Product Overview
The Altronix EBC48 is an external battery charger designed for rapid charging of 48VDC backup batteries. It is ideal for integration with Altronix NetWay Spectrum Hardened Switches and POE240 or POE360/POE367 power supplies, capable of recharging a 32AH battery in under 8 hours.
This charger is suitable for applications where constant power is unavailable, such as remote locations like light poles. In such scenarios, the battery can power devices (up to 100W total) for up to 16 hours. When power is restored, it is routed to the devices first, with any excess energy used for rapid battery recharging. The EBC48 offers a cost-effective alternative to expensive solar deployments or trenching for traditional electrical connectivity.
The unit features a visual indicator system (LEDs) for power status and battery trouble, along with Form "C" contacts for AC failure and low/missing battery supervision.
