if damaged.
Service:
- Have power tools serviced by qualified repair persons using identical replacement parts.
- Never service damaged battery packs.
Additional Safety Warnings for Multitools:
- Be aware of dust hazards (lead paint, wood, metal) and wear appropriate PPE (dust mask) and use dust extraction.
- Do not work with asbestos-containing materials.
- Do not work metal with magnesium content over 80%.
- Be careful when working painted surfaces.
- Use only manufacturer-recommended accessories.
- Inspect tools and accessories before use. Replace worn or damaged ones.
- Ensure accessories are suitable for the application and have correct dimensions.
- Do not use accessories requiring liquid coolants.
- Ensure accessories are properly mounted.
- Ensure accessory maximum speed is equal to or greater than the machine's maximum speed.
- Run the machine at no load after mounting accessories. If vibration is strong, switch off immediately.

- Keep mains cable away from rotating accessories.
- Hold machine by insulated gripping surfaces to avoid contact with hidden wiring or mains cable.
- Do not use the machine while carrying it at your side.

- Be aware that accessories continue to rotate briefly after switching off.
- Never put the machine down before it has been switched off.
- Regularly clean ventilation slots.

Battery and Charger Information
Only use the following batteries of the LX system 20V battery platform. Using other batteries may cause injury or damage.
- CDA1180: 20V, 2Ah Lithium-Ion
- CDA1181: 20V, 4Ah Lithium-Ion
The following chargers can be used:
- CDA1181: Charger adapter
- CDA1182: Quick charger
LX system 20V batteries are interchangeable with all Bruksbo LX system tools.
Vibration Level
The stated vibration emission level was measured according to EN 62841. It can be used for tool comparison and preliminary exposure assessment. Using the tool for different applications or with poorly maintained accessories may increase exposure. Times when the tool is off or not actively working may reduce exposure. Protect yourself by maintaining the tool and accessories, keeping hands warm, and organizing work patterns.
Assembly
⚠️ Before any work, remove the battery. Battery must be charged before first use.
Inserting the battery (Fig. D)
Ensure the battery exterior is clean and dry before connecting.
- Insert battery (5) into the machine base as shown in Fig. D.
- Push battery forward until it clicks into place.
Removing the battery (Fig. D)
- Push the battery unlock button (6).
- Pull battery out as shown in Fig. D.
Removing and Mounting Accessories (Fig. B)
⚠️ Worn or damaged accessories must be replaced immediately. Use only sharp and undamaged accessories.
- Release quick change lever (4) and slide accessory forward to remove.
- Slide accessory into holder and fasten quick change lever (4).
Sanding pad and paper must be used for sanding.
Mounting the Dust Extraction (Fig. C)
The dust extraction piece connects to a vacuum cleaner for sanding, keeping your work area cleaner.
⚠️ The dust extraction adapter can only be used with the sanding pad (8).
To install the dust extraction adapter:
- If not done, remove accessories from the machine.
- Assemble dust extraction adapter (7) as shown in Fig. C.
- Mount adapter (7) by tightening the screw.
- Assemble sanding pad as instructed previously.
- Connect a vacuum cleaner to the adapter.
Operation
Switching On and Off (Fig. A)
- To switch on, slide the on/off switch (1) forward.
- To switch off, slide the on/off switch (1) rearward.
Hints for Optimum Use
- Clamp the workpiece. Use a clamping device for small workpieces.
- Draw a line to define the direction of accessory movement.
- Hold the machine firmly by the grip.
- Switch on the machine.
- Wait for full speed.
- Place the accessory on the workpiece.
- Slowly move the machine along the line, pressing the accessory against the workpiece.
- Do not apply excessive pressure; let the machine work.
- Switch off the machine and wait for it to stop completely before setting it down.
Setting the Speed (Fig. A)
The speed adjustment wheel (9) sets the speed, with 6 positions available. Ideal speed depends on application and material.
⚠️ Do not set speed during use.
Turn speed adjustment wheel (9) to the desired position.
Maintenance
⚠️ Before cleaning/maintenance, switch off the machine and remove the battery pack.
Clean machine casings regularly with a soft cloth. Ensure ventilation openings are free of dust and dirt. Use a soft cloth moistened with soapy water for stubborn dirt. Do not use solvents (gasoline, alcohol, ammonia) as they can damage synthetic components.
Environment
Faulty or discarded electrical/electronic apparatus must be collected at appropriate recycling locations.
Only for EU countries: Do not dispose of power tools in domestic waste. Follow European Guideline 2012/19/EC for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.
Warranty
Rusta products are developed to high quality standards and are guaranteed free of material and workmanship defects for the legally stipulated period from the date of original purchase. Contact your Rusta dealer for any failures due to defective material or workmanship.
Exclusions from warranty:
- Repairs or alterations made or attempted.
- Normal wear and tear.
- Abuse, misuse, or improper maintenance.
- Errors resulting from not following the user manual.
This is the sole warranty. Rusta is not liable for incidental or consequential damages. Dealer remedies are limited to repair or replacement.

Right of Complaint
Product must be returned to the place of purchase with the original receipt. User is liable for damage caused by improper use or failure to follow the manual. Right of complaint may not apply in such cases.
