Troubleshooting
Cannot connect the bulb to AiDot App
- Verify the bulb is powered on.
- Ensure your smartphone's Wi-Fi is enabled and connected to a 2.4GHz network (5GHz is not supported).
- Confirm that Bluetooth and GPS are turned on.
- Position your smartphone close to the bulb during the initial network configuration.
- Double-check that the correct Wi-Fi password was entered. Ensure the distance between the bulb and router is less than 50 feet.
- Confirm your home network is stable. If not, try connecting to another phone's hotspot.
Can I use group control with voice assistance?
- Ensure your bulb is connected to Wi-Fi before using voice assistance.
- Configure voice group control within the Alexa, Google Assistant, or SmartThings app.
What is the maximum number of bulbs I can connect via Bluetooth?
Typically, up to 6 bulbs can be connected via Bluetooth, though the exact number may vary depending on your smartphone brand.
How many bulbs can be connected to one phone?
Up to 50 bulbs can be connected to a single phone, provided the network connection is stable.
How to reset the smart bulbs?
Turn the bulb on and off consecutively 6 times, maintaining an interval of 0.5 to 1.5 seconds between each cycle. The bulb will blink twice upon successful reset.
What should I do if the bulb is offline?
- Check if the Wi-Fi SSID or password has been changed. If so, reset the device and re-add it to the AiDot APP with the new credentials. If not changed, try restarting the device.
- Assess the strength of the Wi-Fi connection. If the signal is weak, move the router closer to the device or vice versa. Consider reducing the number of connected devices on your router to lessen Wi-Fi load.
- Ensure the device's voltage supply is stable, as fluctuations can cause reboots and connection issues.
- Check if the router or device has been powered off for an extended period. If so, re-power it. If it was off for a long time, reset the device and re-add it to the AiDot APP.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Linkind Smart Bulbs connect to wall dimmers?
No, Linkind Smart Bulbs cannot be connected to wall dimmers or other variable power devices. Dimming functionality is exclusively managed through the AiDot App or other compatible smart devices.
How to Connect Alexa, Google Home or SmartThings?
Linkind bulbs are not directly discoverable by Alexa. First, connect the bulbs to the AiDot app. Then, integrate the AiDot app with your Alexa app by enabling the "AiDot" skill. After linking accounts, use your voice assistant with the device names assigned in the AiDot app to control the lights (e.g., turn on/off, change colors, dim). Google Home and SmartThings integration follows similar steps.
How to reset the smart bulbs?
Turn the bulb on and off consecutively 6 times, with an interval of 0.5s-1.5s between each action. The bulb will blink twice, confirming a successful reset. After resetting, the device will still appear in the app.
What should I do if the bulb is offline?
Verify if your Wi-Fi SSID or password has changed. If it has, reset the bulb and re-add it to the AiDot APP using the new credentials. If the credentials haven't changed, try restarting the bulb. Check the Wi-Fi signal strength; if it's weak, reposition the router or the bulb. You might also consider reducing the load on your Wi-Fi network by disconnecting less-used devices. Ensure the power supply voltage is stable, as inconsistent voltage can cause the bulb to reboot. Finally, check if the device or router has been powered off for a prolonged period; if so, re-power it, or reset and re-add the device if it was off for a long time.
