Introduction
This document provides comprehensive assembly instructions and user guidelines for the KRAUSE mobile aluminium working scaffold. It is designed for safe and efficient use at various heights, adhering to EN 1004-1 standards.
Safety First ❗
Always prioritize safety when assembling and using the scaffold. Key safety points include:
- Observe maximum load limits: 180 kg per platform, 30 kg for tools and materials.
- Scaffolds must be secured against wind. Maximum permissible wind speed is 6 Beaufort (~45 km/h).
- Ensure correct and complete assembly before use.
- The GuardMatic-System™ provides automatic fall protection.
- Do not use the scaffold on uneven or unstable ground.
- Regularly inspect the scaffold for damage or wear.
Technical Specifications
The KRAUSE mobile aluminium working scaffold is built to:
- Load Class: 3 (200 kg/m²)
- Maximum load per platform: 180 kg
- Maximum load for tools and materials: 30 kg
- Maximum working height: 7.20 m (depending on configuration)
- Maximum platform height: 7.00 m (depending on configuration)
Refer to Section 6 for detailed load capacity configurations.

Assembly Instructions
Follow these steps carefully for safe and correct assembly. Always ensure all parts are securely fastened.
Step 1: Base Assembly
Begin by assembling the base structure. This involves connecting the lower frames and attaching the base plates and wheels.
- Take two base frames (Part 1: 2.00 x 0.65 m) and two frames (Part 2: 1.00 x 0.65 m).
- Connect these frames using horizontal braces (Part 5) and diagonal braces (Part 4) at the bottom. Use screws (Part 6) and locking pins (Part 8) to secure.
- Attach base plates (Part 9) to the bottom of the assembled frames.
- Mount the wheels (Part 704306, 914118, 714107, 714039) onto the base plates. Ensure brakes are functional.
- Install the GuardMatic-System™ components (Part 15) onto the designated frame points.
Step 2: Building Upwards (Example for 3.00m Platform Height)
Continue adding frames and platforms to reach the desired working height.
- Stack additional frames (Part 1, 2, or 3 as required) on top of the base structure.
- Secure each frame level with locking pins (Part 8).
- Install diagonal braces (Part 4, 10) and horizontal braces (Part 5) at each level for stability.
- Place a platform (e.g., Part 12: 1.50 m) onto the frame supports at the designated height for the first working level.
- Ensure the GuardMatic-System™ (Part 11, 15) is correctly installed and functional as you build upwards.
For higher configurations (5.00m, 7.00m platform heights), continue stacking frames, adding bracing, and installing platforms at appropriate levels, following the same principles. Refer to diagrams in the original document for specific configurations.
Step 3: Installing Platforms
Platforms are secured onto the frame ledges. Ensure they are fully seated and locked in place.
- Platforms with trapdoors (Part 14) allow access to higher levels.
- Platforms without trapdoors (Part 12, 13) serve as working surfaces.
Step 4: Bracing and Stability
Diagonal and horizontal bracing are critical for the scaffold's stability. Ensure all braces are correctly fitted and secured at every level.
Step 5: GuardMatic-System™
The GuardMatic-System™ provides integrated fall protection. Ensure all components are installed as per the instructions to activate its automatic safety features.
Load Capacities and Configurations
The scaffold's load capacity varies based on its height and configuration. Always adhere to the specified limits.
Platform Height (m) | Scaffold Height (m) | Load Class | Max Load per Platform (kg) |
---|---|---|---|
3.00 | 3.20 | 3 (200 kg/m²) | 180 |
5.00 | 5.20 | 3 (200 kg/m²) | 180 |
7.00 | 7.20 | 3 (200 kg/m²) | 180 |
Note: Maximum permissible wind speed is 6 Beaufort (~45 km/h). The scaffold must be secured or dismantled in high winds.
Maintenance and Inspection
Regular inspection and maintenance are crucial for safe operation.
- Inspect all components for damage, wear, or corrosion before each use.
- Clean the scaffold regularly to remove dirt and debris.
- Ensure all locking pins and braces are secure.
- Check wheels and brakes for proper function.
- Refer to the manufacturer for any repairs or replacement parts.
