Using Ring Flash
Power Management
Note: After use, slide the power switch to the OFF position.
- Switch the power to ON. The charging indicator will start charging (dim). After a few seconds, the charging indicator turns red, indicating the flash is ready. Press the test button for a test flash. After use, slide the power switch to OFF to power off.
- If the red charging indicator lamp flickers every 1 second, it indicates low battery. The power will turn off automatically, and you need to replace the batteries.
Output Control
The flash unit has 5 steps of power output control indicated by 5 LEDs. Press the "+" button to increase power (1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1/1) and the "-" button to decrease power.
Synchronization Function
The ring flash and camera can trigger synchronously using a PC sync cord to connect the sync terminals of the camera and the ring flash.
Power Saving Function
The flash unit has a power-saving mode. When idle for about 30 minutes, it enters a "deeper sleep" state to save power. In this state, the charging indicator flickers every 3 seconds. To restart the unit, press any button.
Protection Function
- Protection in Continuous Flashes: To prevent the flash head from overheating and damage, do not flash over 50 times at power levels 1/2 or 1/1. Allow the flash unit to cool down for at least 10 minutes. If you continue to flash after 50 times, the over-temperature protection function may activate, increasing charging time to 10-25 seconds. Allow the flash unit to cool for about 10 minutes to return to normal state. The table below shows the approximate number of flashes that will activate over-temperature protection:
Power Output Flashes (Approx.) 1/1, 1/2 50 1/4, 1/8 100 1/16 200 - Systematic Over-temperature Protection: When the inner circuit overheats due to overuse, it will automatically shut down power. The flash unit will return to normal state after the inner circuit cools down (approximately 10 minutes).
