Safety and product information

FOR YOUR SAFETY

Read these basic guidelines. Failure to pay attention to these rules may pose a danger or be against local laws and regulations. For additional information, read the user manual in its entirety.

TURN OFF THE DEVICE IN RESTRICTED AREAS

Turn off the device when the use of mobile devices is prohibited or when there is a possibility of danger or interference. For example, when on board an aircraft, in hospitals, or near medical equipment, fuels, chemicals, or blasting areas. Respect all instructions in restricted areas.

DRIVING SAFETY FIRST

Obey all applicable local laws. Always keep your hands free to operate the vehicle while driving. When driving, driving safety should always be your first concern.

INTERFERENCE

Wireless devices may be subject to interference that can affect their operation.

AUTHORIZED SERVICE

Only authorized technicians can install or repair this product.

BATTERIES, CHARGERS, AND OTHER ACCESSORIES

Use only batteries, chargers, and other accessories approved by HMD Global Oy for use with this device. Do not connect incompatible products.

KEEP THE DEVICE DRY

If the device is water-resistant, consult the IP rating in the device's technical specifications for more detailed guidance.

PROTECT YOUR HEARING

To avoid hearing damage, do not expose yourself to very high volume levels for prolonged periods. Be careful when holding the device close to your ear when the loudspeaker is in use.

Some wireless devices may interfere with some hearing aids.

PROTECT YOUR DEVICE FROM HARMFUL CONTENT

Your device may be exposed to viruses and other harmful content. Take the following precautions:

VEHICLES

Radio signals can affect incorrectly installed or isolated electronic systems in vehicles. For more information, consult the vehicle manufacturer or its equipment. Only authorized service personnel should install the device in a vehicle. Incorrect installation can be dangerous and void the warranty. Regularly check that all cellular equipment in your car is mounted and functioning correctly. Do not store or transport flammable or explosive materials in the same compartment where you store the device, its parts, or accessories. Do not place the device or accessories in the airbag deployment area.

AREAS WITH EXPLOSION RISK

Turn off the device in environments with explosion risk, such as next to gasoline pumps. Sparks can cause explosion or fire, resulting in injury or death. Observe restrictions in areas with fuel, chemical industries, or locations where blasting operations are carried out. Areas with explosion risk may not have been clearly identified. These areas are usually places where there are warnings to turn off the engine, ship holds, chemical transfer or storage facilities, and areas where chemicals or particles are present. Check with manufacturers of vehicles powered by liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane) to see if this device can be used safely in these types of vehicles.

CERTIFICATION INFORMATION

This mobile phone complies with radio wave exposure guidelines. Your device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It has been developed not to exceed the limits of exposure to radio waves (radiofrequency electromagnetic fields) recommended by the guidelines issued by the independent scientific organization ICNIRP. The guidelines include substantial safety margins to ensure the safety of everyone, regardless of age and health status. Exposure guidelines are based on the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), which represents the amount of radiofrequency energy (RF) that is absorbed by the head or body when the device is transmitting. The SAR limit for mobile phones established by ICNIRP is 2.0 W/kg, distributed over 10 grams of tissue.

SAR tests are performed with the device in normal operating positions, transmitting at the maximum energy level according to the corresponding certification, in all frequency bands.

This device complies with radio frequency exposure guidelines when used on the head or positioned at least 1.5 cm (5/8 inches) away from the body. Phone holders, stands, and similar accessories should not contain metallic components and should maintain the minimum distance from the body described above.

To send data or messages, you need a good network connection. Sending may be delayed until a good connection is available. Follow the separation distance instructions until the sending is complete.

During normal use, SAR values are normally well below the values mentioned above. This is because, for system efficiency and to minimize network interference, your mobile device's operating power is automatically reduced when full power is not needed for the call. The lower the power output, the lower the SAR value.

Device models may have different versions and more than one SAR value. Changes in components and design may occur over time, and some of these changes may affect SAR values.

For more information, visit www.sar-tick.com. Mobile phones can transmit even when no call is active.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that current scientific information does not indicate the need for special precautions when using mobile phones. If you want to reduce your exposure, it is recommended to limit use or use a hands-free kit to keep the device away from your head and body. For more information, explanations, and discussions about RF exposure, visit the WHO website at www.who.int/health-topics/electromagnetic-fields#tab=tab_1.

Consult www.hmd.com/sar for the maximum SAR value of the device.
