Sony SBH60 Stereo Bluetooth Headset User Guide

Brand: Sony

Introduction

The Sony Stereo Bluetooth® Headset SBH60 is designed to make your life more convenient during your travels. You can use it with an Android™ device like a phone or tablet, or with a Bluetooth® compatible device such as a phone, computer, or music player that does not have Android technology. By pairing with a compatible device, you can use the headset to control incoming and outgoing calls, or listen to music.

Hardware Overview

The headset features the following components:

Basic Concepts

Battery Charging

Before using the Stereo Bluetooth® Headset SBH60 for the first time, charge it for approximately 1 hour. Sony chargers are recommended.

To charge the headset:

  1. Plug one end of the USB cable into the charger.
  2. Plug the other end of the cable into the Stereo Bluetooth® Headset SBH60's micro USB port.
  3. Once the headset is fully charged, the notification light will illuminate green.

Powering the Headset On and Off

To turn the headset on: Press and hold the power button until the blue notification light flashes once.

To turn the headset off: Press and hold the power button until the white notification light flashes three times rapidly.

Adjusting Volume

During a call or while listening to music, press the volume button up or down.

Reset and Restart

You can reset the Stereo Bluetooth® Headset SBH60 to its factory default settings. This action, which removes all pairing data from the headset, is often necessary if the headset stops functioning correctly.

You can also force a restart of the Stereo Bluetooth® Headset SBH60 if the accessory becomes locked or does not restart normally. Forcing a restart does not delete any pairing data.

To reset factory settings:

  1. Turn off the headset, then connect the charger to begin charging.
  2. Press and hold the call button until the white notification light begins to flash.

To force restart the headset: Press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds until the headset restarts.

Placement Instructions

For optimal microphone performance, ensure the headset is worn correctly, with the earpiece marked "L" in the left ear and the earpiece marked "R" in the right ear.

Using the Headset

Using the Headset for Phone Calls

Use the headset to manage incoming calls. For example, you can answer or reject a call. You can also switch between ongoing calls. The supported number of ongoing calls may vary depending on the network or telephone operator.

Using the Headset for Music

You can listen to music from your phone or another Bluetooth® compatible device using the headset.

To listen to music:

Using the Headset with Two Devices Simultaneously

The headset has two different connection modes: multipoint mode and single-point mode. Multipoint mode helps you manage two connections at the same time. For example, if you connect your headset to two mobile phones, you can receive calls from both without having to disconnect and reconnect.

Single-point mode is activated by default. If you want to use the headset with two devices simultaneously, you must manually switch to multipoint mode. A maximum of two devices can be connected in multipoint mode. If you pair the headset with a third device, the first paired device will be disconnected.

To Switch to Multipoint Mode

  1. Ensure the headset is turned on.
  2. Press and hold the power button and the volume up button until the purple notification light flashes twice.

  2. Turn off the headset.
  3. Headset: Press and hold the power button until the blue notification light starts flashing rapidly.
  4. Second Bluetooth® Device: Search for Bluetooth® devices, then select SBH60 from the list of available devices. Follow the pairing instructions on the screen.
  5. First Bluetooth® Device: To reconnect the headset, select SBH60 from the list of associated devices in the Bluetooth® settings.

To Automatically Pair with Two Bluetooth® Devices (NFC)

  1. Ensure the headset is in multipoint mode and has been correctly paired with the first Bluetooth® device.
  2. Second Bluetooth® Device: Ensure NFC is turned on and the screen is active and unlocked.
  3. Place the second Bluetooth® device over the headset so that the NFC detection areas of each device touch. Pairing instructions will then appear on the screen.
  4. First Bluetooth® Device: To reconnect the headset, select SBH60 from the list of associated devices in the Bluetooth® settings.

To Switch to Single-Point Mode

  1. Ensure the headset is turned on and disconnected from all Bluetooth® devices.
