4 Preparation
Tips for energy saving
- Wipe away coarse food remnants from dishes before loading.
- Operate the product only when it is completely full.
- Consider the "Programme data and average consumption values" table when selecting a programme.
- Do not use more detergent than recommended on the packaging.
Water softening system
The product has a water softening system to reduce water hardness, ensuring optimal washing quality. [info] Mains water hardness above 7°dH must be softened; otherwise, hardness ions can accumulate on dishes and affect washing, rinsing, and drying performance.
Adjusting the water softening system
Proper adjustment improves cleaning, rinsing, and drying performance. Adjust the water hardness level according to the instructions. Use the provided test strip to determine your water hardness level.
Test Strip Procedure:
- Remove the test strip from the packet.
- Turn on the tap and let water run for about a minute.
- Hold the test strip in the water for a second.
- Remove and shake the test strip.
- Wait 1 minute; the strip will show the hardness level.
Setting Water Hardness:
- After turning on the machine, press and hold the Time Delay and Start/Pause/Cancel keys.
- Use the Time Delay key to turn on LEDs corresponding to the hardness level (e.g., 9 and 3 LEDs for a specific level).
- Use function keys to adjust the water hardness level.

Hardness Level | English Water Hardness (°dE) | German Water Hardness (°dH) | French* Water Hardness (°dF) | Water Hardness Level Indicator |
---|---|---|---|---|
Level 0 | 0-5 | 0-4 | 0-8 | 1st programme LED turns on. |
Level 1 | 6-9 | 5-7 | 9-13 | |
Level 2 | 10-15 | 8-12 | 14-22 | 2nd programme LED turns on. |
Level 3 | 16-19 | 13-15 | 23-27 | 3rd programme LED turns on. |
Level 4 | 20-24 | 16-19 | 28-34 | 4th programme LED turns on. |
Level 5 | 25-62 | 20-50 | 35-90 | 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th programme LEDs turn on. |
For optimal glassware protection against glass corrosion, set the regeneration adjustment switch to match the control panel hardness setting (e.g., '3rd level' on the panel means '3rd level' on the switch).
Adding salt
The water softening system requires regeneration using dishwasher salt for continuous performance.
[info] Use only special softening salts designed for dishwashers.
[info] Recommended salts are granule or powder-formed. Do not use table salt or rock salt, as they may not dissolve completely and can degrade system performance.
[info] The salt reservoir fills with water when the product starts. Add salt before operating the machine.
- Remove the lower basket to access the salt reservoir.
- Turn the salt reservoir lid counter-clockwise to open it.
- Add 1 litre of water to the salt reservoir for initial use only.
- Fill the salt reservoir with salt using the funnel. Stir with a spoon to speed up dissolution.
[info] Approximately 2 kg of softening salt can be added.
5. Replace and tighten the lid when the reservoir is full.
[info] Add salt just before starting the machine to flush out any salty water, preventing corrosion. If not washing immediately, run an empty cycle.
[info] Salt indicator may remain on for a while after adding salt due to varying salt particle sizes and water hardness, affecting dissolution time.
Detergent
You can use powder, liquid/gel, or tablet detergents.
[warning] Only use detergents specifically made for dishwashers. Avoid detergents with chlorine and phosphate as they are harmful to the environment.
[warning] Do not put solvents into the detergent dispenser; this poses an explosion risk.
Adding detergent
[info] Follow detergent packaging warnings for best results. Contact the manufacturer for questions.
Add detergent just before operating the machine:
- Push the latch to the right to open the detergent dispenser lid.
- Add the suggested amount of powder, liquid/gel, or tablet detergent.

3. Push the lid to close it until it clicks.
Tablet detergents
Some detergent tablets include water softening and rinse aid effects, and may contain glass and stainless steel protectors. These are effective up to a certain water hardness (21°dH). If water hardness is higher, use separate salt and rinse aid.
[info] Best washing performance is achieved by using detergent, rinse aid, and water softening salt individually.
[info] For short programmes without prewash, use powder or liquid/gel detergent, as tablet solubility varies with temperature and time.
[info] Observe detergent manufacturer instructions for tablet use. Contact them if dishes are wet or have limescale spots after washing.
Rinse aid
Rinse aid improves drying efficiency and prevents water or lime stains. Ensure the rinse aid reservoir is filled and use only dishwasher-specific rinse aids.
- Open the rinse aid reservoir lid using the latch.
- Fill the reservoir to the "MAX" level.
- Press point (B) on the lid to close it.
If stains or blue traces appear on tableware after washing, adjust the rinse aid level (factory default is position 3). The rinse aid adjustment is detailed in the "Adjusting the amount of rinse aid" section.
