Unlike traditional shape sorters, the Shape Talker + Switch adds an audio reward. Record your custom message that will play when the shapes are correctly matched and pressed into the base (e.g. "Yay! You matched the green triangle!"). Substitute the shape blocks for the included colored discs to use the device in finger isolation exercises. And it's a switch, too, for any switch-adapted toy. Plug in the toy and press any of the four shapes to activate it. The versatile Shape Talker + Switch can meet the needs of multiple students and be used as reinforcement at home. The Shape Talker + Switch is four products in one: Shape sorter Color recognition tool Four message communicator Capability switch Includes study base with non-slip feet, four colored shape blocks, four colored shape discs, and four white shape discs. Size: 6"L x 5"W x 2½"H. Requires 4 AAA Batteries. Weight: 1½ lb. Operation: 1. Carefully turn over unit to reveal battery compartment. Observing polarity, install four AAA Alkaline batteries (e.g. Duracell or Energizer Brand) only (Not included) into the holder. Do not use rechargeable or any non alkaline type batteries as they will not work in this device. 2. The microphone and red "RECORD" button are located on the SIDE panel of the unit. To record, depress and hold the "RECORD" button, then depress one of the 4 recess shapes plates and speak into the microphone. Release both once recording is finished. Playback your message by pressing and releasing the same shape used to record. Each of the remaining shapes can be "programmed" in the same manner. (The unit will retain recorded information indefinitely, even if the battery is disconnected. Previously stored information will be erased only when a new recording is performed.) 3. Playback volume can be adjusted using the control provided on the side panel of the unit, next to the "RECORD" button. 4.
