Screen/Aspect Ratio

4:3, 16:9, and 16:10 screens are fully supported with proper aspect ratio control for both types of sources using NEC-developed scaling technology. Menu selections offer settings for each screen type and aspect ratio control for each source type.

Notes on Screen Sizes and Distances:

Formulas for 16:9 Aspect Ratio (UHD)

The Projection Formulas calculate throw distance based on image width. Image width is consistent across all aspect ratios, while vertical image size varies. For optimal projector placement, determine the required image width for your desired screen size. Use the Screen Formulas to calculate all screen dimensions. Input the image width as "W" into the Projection Formulas.

Refer to diagrams and charts for popular screen sizes on pages 2 and 3.

Lens Shift Adjustable Range

Diagram illustrating the lens shift range for desktop and ceiling mount applications. It shows the projected image width (W) and height (H) and the allowable shift area (e.g., 50%V, 100%V, 30%V, 10%H, 20%H).

Lens Shift Range for Desktop and Ceiling Mount Application:

The diagram shows the location of the image position within the lens. The lens can be shifted within the shaded area, using the normal projection position as a starting point.

Note: Lens shift feature is not available with NP16FL-4K (rear lens). NP16FL-4K should be used only for "zero degree" / "no-offset" applications.

Note: The projector is set out of the box at maximum lens shift, as depicted above.
