Requirements

  1. Place the device away from sunlight and light sources to prevent potential damage.
  2. Do not place the device in high-temperature, humid environments, or in surroundings impacted by magnetic fields.
  3. Install the device on a flat surface securely to avoid personal injuries and property loss caused by the device falling.
  4. Do not use or place the device near heating objects.
  5. If installing the device indoors, keep it at least 2 meters away from light sources and at least 3 meters away from windows and doors.

Safety Precautions

⚠ WARNING ⚠

  1. To ensure safety, avoid touching the power core, power adapter, and device with wet hands. Do not bend or pull the power core, or damage any components. Use only qualified power adapters and power cords.
  2. Be careful when standing in the area under the device to avoid personal injuries caused by the device falling.

⚠ CAUTION ⚠

  1. Do not knock the device with hard objects.
  2. Do not press down hard on the device screen.
  3. Do not expose the device to chemical products such as alcohol, acid liquids, disinfectants, etc.
  4. To prevent the device installation from becoming loose, ensure accurate diameters and depths of screw holes. If screw holes are too large, use glue to secure the screws.
  5. Clean the device surface softly with a wet cloth, then wipe the surface with a dry cloth.
  6. If there is an abnormal situation with the device, including uncommon sound or smell, power off the device and contact Nice Technical Support immediately.

Device Wiring

The device offers various connection terminals:

To ensure safety, avoid touching the power core, power adapter, and device with wet hands, bending or pulling the power core, damaging any components, and use only qualified power adapter and power cord. Be careful that standing up on the area under the device in case of personal injuries cause by hitting the device.

Installation

Follow these steps for installation:

  1. Step A: Position the wall-mounting template closely against the wall, aligning it with the wire's location. Use a 6mm hand drill to drill four screw holes with a depth of 25mm.
  2. Step B: Insert four plastic wall anchors into the drilled holes.
  3. Step C: Fix the wall-mounting bracket to the wall by tightening four ST4x20 Phillips Head screws into the plastic wall anchors.
  4. Step D: Connect the wires to the corresponding interface terminals. Tighten the wiring cover with four M3x4 crosshead screws.
  5. Step E: Insert the sealing pad into the wire opening, pushing it upward to ensure a tight seal.
  6. Step F: Hang the slot on the back upper part of the main unit onto the corresponding hooks of the wall box, then gently lower the main unit into the wall box. Use the Torx wrench to tighten the device with two M3x6 Torx screws at the bottom.
  7. Step G-A: If installation is completed, remove the protective film from the device.
  8. Step G-B: An alternate installation method includes using an angled base plate.

Application Network Topology

The system can be configured with a Touch Panel, Controller, and various doorbell models (EL-DB-WP, EL-DB-WP (Wi-Fi - 12vdc), EL-DB-SX, EL-DB-2W) connected via LAN and PoE. An EL-DB-NX module can also be integrated.

Device Test

Please verify the device is on the network after installation:

  1. Network Test: Press and hold the Call button to obtain an IP address. The network is working properly if the device announces an IP address. If no IP address is obtained, the unit will announce "IP 0.0.0.0".

Wi-Fi Configuration

  1. Power the device on with the 12V/1A power supply. Wait until the device Call button light turns RED flashing and an audible tone is heard.
  2. Press the Tamper-proof button three times to enter Wi-Fi scanning mode, indicated by a BLUE flashing light. Wait until the BLUE light stops flashing.
  3. When the device finishes Wi-Fi scanning, it enters Network Pre-configuration mode. This mode remains active for 20 seconds before expiring.
  4. The device network name will be "NiceDB-xxxx", where "xxxx" represents the last four digits of the device's unique MAC address.
  5. Before Network Pre-configuration mode expires, long press the Call button for 3 seconds to enter Network Configuration mode.
  6. The device will automatically enable its hotspot feature, creating an access connection named "NiceDB-xxxx" with no password (xxxx = last four digits of the MAC address).
  7. Open the WLAN feature on your mobile phone. Find the Wi-Fi named "NiceDB-xxxx".
  8. Click "Connect". During this process, the Call button's BLUE light will keep flashing.
  9. Complete the device network configuration on your mobile phone via the hotspot.

NOTE: The Network Pre-configuration mode and Network Configuration mode expire after 5 minutes.

After your mobile phone connects to the hotspot successfully, it will automatically open the browser and display the Wi-Fi Configuration page. Alternatively, you can type the hotspot IP address 192.168.188.10 into your mobile phone's browser to access the configuration page.

  1. Select the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to and enter the corresponding Wi-Fi password.
  2. Tap the "Connect" button.
  3. During the connection process, the Call button's BLUE light will keep flashing. If successfully connected to Wi-Fi, the Call button's BLUE light will remain on, and you will hear a prompt sound. If the connection fails, a PURPLE flashing light will be displayed.
  4. If no connection is made, repeat Step 1.

NOTE: If a problem occurs (e.g., incorrect password entered), you can press the Tamper-proof button three times to proceed from Step 1.

This product is warranted to the original consumer against defects in material and workmanship by Nice North America LLC for the periods mentioned above. Nice North America will repair, or at its option, replace, any device found to require service under this warranty, and will return the repaired or replaced device to the consumer at Nice North America's cost. Devices must be sent to Nice North America for service at the owner's expense.

This warranty does not apply to damage resulting from negligence, abuse, abnormal usage, misuse, accidents, normal wear and tear, failure to follow Seller's instructions, or improper installation, storage, or maintenance. Nice North America will not be responsible for incidental, compensatory, punitive, consequential, indirect, special, or other damages. Some states may not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental and consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

Implied warranties are limited to the time periods set forth above. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This warranty grants specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.
