Assembly and Installation
Module Assembly
The RCA iC60 can be combined with Vigi iC60 modules. This involves clipping the Vigi module onto the RCA iC60. The process is shown for both 2-pole (2P) and 3/4-pole (3P/4P) configurations.
DIN Rail Mounting
Install the assembled RCA iC60 and Vigi iC60 unit onto a standard DIN rail. The installation process includes pushing the unit onto the rail until an audible and tactile [Click!] is heard, indicating secure mounting.
Modes of Operation and Wiring
Control Modes
The RCA iC60 supports different operational modes:
- Mode 1: Local or centralized control for opening/closing the circuit breaker.
- Mode 3: Centralized control with local override capability.
Control signals Y1, Y2, and Y3 (for Ti24 models) manage these operations:
- Y1: Local control (latched or impulse) or authorized by Y3.
- Y2: Local control (impulse or latched).
- Y3 (Ti24): Centralized control (latched).
Reset Authorization (SD Signal)
The behavior of resetting the device after a trip (fault) depends on the SD signal:
- Mode 1 A / Mode 3 A: Resetting by Y1, Y2, or Y3 is authorized ✔️ after a trip when SD = 1.
- Mode 1 B / Mode 3 B: Resetting by Y1, Y2, or Y3 is inhibited ❌ after a trip when SD = 1.
Wiring and Connections
Connect the RCA iC60 and Vigi iC60 according to the wiring diagrams. Key terminals include:
- N/P: Power supply connection.
- Y1, Y2, Y3 (Ti24): Control signal inputs for remote operation.
- SD: Signal for reset authorization/inhibition.
- OF: Output signal indicating device status.
- 24V DC / 0V: Power supply for control circuits.
- PLC Connections: Inputs and outputs for integration with programmable logic controllers.
Connection | Wire Size (mm²) | Torque (N.m) |
---|---|---|
N/P | 0.5 - 10 mm² | - |
Y1, Y2 | 0.5 - 2.5 mm² | - |
OF (11-12 NC, 11-14 NO) | 0.5 - 1.5 mm² | - |
SD, Y3, 24V, 0V | 0.5 - 1.5 mm² | - |
Ti24 (24 V) | 0.5 - 1.5 mm² | - |
Main Power Terminals | 0.5 - 10 mm² | 1 N.m |
Control Terminals | 0.5 - 2.5 mm² | 0.7 N.m |
Functional Features and Safety
Remote Control Capabilities
The RCA iC60 is ready for remote control ▶️ by Y1, Y2, or Y3. Remote control may be impossible under certain conditions, such as thermal auto-protection (Overheat) or if the device is not powered.
Thermal Auto-Protection (Overheat)
? If the time interval between two remote control commands is less than 1 minute, the RCA iC60 may activate thermal auto-protection (Overheat) for a duration of 5 seconds to 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Test and Verification
A TEST function is available to verify the operation of the device.
Safety Warning: Padlocking Device
RISK OF DAMAGING THE RCA IC60 SWITCHGEAR. When the switch is OFF, position the padlocking device in the retracted position before moving the lever. Failure to follow these instructions can result in equipment damage.
Operational Waveforms
The document includes diagrams illustrating the timing of control signals (Y1, Y2, Y3) and the state of the iC60 (ON/OFF) for various operational modes (Mode 1, Mode 3) and configurations. These waveforms help visualize the device's response to different inputs.
