Horizontal Ribbon Mixer
Instructions
1. General Introduction
The Horizontal Ribbon Mixer is designed to mix various powder products. It features a U-Shape tank, spiral, and drive parts, offering a unique design and simple operation. This new type of mixing equipment boasts high efficiency, uniformity, crushing capability, low energy consumption, and minimal contamination. The dual ribbon structure ensures efficient mixing: the outer ribbon moves material from the sides to the center, while the inner ribbon pushes it towards the sides for convective mixing.
It is widely utilized in the food, medicine, chemical, plastics, dyes, and cosmetics industries. The mixers are known for fast mixing, no blind mixing areas, stable running, convenient use, and easy maintenance.
Working principle:
The outer ribbon pushes the material from the two sides to the center.
The inner ribbon pushes the material from the center to both sides.

4. Preparation before operation
All products undergo rigorous testing and inspection before shipment. However, components may become loose or worn during transportation. Upon arrival, carefully inspect the outer packaging and machine surfaces to ensure all parts are present and the machine is in working order.
- Fixing casters or footed glass: Ensure the machine is placed on a flat ground. The machine can be equipped with casters or footed glass for stability.
- Power and air supply: Verify that the power supply and air supply match the requirements.
Note: The machine must be well-grounded. While the electric cabinet has a ground wire, the casters are insulated. Therefore, an additional ground wire is needed to connect the casters to the ground.
- Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the mixing tank before production.
- Power on: Switch the power on.
- Main power switch: Switch the main power switch to the ON position. [power-on-symbol]
- Emergency stop switch: Rotate the emergency stop switch clockwise to enable the power supply. [emergency-stop-button]
- Test ribbon rotation: Press the "ON" button [on-button-symbol] to verify that the ribbon rotates normally and in the correct direction.
- Air supply connection: Connect the air supply.
- Connecting air tube: Connect the air tube to position 1. [air-tube-connection] (Generally, an air pressure of 0.6 pa is acceptable. To adjust air pressure, pull position 2 up and turn right or left as needed.)
- Discharge switch: Switch the discharge switch to the ON position [discharge-switch-on] to check if the discharge valve is functioning correctly.
5. Operation & Setting
- Switch power on: Turn on the main power.
- Main power switch: Set the main power switch to the ON position. [power-on-symbol]
- Emergency stop switch: Rotate the emergency stop switch clockwise to open the power supply. [emergency-stop-button]
- Set mixing time: Set the desired mixing time on the timer. The timer displays time in Hours (H), Minutes (M), and Seconds (S). [timer-display]
- Start mixing: Press the "ON" button [on-button-symbol] to begin mixing. The mixing will automatically stop when the set time elapses.
- Discharge switch: Switch the discharge switch to the ON position [discharge-switch-on]. During this process, the mixing motor can be activated to facilitate material discharge from the bottom.
- Switch discharge to OFF: Turn the discharge switch to the OFF position [discharge-switch-off] to close the pneumatic valve once mixing is complete.
- High-density products: For products with a density greater than 0.8g/cm³, it is recommended to feed them batch by batch after the mixer starts. Starting with a full load may overheat the motor.
6. Optional Functions
1) Spray system
This system includes a pump, nozzles, and a hopper, allowing for the mixing of small amounts of liquid with powder materials.
2) Double jacket cooling or heating function
The mixer can be equipped with a double jacket for temperature control, enabling it to keep materials cold or hot. An additional layer is added outside the tank, and a medium is introduced into the interlayer to achieve the desired temperature. Water is typically used for cooling, while hot steam or electrical heating is used for heating.
7. Attentions
- Please ensure the discharge valve is closed before mixing.
- Cover the lid during mixing to prevent product splashing, which could cause damage or accidents.
- The main shaft must rotate in the regulated direction, not in reverse.
- The current rating of the thermal protection relay should match the motor's rated current to prevent motor damage.
- If abnormal noises such as metal cracking or friction occur during mixing, stop the machine immediately, identify the cause, and fix it before restarting.
- The mixing time can be set between 1-15 minutes, adjustable as per customer requirements.
- The lubricating oil (model: CKC 150) requires periodic replacement. Ensure the black rubber component is removed before use. [oil-replacement-note]
- Cleaning the machine regularly:
- a) Cover the motor, reducer, and control box with a plastic sheet before washing with water.
- b) Dry water droplets using air blowing.
- Periodically change the packing gland. (A video guide can be provided via email upon request.)
