Thank you for purchasing a NAVITEL® product. The NAVITEL DR500 NV is a multifunctional video recorder with high-quality video and photo recording, a road camera warning function, and many additional features described in this User Manual. Please read the manual carefully before using the device and keep it for future reference.
Device Appearance
The Navitel DR500 NV dashcam is a compact black device featuring a prominent camera lens with a blue coating. Below the lens are ventilation grilles. The device displays the "NAVITEL" logo. Text on the device indicates "DR500 NV", "Video Recorder", and "Full HD Night Vision".

Installation
- Insert a microSD card into the corresponding slot. Use a high-speed card (Class 10 or higher) with a capacity of 8-64 GB. Warning: Do not insert or remove the card while the device is operating to avoid damage to the device or memory card. Formatting the memory card in the video recorder is mandatory before recording to prevent data read/write errors. In the Menu, select "Format SD card" and confirm the action.
- Mount the video recorder on the windshield using the mount.
- Connect the charger to the cigarette lighter socket.
- Connect the charger to the device's mini-USB port.
- Adjust the position of the video recorder.
- Turn on the power. Ensure the video recorder is installed correctly. If installed correctly, the red indicator will light up. The video recorder will turn on and start recording (the blue indicator will blink).
Precautions
- Use only the original charger adapter. Using a different adapter may negatively affect the device's battery.
- Use only manufacturer-approved accessories.
- The permissible ambient temperature during operation is from 0 to +35 °C. Storage temperature is from +5 to +45 °C. Relative humidity is from 5% to 90% without condensation (at 25 °C).
- Avoid contact with fire sources to prevent explosion or fire.
- Do not subject the device to strong mechanical impact.
- Avoid contact of the device with sources of electromagnetic radiation.
- Keep the lens clean. Do not use chemical or cleaning agents for cleaning the device; always turn off the device before cleaning.
- Strictly follow the laws and regulations of the region where the device is used. This device cannot be used for illegal purposes.
- Do not disassemble the device yourself. In case of malfunction, contact a service center.

Power On/Off | Short press to turn on the device. Long press for 3 seconds to turn off the device. In Recording (STBY) mode, short press to switch between Video Recording, Photo Shooting, Video Playback, and Photo Playback modes. In Recording (REC) mode, short press to lock/unlock a file (a protected file cannot be deleted or overwritten). In Menu, short press to select the next menu item. |
OK | In Recording (STBY) mode, press to start recording. Press again to stop recording. In Photo Shooting mode, press to take a picture. It will be saved automatically. In Video Playback mode, press to select a file or pause/resume playback. In Photo Playback mode, press to select a file. In Menu, press to select a menu item. |

Reset | If the device is unresponsive, press to reset. |
Note: The built-in battery is intended only for recording emergency events in parking mode and for proper device shutdown when power is disconnected; continuous power connection is required for full device operation in any mode.
Device Functions
Function | Description |

Format Memory Card | Formatting the memory card in the video recorder is strictly required for correct device operation. Formatting is required before using the memory card for the first time, and also when recording or reading errors occur. In the Menu, select "Format SD card" and confirm the action. |
Video Recording | When connected to a power source, the device will turn on and start recording automatically (the blue indicator will blink). Press OK to stop recording (the blue indicator will be solid). Press OK again to record new video. Each video is saved automatically. |
Photo Shooting | In Recording (STBY) mode, press the Power On/Off button to enter Photo Shooting mode, then press OK to take a picture. It will be saved automatically. |
Video Playback | In Recording (STBY) mode, double-press the Power On/Off button to enter Video Playback mode. Select a file using the Up and Down buttons, then press OK to play the file. You can pause/resume playback by pressing the OK button, and fast forward/rewind using the Up/Down buttons. |
Photo Playback | In Photo Shooting mode, double-press the Power On/Off button to enter Photo Playback mode. Select a file using the Up/Down buttons, then press OK to view the file. |
Loop Recording | This function allows saving video recordings in separate segments every few minutes. For example, a 5-minute duration recording will be saved as 12 five-minute segments. If the card runs out of space, unlocked files will be overwritten in the order they were created. |
Audio Recording | Record video with or without sound. |
Additional Functions

File Protection | In Recording (REC) mode, press Power On/Off to protect the current recording. In Video Playback / Photo Playback mode, select a file, press the Menu button, select "Protect", then "Protect this file" or "Protect all files". Protected files cannot be deleted or overwritten. To unprotect, select "Unprotect this file" or "Unprotect all files". |
Timestamp | Enter a date stamp that will be added to video recordings. |
Display Off | The device can automatically turn off the screen to reduce power consumption. In the settings menu, you can select the time interval for automatic screen shutdown. |
G-sensor (Impact Sensor) | In case of a collision, the device automatically protects the current recording. |
Parking Mode | If the device is off and detects vibration, it will automatically turn on and start recording. |
Motion Detection | The device automatically starts recording when a moving object is detected. If the object stops moving for 5/10/30/60 seconds, recording will stop. |
Battery Charging | When the device is connected to an external power source, the red indicator will light up. As the battery charges, the red light will dim. When the battery is fully charged, the red indicator will turn off. |
Storage, Transportation, Handling, and Disposal Rules
- Storage and transportation of the device must be carried out in a dry room. Handle the device with care, protect it from dust, dirt, impacts, moisture, fire, etc.
- Device handling must be carried out in accordance with the current legislation of the Russian Federation.
- After the end of its service life, the device must be handed over for disposal to an appropriate collection point for electrical and electronic equipment for subsequent processing and disposal in accordance with federal or local legislation.
