  • Failure to follow these instructions can result in fire, electrical shock, or death.

Ensure a standard electrical supply (115V, 60Hz), properly grounded per the National Electrical Code and local codes, is available. The ice maker should be plugged into its own individual outlet. A separate circuit is recommended to prevent overloading. Use an outlet not controlled by a switch or pull chain. Immediately repair or replace a frayed or damaged power cord. Be careful not to damage the power cord when moving the unit.

The fuse or circuit breaker size should be at least 15 amps.

Recommended Grounding Method

For safety, the appliance must be properly grounded. It has a 3-prong grounding plug. Plug into a mating 3-pronged, grounding-type wall receptacle. Have the wall outlet and circuit checked by a qualified electrician to ensure proper grounding. If a grounding receptacle is unavailable, it is the customer's responsibility to have one installed by a qualified electrician.

Leveling the Ice Maker

❗ Adjust the feet to level the ice maker before installation in a cabinet or on the floor. If the floor is level, rotate the front feet to touch the floor.

Leveling is crucial for proper operation. Raise or lower the unit by rotating the four rubber feet. Use a carpenter's level to check if the unit is level from front to back and side to side. Turn feet right to lower, left to raise.

Diagram illustrates adjusting feet: Up/Down.

Water Supply Connections

Water supply pressure should be a minimum of 20 psig (static pressure not exceeding 120 psig). Water temperature should be between 41°F and 90°F for optimal operation. A wall outlet behind the unit simplifies installation.

❗ Important: 1. All installations must comply with local plumbing codes. 2. Ensure pipes are not pinched, kinked, or damaged. 3. Check for leaks after connection.

Connecting the Water Line

Tools required: 1/2" Open-end Wrench, Phillips Screwdriver.

  1. Turn off the main water supply. Open the nearest faucet to clear the line.
  2. Locate a 1/4" vertical cold water inlet with a shut-off valve within six (6) feet. The provided hose is about six (6) feet long. Drains are not required.
  3. Connect the water supply hose nuts to the tap and water inlet valve. Tighten by hand, then a half-turn with the wrench.
  4. Turn on the main water supply and tap. Check all connections for leaks and tighten as needed.

❗ Pay attention to the "Water inlet" labels on the ice maker when connecting the hose.

Filtering water is recommended to remove taste, odors, and particles. Very hard water or softened water may result in mushy cubes. De-ionized water is not recommended.

  4. Machine leveled?
  5. Ambient temperature between 50°F-90°F and water temperature between 41°F-90°F?
  6. Water supply pressure checked (min 20 psig, max 120 psig)?
  7. At least 1" clearance at the rear?
  8. Power supply voltage checked and proper grounding installed?
  9. Ice maker plugged in?
  10. Main water supply and tap turned on?
  11. Water supply connections checked for leaks?

Operating Method

The power switch is located inside the door, near the bottom. Press it to turn the unit on or off. Ice production begins within 60 minutes. Production stops automatically when the ice bucket is full, triggering the wire shut-off arm. Do not turn the unit off if the door is closed or if there is ice or water inside.

Ice Harvest Control

This control adjusts the harvest temperature, affecting ice hardness and production time. Colder settings produce harder ice that melts slower but increases production time. Warmer settings speed up production. The control is preset at the factory; adjustments are usually not needed.

❗ Making adjustments may affect daily ice production.

To Adjust the Ice Harvest Control:

  1. Unscrew and remove the front grille.
  2. Use a flathead screwdriver to turn the adjusting screw. Clockwise for colder (harder ice, slower production). Counterclockwise for warmer (faster production).
  3. Replace and secure the front grille.

Diagram shows a dial with settings from COLD to COLDEST, and thermometers indicating temperature.

Ice Production

When the ice bucket is full, the ice maker mold shuts off, but the refrigeration system continues to cool. Do not place cans or bottles in the ice compartment as they will freeze.

  • Cloudy ice cubes may appear due to trapped air from fast freezing; this does not affect taste or quality.
  • Hollow ice cubes can result from fast freezing in high humidity conditions; this is normal.
  • Ice production can be interrupted by raising the wire shut-off arm to an upright, locked position. The unit will maintain temperature for ice storage.

❗ Important: If not using the ice maker, turn off the supply valve and raise the bin arm to prevent water valve damage. Discard the first batch of ice. Never turn off the water supply while the ice maker is running. Do not touch the ice maker mold while running. Keep the door closed except when taking ice to reduce melting and ensure proper formation.

Cleaning and Maintenance

⚠️ Caution: Clean thoroughly if left unused for a long time. Follow cleaning/sanitizing instructions carefully. Do not leave cleaning solutions inside.

Periodic cleaning ensures efficiency and longevity. Maintenance intervals are based on normal conditions; shorten them if you have pets or other special considerations.

  • Periodically vacuum dust and dirt from the condenser located behind the front grille.
  • Regularly inspect plumbing connections for leaks.
  • Note: Do not store anything other than ice in the ice storage bin; objects like bottles are unsanitary.
  • Important: Do not touch the power plug with wet hands. Never unplug by pulling the cord; grip the plug firmly.

Exterior Cleaning

Clean the door and cabinet with a mild detergent and warm water solution (e.g., 1 oz dishwashing liquid per 2 gallons warm water). Do not use solvent-based or abrasive cleaners. Use a soft sponge, rinse with clean water, and wipe dry to prevent spotting. For stainless steel doors, clean with a mild detergent and warm water solution and a damp cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners, as chlorine gas and moisture can cause discoloration.

Interior Cleaning

When necessary, defrost the unit and clean the interior with mild soap and water. Do not use electrical heating devices or sharp tools for defrosting. When defrosting or turning the unit off, prop the door open to allow air drying and prevent mildew or mold formation.

Winterizing

⚠️ Warning: Disconnect power before working. Do not use anti-freeze; it will damage the mold coating and void the warranty.

  1. Shut off the water supply.
  2. Disconnect the water supply connector at the solenoid valve behind the front grille. Remove the plastic tubing and nut.
  3. Turn power on, let the unit run for an hour, remove any ejected cubes. Turn off power, open the door to allow defrosting. Wipe dry and leave the door open.

Recommissioning

Reconnect the water supply connector, turn on water, check for leaks, and reconnect power. After an initial cool-down (45-60 minutes), the unit will cycle approximately every 40 minutes.

Start Up

Turn on water, check for leaks, then turn on power via the switch below the door. The fan and compressor should start. The interior temperature will drop below freezing. First ice harvest occurs within 60 minutes. Normal cycling is every 40 minutes or less after lines are purged.

Condenser Cleaning

A dirty condenser reduces airflow, ice making capacity, and can lead to component failure. Clean the condenser at least every six (6) months.

  1. Unplug the ice maker.
  2. Remove the two (2) screws on the front cover and gently remove it.
  3. Use a vacuum cleaner brush attachment to remove dirt and lint from the condenser and compartment.
  4. Replace the front cover and screws.
  5. Plug in the ice maker.

⚠️ Warning: DO NOT touch the condenser fins; they are sharp and can be easily damaged.
