General Installation Guidelines
- Do not install behind a decorative door to avoid overheating.
- The range must be grounded.
- Installation must comply with local building and electricity regulations.
- Ensure the installer shows the customer where the gas supply shut-off valve is located.
- A circuit breaker is recommended.
- If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified person.
- Do not use adaptors, reducers, or branching devices for the oven's electricity supply.
- Read all instructions thoroughly before installation or servicing.
- Ensure the appliance is installed in accordance with installation instructions to prevent tipping.
- Do not obstruct combustion or ventilation air flow. Ensure fresh air supply is available.
- Check local building codes for installation requirements. In the absence of local codes, follow National Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1 and National Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70 (US), or CAN/CGA B149.1 & 2 and CSA C22.1 (Canada).
- Do not lift the range by the door handle.
- Ensure all doors are correctly installed before use.
- Keep the appliance area clear of combustible materials, gasoline, and flammable vapors.
Servicing
Only a Fisher & Paykel trained and supported service technician or qualified person should perform servicing. Disconnect power before servicing.
Gas Requirements
- LP Gas: Connection: 1/2" NPT, 5/8" dia. flex line. Supply Pressure: 11"-14" W.C. A regulator is required at the LP source.
- Natural Gas: Connection: 1/2" NPT, 5/8" dia. flex line. Supply Pressure: 6"-9" W.C.
- Gas supply connections must be made by a qualified technician according to local codes.
- A manual shut-off valve must be installed in an accessible location in the gas line, within 6 feet (1.8 meters) of the appliance.
- Ensure the gas supply is turned off at the wall valve before connecting.
- Leak-testing must be conducted according to manufacturer instructions. Use soapy water solution, not an open flame.
- The flex line must be metal and approved for appliance use.
- Ensure sufficient flex line length for pulling the range out for cleaning or servicing.
Electrical Requirements
- The electrical supply must be a correctly polarized 120 VAC, 60 Hz, single phase circuit suitable for the maximum current draw of the model.
- The appliance is factory equipped with a three-prong grounding plug.
- If the circuit does not have a grounding type receptacle, it must be replaced by a qualified electrician.
- The third prong must not be cut or removed.
- The range must be connected by a qualified person and must be grounded.
- Always disconnect the electric supply before servicing.
- Observe all codes and ordinances when grounding.

Product Dimensions
Detailed dimensions for 30", 36", and 48" models are provided, including height, width, depth, and clearances for cabinetry and ventilation. Refer to the diagrams for specific measurements.
Cabinetry Dimensions
Specifications for cabinetry installation, including height, depth, and width requirements for 30", 36", and 48" models, are detailed. Clearances for wall and island installations are also provided.
Backguard Considerations
Information on backguard options and installation requirements based on wall surface (combustible or non-combustible) is provided. Specific backguards are recommended for installations close to combustible surfaces.
Ventilation Requirements
- Consult local codes for ducting requirements (single or double wall).
- Hood blower speeds should be variable.
- A source of make-up air is recommended, especially for tightly sealed homes.
Ventilation recommendations for hoods and blowers for wall and island installations are provided, including minimum CFM requirements for different range sizes.
Unpacking the Range
- Remove Toe Kick: Remove screws, lift and rotate toe kick.
- Remove Doors: Open hinges fully, lift door to 45°, and carefully pull away from hinges.
- Remove from Pallet: Remove front and rear bolts/brackets. Remove lower guard if necessary. Use two people for handling.
Installation Steps
Toe Kick Installation
- Insert foot covers into the toe kick with the long hem edge facing inward.
- Align toe kick with side panels and clip into place.
- Secure with two screws.
Levelling the Range
- Expose front feet by sliding interlocking covers.
- Turn feet to adjust height.
- Replace covers, ensuring they lock together.
Prior to Final Positioning
- Ensure doors and toe kick are securely in place.
- Ensure any backguard is fitted.
- Ensure all electrical and gas connections are completed.
- Ensure flooring and adjacent cabinetry are level.
Cooktop Burners
- Test ignition system by lighting each burner individually and in combination.
- Check for a well-defined blue flame without yellow tipping.
- If abnormalities occur, check burner assembly alignment.
- Align burner port ring with locating pins and notch.
- Incorrect installation can lead to dangerous flames.
- No air shutter adjustment is possible on cooktop burners.
- Contact Customer Care or an authorized service center if proper operation cannot be obtained.
- The range must not be used until proper operation is achieved.
Leak Testing
- Ensure all knobs are OFF before connecting to gas supply.
- Turn gas supply on and test all connections for leaks using a soapy water solution.
- Never use a lit match or open flame to check for leaks.
- If a leak is present, tighten the joint, reapply compound if necessary, and retest.
Infrared Broil and Oven Bake Burners
- The infrared broiler burner has no adjustable air shutter.
- Operate the oven broiler for 20-30 minutes with proper ventilation to eliminate initial odors.
- The burner screen should glow red after 5-8 minutes.
- The oven bake burner has an adjustable air shutter.
- Check for proper flame characteristics (blue, stable, no yellow tips, no excessive noise or lifting).
- Adjust air shutter if necessary: open for too yellow a flame (insufficient air), close for noisy or lifting flame (too much air).
- Fisher & Paykel requires all burner adjustments to be made by a qualified technician at installation to avoid voiding the warranty.
Grill and Griddle Burners (Some Models Only)
- Each valve and air shutter is individually tested. Adjustment is usually not required.
- Check for proper flame characteristics and adjust air shutters if necessary.
- If conditions persist, adjust air shutter as described for oven bake burners.
Installing the Anti-Tip Bracket
WARNING! To reduce the risk of tipping, the appliance must be secured by the anti-tip device.
- A child or adult can tip the range and be killed.
- Install the anti-tip device to the structure by fastening the supplied bracket to the floor and wall.
- Engage the anti-tip device. Re-engage if the range is moved.
- Ensure the device is properly engaged when pushing the range back against the wall.
Installation for Wood Substrate:
- Place bracket against the back wall, in the right rear corner. Leave a 1/2" (13mm) gap between the wall and the bracket.
- Drill 1/8" pilot holes in the center of the two small holes.
- Fasten the bracket securely to the floor and wall.
Installation for Concrete or Cement Substrate:
- Locate the bracket. Drill (x2) 5/16" pilot holes to a depth of at least 1 3/4".
- Place sleeve anchors into the holes and tap them in with a hammer.
- Tighten nuts on the sleeve anchors to fasten the bracket securely to the floor.
Check for proper installation by attempting to tilt the range forward.
