This document provides essential safety instructions, installation guidelines, operating procedures, and maintenance information for the Whirlpool Induction Cooktop.
Safety Instructions
Before using the appliance, read all safety instructions carefully and keep them for future reference. Failure to observe these instructions may result in injury or damage.
- General Warnings:
- Do not use the appliance if the hob surface is cracked (risk of electric shock).
- Do not store items on the cooking surfaces (danger of fire).
- Cooking processes must be supervised, especially those involving fats or oils (risk of fire). Never use water to extinguish a fire; switch off the appliance and cover the flame.
- Do not use the hob as a work surface or support. Keep flammable materials away until the appliance has cooled.
- Metallic objects like knives, forks, spoons, and lids can get hot on the hob surface.
- Keep young children (0-3 years) away from the appliance. Children aged 3-8 should be supervised. Children from 8 years and older, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, can use the appliance if supervised or instructed on safe use and understand the hazards.
- Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by children without supervision.
- After use, switch off the hob element by its control and do not rely on the pan detector.
- Accessible parts become hot during use; avoid touching heating elements.
Permitted Use:
- The appliance is intended for household and similar applications (staff kitchens, farm houses, hotels, etc.).
- Not for professional use or outdoor use.
- Not intended for operation by external switching devices like timers or remote controls.
Installation
Installation must be carried out by qualified personnel following current safety and installation regulations.
- Handle and install the appliance with two or more persons to avoid injury. Use protective gloves during unpacking and installation.
- Ensure the appliance is not damaged during transport. Contact the dealer if problems arise.
- Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before any installation operation.
- Ensure the power cable is not damaged during installation.
- Carry out all cabinet cutting operations before fitting the appliance and remove all wood chips and sawdust.
- If the appliance is not installed above an oven, a separator panel must be installed in the compartment underneath.
Electrical Warnings:
- The appliance must be disconnectable from the power supply via an accessible plug or a multi-pole switch.
- Ensure the appliance is earthed according to national electrical safety standards.
- Do not use extension leads, multiple sockets, or adapters.
- Electrical components must not be accessible to the user after installation.
- Do not operate the appliance when wet or barefoot.
- Do not operate if the power cable, plug, or the appliance itself is damaged.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons.
Cleaning and Maintenance
- Ensure the appliance is switched off and disconnected from the power supply before maintenance. Do not use steam cleaning equipment.
- Do not use abrasive or corrosive products, chlorine-based cleaners, or pan scourers.
- Clean the hob after each use when cool to remove deposits and stains.
- A dirty surface may reduce the sensitivity of control panel buttons.
- Use a scraper only for stuck-on residues, following manufacturer's instructions.
- Remove sugar or high-sugar content foods immediately as they can damage the hob.
- Salt, sugar, and sand can scratch the glass surface.
- Use a soft cloth, absorbent kitchen paper, or a special hob cleaner.
- Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
iXelium™ Hobs: For hobs treated with iXelium™ technology, use a soft cloth dampened with water or glass cleaning detergent. For best results, leave a wet cloth on the surface for a few minutes.
Troubleshooting

Sounds Produced During Operation
Induction hobs may produce whistling or creaking noises during normal operation. These noises are related to the cookware used and its characteristics (e.g., multi-layered or irregular bottoms) and do not indicate a fault.

Before calling After-Sales Service:
- Try to solve the problem using the troubleshooting suggestions.
- Switch the appliance off and back on to check if the fault persists.
If the fault persists, contact the nearest After-Sales Service. Provide a brief description of the fault, the appliance type and model, the serial number (SN), your full address, and your telephone number.
For installation not over a built-in oven, you may need to purchase a separator kit (e.g., C00628720 or C00628721) or ensure a separator is installed according to the installation instructions.
Product Description and Control Panel
The cooktop features a control panel with various buttons and indicators for managing cooking zones and functions.
Key Controls:
- Power Button (On/Off): Press for 1 second to turn the hob on or off.
- Scroll Keypad (Slider): Used to activate cooking zones and adjust power levels.
- 'P' Button (Booster): Selects the fast heating function.
- OFF Button: Deactivates cooking zones.
- OK/Key Lock Button: Press and hold for 3 seconds to lock/unlock the control panel.
- Timer: Two timers available, one for left-hand zones and one for right-hand zones. Set time using '+' and '-' buttons. The zone switches off automatically when the timer expires.
- FLEXISIDE Button: Combines two cooking zones for use with large or oval pots.
- 6th Sense Button: Activates special functions like Melting, Keep Warm, and Boiling. Select functions by pressing the button repeatedly.
Indicators:
- 'H' Indicator: Shows that a cooking zone is hot. Disappears when the zone has cooled down.
- Pot Position Indicator: Appears if the pot is unsuitable, incorrectly positioned, or missing. The zone switches off if no pot is detected within 30 seconds.

The cooking table provides guidance on power levels and corresponding cooking types.

Energy Saving Tips
- Switch off the hob a few minutes before finishing cooking to utilize residual heat.
- Ensure pot bases completely cover the hot plate.
- Use tight-fitting lids on pots and pans and use minimal water.
- Use only flat-bottomed pots and pans.
