How to find your iPad model number:
- Go to iPad Settings > General > About. Tap the model number to reveal the model number (AXXXX).
- Find your iPad model number on the back of your iPad.

Installation
Important: Ensure the back of the iPad is fully attached to the keyboard case before folding the cover down to prevent the iPad from falling.
The installation involves magnetically attaching the iPad to the case and then folding it into the desired position.
Power Sources
The keyboard case is charged via a Type-C port.
Power On/Off:
- For iPad Pro 12.9 (P129): Press and hold the power button (1) to turn the keyboard case on or off. The LED will flash 3 times. Press any key to wake it from standby mode.
- For iPad Pro 11/iPad Air 10.9 (P11): Double-click (touch) the power button to turn it on or off. A single touch should be held for 3 seconds.
Detecting Battery Level:
- The LED charging indicator lights up red while charging.
- After connecting to the iPad, swipe right on the iPad home screen. The keyboard battery level is displayed next to the Bluetooth icon.
LED Indicator
For iPad Pro 12.9 (P129)
- LED Blue: Flashing indicates Bluetooth waiting for pairing; Solid light indicates Bluetooth is paired.
- LED Red: Flashing indicates low battery; Solid light indicates charging.
- LED Green: Indicates the battery is fully charged.
- White Light: On when typing uppercase, off when typing lowercase.
For iPad Pro 11 & iPad Air 10.9 (P11)
- LED1 (Blue): Flashing for Bluetooth pairing, solid for connected.
- LED2 (White): Indicates Caps Lock mode (On/Off).
- LED3 (Red/Green): Red flashing for low battery, solid red for charging, solid green for fully charged.
Bluetooth Connection
Notice Before Connecting:
- Ensure your iPad iOS system is version 14.6 or above.
- Enable the iPad AssistiveTouch function (Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch).
Steps for Connection:
- Power On: Follow the specific power-on instructions for your model (P129 or P11).
- Pairing Mode: Press the 'Fn' and 'C' keys together. The blue wireless indicator will flash.
- Connect on iPad: Go to iPad Settings > Bluetooth, search for 'ipad-keyboard', and tap to connect. The indicator stops flashing when connected.
Notes:
- The keyboard enters sleep mode after 10 minutes of inactivity. Double-click any key to reactivate.
- A slight delay of about 3 seconds for the touchpad upon reconnecting Bluetooth is normal.
Keyboard Function for iPad 11"/10.9" (P11)
Hotkeys and Media Keys:
Press 'Fn' + Function key for specific actions. These include Home, brightness control, search, virtual keyboard, voice control, media playback, volume control, and screen lock.
To type characters in the grey area, hold 'Shift' and press the desired character. Long-holding a key may reveal app-specific shortcuts.
RGB Backlight:
- Press 'Fn + 2' to cycle through 7 backlight modes or turn it off.
- Press 'Fn + 3' to adjust backlight brightness or turn it off.
Note: The backlight turns off automatically after 5 seconds of inactivity to save power and lights up again when any key is pressed.
Keyboard Function for iPad 12.9" (P129)
Hotkeys and Media Keys:
Press 'Fn' + Function key for specific actions. These include Home, brightness control, virtual keyboard, screen capture, media playback, volume control, and backlight adjustments.
To type characters in the grey area, hold 'Shift' and press the desired character. Long-holding a key may reveal app-specific shortcuts.
RGB Backlight:
- Press a specific key combination to switch between 7 backlight modes or turn it off.
- Press another key combination to adjust backlight brightness or turn it off.
Note: The backlight turns off automatically after 5 seconds of inactivity to save power and lights up again when any key is pressed.
Trackpad Gesture Description
One Finger Gestures:
- Tap: Press with one finger.
- Tap and Hold: Press and hold with one finger.
- Open Dock: Swipe pointer across the bottom of the screen.
- Go to Home Screen: Swipe pointer across the bottom again when the dock appears.
- Open Notification Center: Move pointer to the upper-left status icon and tap or swipe up.
- Open Control Center: Move pointer to the upper-right status icon and tap or swipe up.
- Drag: Tap and hold an item, then slide your finger on the touchpad.
Two Finger Gestures:
- Auxiliary Tap: Tap or tap with two fingers on an app icon to open its menu.
- Scroll: Swipe up/down or left/right with two fingers.
- Today View: Swipe right with two fingers on the home or lock screen.
- Open Search: Swipe down with two fingers from the home screen.
- Zoom: Spread two fingers apart to zoom in, pinch to zoom out.
Three Finger Gestures:
- Go to Home Screen: Swipe up with three fingers.
- Open App Switcher: Swipe up with three fingers and pause before lifting.
- Switch Between Apps: Swipe right with three fingers, then swipe left or right.
Ensure Touchpad is Usable:
- Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch: Turn AssistiveTouch On.
- Ensure iPad Software Version is 14.6 or above.
- Select the correct keyboard layout in Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > English (US) > QWERTY.
Keyboard Function - Touchpad/Gesture Settings
- Ensure iPadOS is 14.6 or above.
- Press 'Fn' + 'T' to enable/disable the touchpad function. A cursor will appear on the iPad screen when enabled.
- Gesture shortcuts are based on default settings. Refer to the gesture instructions manual for details.
- Avoid touching the touchpad while typing to prevent cursor movement. The touchpad can be turned on or off as needed.
- A slight delay (approx. 3 seconds) for the touchpad upon Bluetooth reconnection is normal.
Adjusting Cursor Tracking Speed:
- Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch: Adjust tracking sensitivity at the bottom of the page.
- Settings > General > Trackpad & Mouse: Adjust tracking sensitivity here as well.
Updating iPadOS to 14.6:
- Open Settings > General > Software Update.
- Tap 'Download and Install' or 'Resume Download'.
Troubleshooting
Keyboard Needs Charging:
- The low battery indicator (red) blinks when charging is needed. Use the included Type-C cable and an iPad charger. The red indicator stays on during charging, and the green indicator lights up upon completion.
- Recharge the keyboard every two months if not used for extended periods. Keep at normal temperature and charge at normal voltage.
Keyboard Cannot Connect to iPad:
- Ensure the keyboard is paired via Bluetooth.
- Verify the keyboard is charged.
- Ensure the keyboard is within 33 feet of the iPad.
- Delete all previously paired devices from the iPad's Bluetooth list, restart the iPad's Bluetooth, and restart the keyboard.
- The keyboard only supports one device connection at a time.
- Low battery can interrupt Bluetooth connection.
Pressing Symbol Buttons:
After Bluetooth connection, press 'Shift' and the desired symbol key (e.g., 'Shift' + '@') to type the symbol.
Incorrect Character Input (e.g., A shows as Z):
Check iPad settings: Settings > Keyboard > Keyboards > English (US) > QWERTY.
Changing Case (Lowercase/Uppercase):
By default, Caps Lock switches languages. To use Caps Lock for capital letters:
- Go to iPad Settings > Keyboards > Hardware Keyboard.
- Turn off the 'Switch languages using Caps Lock' toggle.
Space Bar Not Working:
- Try Settings > Accessibility > Keyboards > Full Keyboard Access > Commands.
- Change the setting for 'Space' from 'activate' to 'Clear'. If it reverts, turn off Full Keyboard Access. The space bar should then function correctly.
Some Keys Not Working:
Reset the keyboard by pressing and holding 'L + S + Z' for 3 seconds. The indicator will flash once, indicating a successful reset. Re-pair the keyboard with your iPad after resetting.
Delay After Pressing Keys:
Check iPad Settings > Accessibility > Keyboards > 'Slow Keys' and ensure it is Off or set to 0.1 Seconds.
Repeated Characters After Pressing a Key:
Check iPad Settings > Accessibility > Keyboards > 'Key Repeat' and ensure it is set to 0.1 Seconds or Off.
Unwanted Auto-Correction or Punctuation:
- Open Settings app > General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard.
- Toggle OFF Auto-Capitalization, Auto-Correction, and '.' shortcut.
