To ensure that you get the best possible use from it, please read this manual carefully. Our sampling pumps are designed to withstand the punishment of a long and active working life. Internally the pumps contain a high efficiency, rotary vane vacuum unit with a capacity of up to 3.0 litres/min of air through a standard 0.8 micron membrane filter. 5 1) On/Off switch 2 2) Timer 1 00 3 3) Air inlet 4 4) Time Reset 5) Red & Green LEDs 6 7 6) Flow Control 7) Charging Socket Setting the flow The flow is set from 1.0 litres/min to 3.0 litres/min by means of an electronic control unit. This can be adjusted by turning the flow control screw found on the underside of the unit (6) Running When the pump is switched on the timer will display the time elapsed in minutes. When the pump stops, the timer will display the elapsed time. If the pump is restarted, the timer will begin to count from the time at which it stopped. Alternatively the display can be zeroed using the reset button (4). Charging Each pump comes with a voltage detecting battery charger. This is preset to give 500mA charge rate for sufficient time to recharge the battery pack. At this rate the battery will be fully recharged from flat in approx 5 hours. When the charger is plugged into the charging socket the red LED will be illuminated. When the battery is sufficiently charged the green LED will light. The charger can be left connected for extended periods if required. The charger also has a discharge facility built in which is triggered by the yellow button at the front of the charger. Use of this is not essential but it can be used to ensure a full discharge/charge cycle if required. Troubleshooting Pump will not start, red LED illuminated. Flow rate insufficient. Pump stops while running, red LED illuminated. Pump fails to run for specified duration. Battery voltage too low, recharge battery. Check motor speed control setting and sample tube for kinks. Battery voltage too low, recharge or replace battery. Check battery pack.
