This document provides instructions for the Philips Baristina espresso machine. It covers initial setup, brewing, programming, cleaning, and milk preparation.

First Time Use

4. The machine will automatically dispense the programmed volume. AUTO

Espresso and Lungo Volumes

Espresso: Approximately 40 ml ☕

Lungo: Approximately 110 ml ☕

Cup Height Adjustment

The drip tray can be adjusted to accommodate cups up to a maximum height of 135mm. [Max height indicator] MAX 135mm

Programming Brew Volume (MEMO)

3. Press and hold the desired button (Espresso or Lungo) for 5 seconds to enter programming mode. [Button press diagram] ⏱️ 5 sec

Decalcification

Recommended: Use Philips descaling solution (e.g., CA6700).

1. Remove the brew group from the machine. [⬇️]
2. Fill the water tank with a mixture of descaling solution and water according to the solution's instructions. [CA6700]
3. Place a container with a capacity of at least 1.2 liters under the coffee spout. [1,2 L]
4. Press and hold both the Espresso and Lungo buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds to start the decalcification process. [⏱️ 5 sec]
5. The machine will begin dispensing the descaling solution. [CLICK]
6. The decalcification cycle involves dispensing the solution intermittently. [Diagram showing solution dispensing]
7. Continue until the water tank is empty or the process is complete (approximately 30 minutes). [Diagram showing solution dispensing]
8. Once the decalcification cycle is finished, remove and empty the used container. [➡️]
9. Rinse the water tank thoroughly with fresh water. [Diagram showing rinsing]
10. Refill the water tank with fresh water. [?]
11. Place an empty container under the spout.
12. Press and hold both the Espresso and Lungo buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds to start the rinse cycle. [⏱️ 5 sec]
13. The machine will dispense fresh water. [CLICK]
14. The rinse cycle involves dispensing water for approximately 3 minutes. [⏱️ 3 min]
15. Empty the container and rinse the water tank again.
16. Refill the water tank with fresh water. [?]
17. Repeat the rinse cycle (steps 12-14) at least two more times to ensure all descaling solution is removed.

Milk Preparation (Models BAR303, BAR311)

1. Plug the milk frother into a power outlet. [Power plug icon] ?➡️
2. Remove the lid from the milk frother. [Lid removal diagram] ⬆️
3. Fill the milk frother with milk up to the MAX fill line. [Milk filling diagram] MAX
4. Replace the lid securely. [Lid replacement diagram] ⬇️
5. Press the button to start:
