G522 LIGHTSPEED Headset Setup Guide
Connecting to a PC
1. Power On: Slide the power switch up. The headset will default to LIGHTSPEED wireless mode. The LED indicator will be white, indicating USB wireless mode.
2. Connect Receiver: Insert the receiver into a USB port on your PC. The LED on the dongle will slowly blink white while searching for the headset connection and turn solid white when the connection is established.
3. Configure Audio: Open Windows sound settings. Confirm the headset is set as the default Output and Input device. You can customize app volumes and devices in advanced sound options.
4. Optional Software: Download the Logitech G HUB software for advanced features at logitechG.com/ghub.
Connecting to a Bluetooth® Device
1. Power On: Slide the power switch up. The headset defaults to LIGHTSPEED wireless mode (white LED).
2. Enter Pairing Mode: Press and hold the Bluetooth® / Wireless button for 3 seconds. The LED will fast blink blue, and you will hear an audible confirmation.
3. Connect Device: Follow the Bluetooth® connection steps for your device.
Note: If the headset is powered down in Bluetooth® mode, it will default to Bluetooth® mode when powered on again. If switched back to LIGHTSPEED wireless mode and then powered down, it will default to LIGHTSPEED wireless when powered on again.
Using Wired USB Audio
1. Power On: Slide the power switch up. Ensure the headset is in LIGHTSPEED wireless mode – you will hear the LIGHTSPEED voice prompt and see a white LED. If not in LIGHTSPEED mode, press the Bluetooth® mode button until you hear the LIGHTSPEED prompt and see the white LED.
2. Connect Cable: Connect your headset to your PC, PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch dock using the included USB-A to USB-C cable.
Note: The PC will automatically switch audio and communication devices to USB wired. The LED indicator will show Cyan color for wired USB mode. USB wired and USB wireless modes cannot be used simultaneously. If the USB dongle is plugged in while the USB cable is plugged in, the LED indicator on the dongle will slowly blink white, indicating it has lost connection with the headset.
Reset and Pairing Headset with Dongle
1. Connect Dongle: Plug in the dongle (if already plugged in, unplug and re-plug it).
2. Access Pairing Button: Remove the left earpad cushion.
3. Reset Headset: Use a paperclip to long-press the headset pairing button.
4. Reset Dongle: Use a paperclip to press the dongle pairing button.
Switching Between Modes
Short press the Bluetooth® / Wireless toggle button. The LED indicator shows the current mode:
- Blue = Bluetooth® mode
- White = LIGHTSPEED wireless mode
- Cyan = USB wired mode
Note: The headset will only switch to USB wired mode when connected via a USB cable. LIGHTSPEED wireless mode cannot be switched to or used while connected via USB cable.
Adjusting Headset Volume
On PC (Windows/Mac): Use the volume roller to adjust volume. The headset volume syncs with the operating system volume.
On Console (PlayStation/Switch): The headset controls its own volume, independent of the console system volume.
Muting and Unmuting the Microphone
Press the mic mute button to engage the mute function. When the mic is muted, a red indicator will be visible at the base of the mic button, and the LED at the end of the mic boom will light red.
Adjusting the Headband Strap
The elastic suspension headband is designed to accommodate a wide range of head sizes and shapes. The headband can be attached at two anchor points of differing lengths to fine-tune the tension when worn, for better comfort.
