Thank you for purchasing the AGPTEK MP3 Player. Please read this manual carefully before using the product. Specifications are subject to change without prior notice.
Buttons & Controls
The AGPTEK A02(S)T Music Player features the following buttons and controls:
- 1. Menu button/Scroll up/Volume +
- 2. Previous/Rewind/Back button
- 3. Back button/Scroll down/Volume -
- 4. Play/Pause/Enter/Power on/off
- 5. Next/Fast forward

- 7. Earphone jack

Quick Guide
Charge the Player
- Use the included USB cable for data transfer and charging.
- Use a 5V/500mA charger (charger not included). Please ensure the charger meets these specifications to avoid damage.
Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: Press and hold the Play button for 3 seconds to turn the player on or off.
- Screen Lock/Unlock: Press and hold the M button to lock or unlock the screen.
Home Menu
Pressing the button cycles through 9 functions: Music, FM radio, Folder, Bluetooth, Record, Setting, Tools, Ebook, and Pictures.
Music
Navigate to 'Music' from the Home Menu to access music files. Options include:
- All songs: Plays all music files from local storage or the card folder.
- Resume (Now playing): Continues playback from the last song or audio file.
- Artists/Albums/Genres: Browse music files sorted by artist, album, or genre.
- Playlist: Access 3 default playlists (Playlist on the go [1]/[2]/[3]).
- Update playlists: Refresh the music file list.
- Local folder/Card folder: View music files in the local or card folder (requires memory card).
Playing Music:
- Fast forward: Hold the button.
- Skip to next track: Press the button.
- Rewind: Hold the button.
- Previous track: Press the button.
- Play/Pause: Press the button.
- Increase volume: Press the button.
- Decrease volume: Press the button.
- Volume control: Press and hold the 'VOL' button.
Sub-menu: While playing music, hold the M button to access the sub-menu:
- Home: Press the button to return to the Home Menu.
- Play mode: Select playback options.
Playback Options:
- Repeat: Off, Repeat 1, Repeat All.
- Shuffle: Turn shuffle mode on/off by pressing the button.
- Language learning (A-B Repeat): Set start (A) and end (B) points for repeated playback of a section. Press the button to confirm start time, then the button to set end time. Press the button again to repeat the selected segment. Press the button to return to normal playback.
- Sound settings: Adjust Equalizer, Speed, and Volume limit.
- Delete: Delete the currently playing song.
- Bookmarks: Add, select, or delete bookmarks for songs.

- Remove from playlist
FM Radio
Select 'FM Radio' from the main menu. Options include 'Station list', 'Manual tune', 'Auto tune', and 'FM recording'. Press M/VOL to select and the button to go back.
Sub-menu: Press the M button during radio playback:
- Start FM radio recording: Save recordings to 'FM recording'.
- Tuner Region: Select Common, Japan, or European Band.
- FM Recording: View saved recordings.
- Radio Background: Turn background sound on or off.
- Save to Presets
- Clear Presets
- Automatic Tuning: Automatically search for radio stations.
Note: Only mono radio stations can be played on this player.
Folder
Select 'Folder' from the Home Menu to view files. If a Micro SD card is inserted, you can choose between 'Local folder' and 'Card folder'.
Bluetooth
Select 'Bluetooth' from the Home Menu to connect to Bluetooth-enabled devices (headphones/speakers).
- Bluetooth on/off: Enable or disable Bluetooth.
- Search for device: Manually search for nearby Bluetooth devices.
- Device list: Select a device to connect or disconnect. Press the button to confirm. Once connected, you can play music or FM radio via Bluetooth devices.
Note: Wired headphones are required as a radio antenna when listening to the radio via Bluetooth.
Record
Select 'Record' from the Home Menu. Options include 'Start Voice Recording', 'Recordings library', 'Storage' (requires card), 'Record format', and 'Record bitrate'. Recording source can be microphone or line-in. Line-in supports two functions.
Playback Function: Connect the MP3 player to speakers using a LINE IN cable.
Settings
Select 'Settings' from the Home Menu. Options include:
- Language: Choose the display language.
- Display settings: Adjust Brightness, Backlight timer, and Screen saver.
- Power off: Set automatic power off timer (1-99 minutes).
- Sleep timer: The device automatically shuts off after a period of inactivity.
- Date and time: Set the date and time. Press the button to switch fields, and M/VOL to adjust values. Press the button to save.
- Format device/Factory settings: Format the device/SD card or restore to factory default settings. Backup files before formatting.
- Information: View player information and disk space.
Tools
Select 'Tools' from the Home Menu. Options include 'Pedometer', 'Video', 'Calendar', 'Stopwatch', and 'Alarm'.
- Calendar: Navigate through year, month, and day. Use M/VOL to select specific dates.
- Stopwatch: Start, stop, and resume timing. Use M/VOL to start a new stopwatch. Supports up to 4 stopwatches.
- Alarm: Set alarms, including on/off, time, repeat settings, sound, and volume.
- Video: Play video files from local or card folders. Use buttons to navigate videos and hold buttons for fast forward/rewind. Access sub-menu via M button for brightness, repeat, delete, and update card data.
- Pedometer: Track steps and elapsed time. Save step records. Set personal info (height, weight, step length). View and clear history records.
Ebook
Select 'Ebook' from the Home Menu to play TXT ebook files. Use buttons to turn pages or enable automatic playback. Hold the M button for sub-menu options like playsetting, brightness, page color, delete ebook, bookmarks, select page, and folder selection.
Pictures
Select 'Pictures' from the Home Menu to view image files. Use buttons to navigate pictures. Access sub-menu via M button for brightness, backlight timer, slideshow settings, delete picture, and update playlist.
Trouble Shooting
Language Selection
To re-select the language: Go to Settings (gear icon ⚙️), navigate to the last menu item 'Factory settings', select 'Yes' to confirm, and the player will restart, allowing language selection.
Player Not Turning On
- Power off the player and try again.
- Slide the power switch to 'Left' to turn off, then hold the play button for 10 seconds to reset.
- Update firmware: Visit www.agptek.com/support/download.html or www.agptek.com/blog.
Disk Error
If 'Disk error' appears, format the player via Settings > Format device.
Songs Not Recognized
Check if songs are in a supported format and not encrypted. Supported audio formats include:
- MP3: 8Kbps~320Kbps, 8MHz~48MHz
- WMA: 5Kbps~384Kbps, 8MHz~48MHz
- APE: 800Kbps~1000Kbps (FAST normal compressed), 8MHz~48MHz
- WAV: 32Kbps~384Kbps, 8MHz~48MHz
- FLAC: 1000Kbps~1200Kbps(L0~L8), 8MHz~48MHz
Memory Card Not Recognized or Inserted
- The player supports FAT32 format for memory cards. Check your card's format on your computer.
- Consider genuine Kingston or SanDisk TF cards.
- For deep card slots, a fingernail or thin object may help insertion.
Playing Music on Car Audio
- Use a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
- The included USB cable is for charging and data transfer only, not audio.
- Bluetooth connection to car audio is not recommended due to potential incompatibility.
Song Files and Audiobook Files Messed Up
For numerical order, name songs like "0001+Song Name" to "0999+Song Name". For folder playback, files are listed in import order. Consider using UMSSort software.
Bluetooth Connection Issues
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both devices.
- Check if the Bluetooth device is in pairing mode. Disconnect and re-pair if necessary.
- If the player is connected to multiple devices, delete previous connections and reconnect.
- Verify Bluetooth version compatibility (above 2.1 recommended).
- Environmental factors (proximity to other 2.4GHz devices, obstacles) can affect connection. Try in an open area.
- Connection may be lost if the distance exceeds 8-10m or if obstacles are within 4-5m.
Frequent Disconnection/Reconnection
Check the environment for signal interference (Wi-Fi, microwaves, etc.). Ensure the Bluetooth device is within the optimal range (8-10m) and minimize obstructions.

Notes On Battery Charging
- Use a PC USB port or a 5V/1A power adapter. Note that charging time may vary depending on the PC's USB port output. Powering off the device may speed up charging.
- The player and charger may heat up during charging, which is normal.
- New batteries perform best after several charge/discharge cycles.
- Fully charge the player in about 3 hours. Disconnect from USB after charging.
- The device uses a rechargeable polymer lithium battery. Replacement should be done by a professional to avoid explosion hazards. Dispose of old batteries responsibly.
- Battery lifespan may vary.
- Keep the battery away from direct sunlight, fire, and extreme heat.
Tips for Hearing Conservation
- Turn down the volume before using earphones and gradually increase to a comfortable level.
- Avoid listening at high volumes for extended periods to prevent hearing damage.
- If tinnitus occurs, lower the volume or stop using the device.
Caution
- Back up personal data before formatting the device.
- Place the product safely to prevent accidents, especially involving children.
- Do not apply excessive voltage, bend the power cord, or subject it to heavy objects to prevent overheating or fire.
- Keep the product away from electromagnetic environments, excessive humidity, smoke, dust, and harsh conditions.
- Do not immerse the device in water. Use only non-corrosive cleaners.
- Avoid exposure to moisture or rain, which can cause malfunction or damage.
