FAQs & Troubleshooting
- Issue: Android system cannot be accessed after the car is started. Solution: Please reinsert the AI BOX, wait for 30 seconds, and reconnect. Ensure that the car's port is a CarPlay/Android Auto-enabled USB port. Set the product to the car compatibility mode, such as wired CarPlay or wired Android Auto. The product is set to wired CarPlay by default when it leaves the factory.
- Issue: Connecting Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto fails. Solution: Make sure that the phone's Wi-Fi is not in use and is not connected to any devices. Any pop-up prompts must be allowed. Turn on voice assistant features like Siri on your phone to enable the product's voice assistant function.
- Issue: Device Freezes and Audio Issues. Solution: Try using a different USB cable and USB port on the vehicle. Also, make sure that there are no other phones connected to the vehicle via Bluetooth and USB port.
- Issue: My box won't connect. Solution: Please make sure you only use the cords included with your order. On your phone device, go into Bluetooth settings and "forget/remove" your vehicle as a Bluetooth source. Go into phone settings → General settings → CarPlay/Android Auto → "Forget/Remove" your vehicle from CarPlay/Android Auto. Go into vehicle settings → Bluetooth → "Forget/Remove" your phone as a Bluetooth device. Go into vehicle settings → CarPlay → "Forget/Remove" your phone and any other phones listed as a CarPlay device. Connect the USB-C to AI Box and Standard USB-A/USB-C to the vehicle factory wired CarPlay/Android Auto Port, wait 30 seconds. If the AI Box does not connect automatically, please go to the settings on your vehicle's screen, locate CarPlay, and activate it.
- Additional Troubleshooting Steps: Unplug the AI Box from the vehicle. Check if you can update the vehicle software in the settings. If no updates are available or needed, perform a "factory reset/restore to default settings" in the vehicle settings. Power the vehicle "OFF" completely for 2 minutes to reset the screen. Power the vehicle back on, plug the AI Box in, and wait 2 minutes for the system to configure.
- Question: Can the AI Box be paired with multiple phones? Answer: Yes, you can pair multiple phones, but only one device can be connected at a time. It defaults to the last phone connected. If you want to connect a new phone, you can have the connected phone turn Bluetooth & Wi-Fi off.
- Question: The audio and video is not synced up when watching videos on my phone? Answer: This is fairly normal even with wired Apple CarPlay, as video transcoding is more complex than audio transcoding, which can cause a delay of milliseconds. This does not mean the device is defective. If you are experiencing just an audio lag, please check the section for audio issues.
- Question: My phone is not auto-connecting to the AI Box. Answer: This is usually caused by interference on your mobile phone, such as connection to home/office Wi-Fi. On your iPhone, please follow these steps: Settings → General → CarPlay → Select the AI Box device name → Select "Forget this car". Settings → Bluetooth → Turn off Bluetooth. Settings → Wi-Fi → Turn off Wi-Fi. Lastly, turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth back on. When you turn Bluetooth on, wait for the AI Box device name to pop up and re-connect. Also, make sure your phone is not connected to another Wi-Fi source like your home or office.
