However, it is still possible that you may experience interference caused by power line disturbances, airport metal detectors, electromagnetic fields from other medical devices, radio signals and electrostatic discharges. The Table Microphone is designed to be cleaned with a damp cloth moistened with soapy water. If you use medical devices or wear implantable medical devices such as defibrillators or pacemakers and are concerned that your Table Microphone might cause interference with your medical device, please contact your physician or the manufacturer of your medical device for information about the risk of disturbance. The Table Microphone should not be used during an MRI procedure or in a hyperbaric chamber. The Table Microphone is not formally certified to operate in explosive atmospheres such as may be found in coal mines or certain chemical factories. Use on Aircrafts The Table Microphone should not be used on aircrafts unless specifically permitted by the flight personnel. International Use The Table Microphone is approved to operate at radio frequencies that are specific to your country or region and might not be approved for use outside your country or region. Magnetic interface for hanger To use for remote microphone mode. 1 2 3 4 8 10 5 7 6 9 1 10 | Get to know your Table Microphone Set up your Table Mic Power ON/OFF Use the power button to turn your Table Mic ON or OFF: · ON press the power button for 3 seconds and release. The green segments will light one by one to indicate the battery charge level. · NOTE: If the Table Mic needs to be charged, see Charge your Table Mic on p. 20. · The center circle LED will illuminate as well as one segment on either side as the table mic connects to your hearing aids. This may take approximately 5 seconds. · OFF press the power button for 3 seconds and release. Segments will light up green and turn off one by one while device powers down. To pair with hearing aids: Before using your Table Mic for the first time, you'll need to pair it with your hearing aid(s). This allows your accessory to recognize your hearing aids so they can work together. STEP 1: Turn ON your Table Mic. Get to know your Table Microphone | 11 STEP 2: Turn your hearing aids OFF and ON. · If your hearing aid is rechargeable, place it in the charger for 3 seconds and remove. If your hearing aid has a battery, open and close the battery door. · For CROS hearing aid systems: Turn OFF your hearing aid and CROS transmitter. Next, turn ON your hearing aid but leave the CROS transmitter OFF. STEP 3: Pair your Table Mic with your hearing aid(s): 1. Ensure your hearing aids are not connected to nearby Bluetooth® devices: · Turn OFF Bluetooth on your mobile phone. · Turn OFF any wireless accessories already paired to your hearing aids. 2. Place your hearing aids within 6 inches (15 cm) of your Table Mic. 3. Press the hearing aid pairing button for 2 seconds and place the Table Mic face up on a stable surface with the power button and volume buttons facing you. Get to know your Table Microphone | 13 Use your Table Mic Your Table Mic is an assistive listening device. It streams audio directly to your wireless hearing aids. Key use modes: · Table Microphone: streaming voices from around the table. It can automatically detect the direction of the voice or can be manually set in a specific direction. To manually select microphone direction, touch a segment to illuminate the LED. Tap the middle circle to return the device to automatic. · Remote microphone: streaming the voice of the person wearing the Table Mic. For details, see How to Wear your Table Mic on p. 19. To use your Table Mic: STEP 1: Check that your hearing aids are ON. Reminder Before streaming audio for the first time, ensure your hearing aids are paired to your Table Mic. See p. 10. NOTE: Typical wireless operating range is up to 50 feet (15m). This may be shortened by environmental factors (e.g., obstructions, interference, position of people). Wider operating ranges may be possible, however, your audio or connection quality may decrease. 14 | Get to know your Table Microphone STEP 2: Start/stop streaming audio. · Turn On the Table Mic: Audio streaming automatically starts in hearing aid. · Turn Off the Table Mic: Audio streaming automatically stops in hearing aid. STEP 3: Adjust the streaming volume. Do one of the following: · Press the Volume up (+) or down (-) button on the Table Mic. · Move the volume slider on the Accessories screen of your compatible mobile app. · Press (or tap) your hearing aid user controls.* STEP 4: Phone or media stream interruption: · If you receive a phone call or start a stream from your phone your table microphone stream will be interrupted. · The center circle LED will illuminate as well as one segment on either side during the interruption. · When the phone call or media stream ends, the table microphone stream will restart. The LEDs will return to previous state. *If it has been set up to control volume by your professional. Get to know your Table Microphone | 15 Segments The segments identify how your Table Mic is currently operating. Operational Product orientation For best performance, make sure the Table Mic Volume and Power buttons are facing you. Volume + Green top segment illuminates when volume is increased. Volume Green bottom segment illuminates when volume is decreased. 16 | Get to know your Table Microphone Pairing Hearing Aid Blinking blue brackets Searching for hearing aid(s). Solid green brackets Hearing aid pairing successful. Solid red brackets Hearing aid pairing unsuccessful. See p. 10 for details on pairing a set of hearing aids or a single hearing aid. Get to know your Table Microphone | 17 Conversation Streaming Automatic Automatic mode indicator - five segments light up blue, one is brighter to indicate the direction of focus. Manual Up to eight blue segments indicate selected listening direction(s). Surround All blue segments indicate listening in all directions. Mute Manually close all segments, the middle circle will be illuminated. Tap the middle circle and the device will return to Automatic - 5 segments illuminated. 18 | Get to know your Table Microphone Tabletop Place your Table Mic in the middle of a table to listen to a group of people. For best speech understanding, always bring your Table Mic as close to the conversation partner(s) as possible. Automatic Five segments light up blue, one is brighter to indicate the direction of focus. The Table Mic follows the main speaker automatically. Tap the middle to return the device to Automatic from any other mode. Manual single speaker Tap segments to focus on a specific speaker. Multi-speaker Tap additional segments to focus on an additional speakers. Surround Tap all segments to listen to multiple people in quiet settings. Tap the middle to return to Automatic mode. Get to know your Table Microphone | 19 Wearing the Table Mic Your Table Mic can be worn on a lanyard, using the hanger provided, by the person speaking. It's best to place it within 8 inches (20 cm) of the speaker's mouth. Lanyard instructions: 1. Attach the magnetic hanger to the back of the Table Mic. Make sure the hanger is attached and secure. 2. Place lanyard around the neck. To adjust the length, hold the cylinder and pull the closure. 3. When the Table Mic is worn by the speaker the top indicator will light up for 3 seconds. 20 | Get to know your Table Microphone How your Table Mic helps Conversation Streaming Modes The Table Mic is a versatile, intelligent product. It follows the main speaker in quiet or noisy settings automatically to provide you the best speech understanding possible. The Table Mic allows you to override the automatic mode and manually any or all of the 8 segments. The Surround mode is optimized for a large group discussion in quiet settings. In addition, the Table Mic can be worn by a distant speaker in noisy settings. Charge your Table Mic To charge your Table Mic: 1. Attach the USB-C end of the charging cable to the USB-C jack on your Table Mic. 2. Attach the USB end of the charging cable to the jack on the power adapter. 3. Plug the power adapter into an external power source, like a wall outlet. 4. Check the charging status using the segments on your Table Mic. See next page. Get to know your Table Microphone | 21 Segment status Charging status Green segments indicate battery charge level. The blinking green segment indicates the current level. All green segments will illuminate when the battery is fully charged. Orange segments indicate less than 2 hours of battery life. Red segment indicates less than 1 hour of battery life. Blinking red segment indicates a dead battery. A full charge powers the Table Mic for up to 10 hours of streaming. Your Table Mic will fully charge in about 2 hours. 22 | Troubleshooting guide Troubleshooting guide Problems with your Table Mic? Try these tips. If issues continue, contact your hearing care professional. Symptom Possible causes Solutions Hearing aids may be on the edge of wireless range. Move closer to Table Mic. One (or both) hearing aids unexpectedly drops out of audio streaming. Battery level in hearing aid can no longer support audio streaming. · Replace hearing aid battery with a new one, if applicable. · Recharge your hearing aid, if applicable. Large object, such as furniture or a wall, may be degrading signal. For best performance, your hearing aids should be within line-of-sight of Table Mic. Wireless connection with Table Mic was lost. To restart the audio stream, follow steps in the Start/Stop Audio Streaming on p. 14. Hearing aid out of sync. Power hearing aid off and then back on. Symptom Troubleshooting guide | 23 Possible causes Solutions Low battery level in Table Mic. Streamed audio quality is distorted. Hearing aids may be on the edge of wireless range. Recharge Table Mic. See Charge your Table Mic on p. 20. Move closer to Table Mic. Audio stream is too loud or too soft. Volume streamed from Table Mic to hearing aid not optimal. Press volume + or button on Table Mic. Table Mic Mode: Difficult to hear speaker in noisy environments. Table Mic may be too far from speaker.
