Controls Overview
The iM30 unit features the following controls:
- POWER / ALARM RESET: Turns the unit on/off and resets alarms.
- ALARM ONE, ALARM TWO: Buttons to set and manage the dual alarms.
- SLEEP / TIME SET: Sets the sleep timer and the clock time.
- FM RADIO: Selects FM radio mode and tunes stations.
- FM PRESETS: Memorizes and selects preset FM stations.
- SNOOZE / DISPLAY DIMMER: Snoozes the alarm or adjusts display brightness.
- VOLUME: Adjusts the volume.
- COLOR MODES: Cycles through different light color modes.
- SET PLUS / MINUS: Adjusts settings for time, alarms, and other features.
- AUX MODE: Selects AUX input mode.
- USB CHARGING PORT (5V/1A): For charging external devices.
- DC JACK (5V/1.5A): For connecting the AC adapter.
- AUX-IN: For connecting external audio devices.
- FM ANTENNA: Extend for best reception.
Quick Set-Up
Connecting the Unit
Connect the included AC adapter to the DC jack on the back of the unit and plug the other end into a working wall outlet.
Setting Your Clock
- Press and hold the Time Set Button until the display flashes.
- Press the – or + Buttons to adjust the time and tap Time Set to confirm. Ensure the correct AM/PM is set. The PM indicator is on the left side of the display.
- Repeat for year, month, and date.
Note: To toggle between 12/24 hour format, press Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 while the display is flashing during time setting.
Using Color Modes
Press the Color Mode Button repeatedly to cycle through 4 modes:
- Fade
- Fast
- Stop (Favorite Color)
- OFF
Favorite Color Mode: When the unit is in standby, press +/- to cycle through the color spectrum.
Setting the Alarms
This unit features dual alarms. Each is set similarly using the respective Alarm button.
- Press and hold the Alarm Button for 2 seconds until the alarm time display and alarm icon flash. A beep sounds.
- Press the – or + Buttons to adjust the alarm time. Ensure the correct AM/PM is set.
- Press the Alarm Button to confirm. The alarm schedule will flash (7 for every day, 5 for weekdays, 2 for weekend only). Press – or + Buttons to select the desired schedule.
- Press the Alarm Button to confirm the schedule. The wake-to source will flash.
- Press the – or + Buttons to select the wake-to source: FM Radio or Tone.
- If FM Radio is selected, press Alarm Button to confirm, then use – or + Buttons to select the desired FM frequency.
- If Tone is selected, press Alarm Button to confirm.
- Press the Alarm Button to confirm the wake-to source. The alarm volume will flash.
- Press the – or + Buttons to adjust the alarm volume.
- Press the Alarm Button to confirm volume. The current Wake to Light mode will flash.
- Press the – or + Buttons to select the light mode (Sun, Fade, Fast, Stop, None). 'Sun' activates 4 minutes before the sound alarm.
- Press the Alarm Button to confirm settings and exit. Two beeps confirm completion. The alarm icon remains on the display when armed.
Previewing and Toggling Alarms
- Press and release the Alarm Button to view the current alarm time, FM station, volume, and wake-to color mode.
- Press the Alarm Button again to toggle the alarm ON or OFF, indicated by the alarm indicator icon.
- When the alarm sounds, press the corresponding Alarm Button (1 or 2) or the Power Button to disable it. The alarm will reset for the same time the next day.
Snooze/Display Dimmer
- Snooze: When the alarm sounds, press the Snooze/Dimmer Button to snooze for 9 minutes.
- Dimmer: When the alarm is NOT sounding, press the Snooze/Dimmer Button to adjust display brightness (High, 3, 2, Low, OFF).
Programmable Snooze
- Press and hold the Snooze/Dimmer Button until the display flashes.
- Use the + or - Buttons to adjust the snooze duration from 1-29 minutes.
- Press the Snooze/Dimmer Button again to confirm.
Sleep Mode
To set a sleep timer:
- Press the Sleep/Time Set Button.
- Press the Sleep/Time Set Button repeatedly to cycle through sleep timer settings: 120, 90, 60, 30, 15 minutes, and off.
FM Radio
- Press and release the FM Radio Button to select FM radio mode.
- Press the – or + Button to tune to a desired station. Hold the button to scan for the next clear station.
- To memorize a station:
- Press the Presets Button to cycle through presets (P1-P4).
- Press and hold the Presets Button until the selected preset number flashes and a beep sounds.
- Tune to the desired station using the – or + Buttons.
- Press the Presets Button to confirm. Two beeps confirm the setting. Repeat to preset up to 4 stations.
- To listen to a preset station: Press the Presets Button repeatedly to select P1-P4.
AUX Mode
Connect your audio device to play music through the iM30 speaker.
- Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the AUX-IN jack on the unit.
- Connect the other end to your audio device's headphone jack.
- Press the AUX Mode Button on the unit and press play on your device.
- Use your device's controls to navigate tracks.
Charging Devices Via USB Port
- Connect the standard USB end of a USB cable (not included) to the USB port on the back of the unit.
- Connect the other end to your device's charging port.
- Monitor charging on your device. Some devices may not charge via USB if they use a proprietary method; use the original charger in such cases.
Note: The unit must be plugged into a working outlet to charge devices. Some devices may cause charging noise when playing via AUX-IN and charging via USB simultaneously.
Battery Back-Up
The unit uses 2 AAA back-up batteries (not included) for continuous alarm operation and clock settings during power outages. Replace batteries when the battery icon flashes.
- Ensure the AC adapter is connected to avoid losing settings during replacement.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to open the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit.
- Insert 2 AAA batteries, observing polarity markings. Replace the compartment door.
Maintenance
- Place the unit on a level surface away from direct sunlight or excessive heat.
- Remove the plastic protective film from the clock display.
- Use a cloth to protect furniture when placing the unit on natural wood or lacquered finishes.
- Clean the unit with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh cleaning agents.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read and follow all instructions. Keep instructions for future reference.
- Do not use near water; clean only with a dry cloth.
- Do not block ventilation openings.
- Keep away from heat sources like radiators or stoves.
- Use only manufacturer-specified attachments/accessories.
- Unplug during lightning storms or prolonged periods of non-use.
- Service by qualified personnel is required if the plug is damaged, objects fall into the unit, liquid is spilled, the unit is exposed to rain, dropped, enclosure damaged, or performance changes significantly.
- Do not place naked flame sources (e.g., lighted candles) on the product.
- Dispose of batteries responsibly; do not mix with household trash or fire.
- Suitable for tropical and/or moderate climates.
- WARNING: To reduce fire or electric shock risk, do not expose to rain or moisture.
- The mains plug of the power adapter is the disconnect device and must remain operable.

If interference occurs, try reorienting the antenna, increasing separation between equipment and receiver, connecting to a different circuit, or consulting a dealer/technician.

iHome Products (a division of SDI Technologies Inc.) warrants this product against defects in workmanship and materials for one year from the original purchase date. If the product fails to function satisfactorily, return it to the place of purchase. If service is required, contact Customer Service at ihomeaudio.com/support/contact for a Return Authorization Number and shipping instructions. A sales receipt is required for warranty validation.
