Troubleshooting

Problem Remedy
The dehumidifier does not start
  • Make sure the dehumidifier is connected to the socket and the fuse has not blown.
  • If the tank full symbol (8) is lit, check that the water tank is empty and correctly seated. Ensure the float hangs freely.
  • Wake up the control panel to check the humidity value. The dehumidifier should start within 5 minutes if the current humidity is higher than the set value.
  • Unplug the power cord, wait 10 seconds, and reconnect it.
The dehumidifier does not start
  • Ensure the fan wheel is spinning.
  • Make sure air can flow freely through the dehumidifier. Air outlets and filters must be clean, and the unit should be at least 20-30 cm from walls.
  • Listen for the compressor. Note that it may stop during a defrosting cycle. Wait about 30 minutes.
  • Check for a thick layer of ice on the cooling coils/slats behind the filter.
High noise level/rattling
  • Increase the distance between the dehumidifier and surrounding surfaces.
  • The cooling coils might be touching, causing vibrations. Disconnect the unit from the electrical outlet and separate the coils.
No condensate water collected
  • Check the drip tray under the cooling coils for dirt; clean if necessary.
  • Ensure the temperature is above 2°C or below 35°C.
Does not shut off when water tank is full.
  • It is crucial that the float hangs freely in the water tank. If it does not, it cannot sense the water level correctly and may not shut off the appliance.
Error code E2
  • If E2 is displayed, the humidity sensor may be defective. Try unplugging the power cord, waiting 10 seconds, and reconnecting it. If the error code persists, contact your dealer.

If you encounter problems with your dehumidifier, refer to this troubleshooting guide. If none of the above solutions work, contact your dealer for service.

Using Wood's Dehumidifiers

Wood's: The World's Leading Dehumidifiers

Wood's dehumidifier products are recognized market leaders, designed for demanding climates with effective dehumidification even at lower temperatures and humidity levels. They are suitable for damp premises like basements, garages, and summer houses, and are also effective for drying laundry, in pool areas, and laundry rooms. They are efficient and consume low energy.

The amount of moisture removed depends on temperature, humidity, and placement. Outdoor weather also affects performance; colder weather reduces indoor relative humidity, thus decreasing moisture absorption. The dehumidifier is adapted for temperatures between +2°C and +35°C. Wood's dehumidifiers are safe and designed for continuous operation over many years.

Excessive Air Humidity - A Danger

Condensation occurs when water vapor contacts a cold surface, forming water droplets. High humidity can lead to stale air, mold growth, damage to the house and its interior, and health issues for inhabitants (e.g., mites). A high-performance dehumidifier creates a healthy moisture level. For best results, keep doors and windows closed in the area being dehumidified. The dehumidifier removes odors, dries wood, and moisture from sports equipment.

Dehumidifiers can be used in basements, laundry rooms, garages, caravans, summer cottages, and boats. For use in colder environments, consult the hints section.

Important: If placed in a shower or bathing area, the dehumidifier must be fixed in place. Local bathroom electrical regulations must be checked and followed before use.

Using Wood's Dehumidifiers

If transported horizontally, leave the dehumidifier standing upright for 4 hours before use to allow oil to return to the compressor, preventing serious damage. Wood's dehumidifiers are easy to move due to wheels. Ensure proximity to a 220-240V electrical outlet, keeping the following in mind:

  1. Check that the water tank is correctly positioned.
  2. Connect the dehumidifier to a grounded electrical outlet.
  3. Select the desired humidity program or level using the control panel (refer to Function Description).

Note: When the dehumidifier switches off, it takes 5 minutes before it restarts.

Float

The float is a white plastic cylinder suspended by wires. It rises with the water level. When it reaches a certain height, the dehumidifier detects it and automatically shuts off to prevent flooding. To re-insert the float after emptying the tank:

Emptying Water Containers

  1. When the tank is full, gently pull it outwards and empty it into a drain.
  2. Push the water container back in until it touches the float.
  3. Lift the bottom edge of the water tank slightly to incline it.
  4. Push the water tank in the final distance. The float should now be inside the water tank, not clamped behind it.

Note: It is important that the float hangs freely to correctly detect the water level and ensure the dehumidifier shuts off. An incorrectly positioned float can cause the tank to overflow.

Drain the Water to the Sewer

  1. Disconnect the dehumidifier from the electrical outlet and remove the water tank to access the threaded connection under the drip tray.
  2. Attach the hose coupling to the threaded connector and run the hose to the drain. Ensure the hose is positioned lower than the drip tray.
  3. Insert the dehumidifier plug into the socket.

Without hose and directly over the drain: Place the dehumidifier directly over the drain so condensed water drips through the bottom hole into the drain.

Automatic Shutdown

When the water tank is full, the dehumidifier shuts off automatically, indicating the tank needs emptying. Refer to the function description.

  1. Disconnect the dehumidifier from the electrical outlet.
  2. Empty the water tank.
  3. Replace the emptied tank, ensuring the float hangs free (see Float section).
  4. Connect the dehumidifier to the electrical outlet. It will restart in the same mode as when disconnected.

Air Filter

The air filter on the back prevents dust from reaching the cooling coils, ensuring efficient airflow. The filter should be replaced when needed. The dehumidifier uses an SMF filter that improves capacity and purifies air. Refer to instructions for changing the air filter. Replacement at least once a year is recommended. Register your dehumidifier at warranty-woods.com for the warranty program.

Automatic Defrost

Wood's dehumidifiers have a control system that defrosts cooling coils when necessary. The compressor switches off, stopping cooling, while the fan draws room air through the unit to melt ice. Water flows into the tank. This system allows operation at temperatures as low as +2°C.

Fan

The fan ensures airflow through the dehumidifier. Moist air is drawn in from the back, passes through the evaporator and condenser, and is released dry from the top.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and filter replacement are essential for maintaining high dehumidification capacity.

Note: Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
