They contain important information concerning safety, use and disposal . Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use . Only use the product as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it .
Intended use
This product is designed for:
hammer drilling into concrete, brickwork and stone
light chiselling work
drilling into wood, plywood, fiberboard plastic and metal
The product is not intended to handle heavy drilling works exceeding the maximum drilling capacity (see "Technical data").
Always use the correct type of bit and accessories according to the intended use .
Observe the technical requirements of this product (see "Technical data") when purchasing and using accessory tools!
Any other use or modification of the product are considered improper use and can result in hazards such as death, life-threatening injuries and damage .
The manufacturer is not liable for any damages caused by improper use .
The product is exclusively intended for domestic use .

General power tool safety warnings

u Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool.Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury .
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mainsoperated (corded) power tool or batteryoperated (cordless) power tool .
Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents .
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes .
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control .
Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock .
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded .
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock .
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock .
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock .

f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock .
Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired
or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury .
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries .
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the offposition before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents .
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury .
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations .
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts .
g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards .
h) Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools allow you to become complacent and ignore tool safety principles. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a second .
Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed .
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired .
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally .
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users .

e) Maintain power tools diligently. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other
condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools .
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control .
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of
the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation .
h) Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations .

Safety instructions for all operations
Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained .

u This product produces an electromagnetic field during operation! This field may under some circumstances interfere with active or passive medical implants! To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury, we recommend persons with medical implants to consult their doctor and the medical implant manufacturer before operating this product!
Wear ear protectors. Exposure to noise can cause hearing loss .
Use auxiliary handle(s), if supplied with the tool. Loss of control can cause personal injury .
Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the cutting accessory or fasteners may contact hidden wiring. Cutting accessory or fasteners contacting a "live" wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool "live" and could give the operator an electric shock .

Safety instructions when using long drill bits with rotary hammers
Always start drilling at low speed and with the bit tip in contact with the workpiece. At higher speeds, the bit is likely to bend if allowed to rotate freely without contacting the workpiece, resulting in personal injury .
Apply pressure only in direct line with the bit and do not apply excessive pressure. Bits can bend, causing breakage or loss of control, resulting in personal injury .
Additional safety information
Use suitable detectors to determine if there are hidden supply lines or contact the local utility company for assistance. Contact with electric cables can cause fire and electric shock . Damaging gas lines can lead to explosion . Breaking water pipes causes property damage .
Always wait until the power tool has come to a complete stop before placing it down. The application tool can jam and cause you to lose control of the power tool .
Secure the workpiece. A workpiece clamped with clamping devices or in a vice is held more secure than by hand .
Do not touch any application tools or adjacent housing components shortly after operation. These can become very hot during operation and cause burns .
The application tool may jam during drilling. Make sure you have a stable footing and hold the power tool firmly with both hands. Otherwise you could lose control of the power tool .

"Technical data"). If you are not certain, ask a qualified specialist and get advice from your trusted dealer .

u Secure or fasten the workpiece during drilling operations by using a clamp, lockable pliers or a vice . Only perform drilling works to a workpiece that is securely fastened .
Adjusting the auxiliary handle
NOTE u For safety reasons, only use this
product with the auxiliary handle [8] attached .
1 . Loosen the strap on the auxiliary handle [8] by turning it anticlockwise .
2 . Turn the auxiliary handle [8] into a proper angle depending on your working position .
3 . Turn the auxiliary handle [8] clockwise to tighten it .
Installing the depth stop
1 . Loosen the depth stop screw [13] . 2 . Insert the depth stop [12] into the
auxiliary handle [8] . 3 . Pull the depth stop [12] out until the
distance between the tip of drilling tools and the tip of the depth stop corresponds with the required drilling depth .
4 . Tighten the depth stop screw [13] to lock the depth stop [12] .

o Use the SDS-Plus tool holder [11] to change tools quickly and easily without the need for any additional tools .
o The SDS-Plus drilling tool moves freely (depending on the system). This leads to a radial run-out deviation while idling . This has no effect on the accuracy of the drill hole as the drill centres itself during drilling .
o The dust protection cap [10] largely prevents the entry of drilling dust into SDSPlus tool holder [11] during operation . Ensure that the dust protection cap does not get damaged when fitting tools.
NOTE
u A damaged dust protection cap [10] must be replaced immediately . Contact a customer service workshop .
Fitting an SDS tool
1 . Grease the SDS-Plus tool holder [11] slightly before inserting the tool .
2 . Insert the tool rotatingly into the SDS-Plus tool holder [11] until it clicks into place .
3 . Check that the tool is properly locked by pulling it . The system has radial play because of the design .
Removing an SDS tool
o Pull the locking collar [9] backwards to remove the tool .
Selecting operating mode
o Press and hold the release button [6] on the mode selection knob [7] . Turn the mode selection knob so that the arrow mark points to the corresponding symbol .

(chiselling).

switch [1] only when the product is at a standstill .
o Use the rotation direction switch [1] to change the direction of rotation of the power tool . This is not possible while the switch trigger [2] is pressed down .
o Clockwise: Push the rotation direction switch [1] to the left as far as possible .
o Anti-clockwise: Push the rotation direction switch [1] to the right as far as possible .
Switching on/off
o Insert the mains plug [5] into a socket-outlet .
Switching on o Press the switch trigger [2] .
o Do not switch the power tool on unless you plan to use it, to save energy .
Switching off o Release the switch trigger [2] .
o At low temperatures, the power tool only reaches its full hammer performance/strike power after a certain time .
Continuous operation o Press the switch trigger [2] . At the same
time, press the lock button [3] to lock the switch trigger .
o To cancel continuous operation, press the switch trigger [2] briefly and release it .
NOTE
u The switch trigger [2] has a variable speed control function .
1 . Press the switch trigger [2] lightly to select a low speed .
2 . Increase the pressure on the switch trigger [2] to increase the speed .
Troubleshooting

NOTE
u Do not use chemical, alkaline, abrasive or other aggressive detergents or disinfectants to clean this product as they might be harmful to its surfaces .
u Never allow fluids to get into the product .
u The product must always be kept clean, dry and free from oil or grease . Remove debris from it after each use and before storage .
u Regular and proper cleaning will help ensure safe use and prolong the life of the product .
o Clean the product with a dry cloth . Use a soft brush for areas that are hard to reach .
o In particular clean the air vents after every use with a cloth and soft brush .
The air vents must always be clear .
o Clean the SDS-Plus tool holder [11] regularly and grease it lightly .
Maintenance
o Check the product and accessories (e.g. tools) for wear and damage before and after each use . Replace them with new ones if necessary . Observe the technical requirements (see "Technical data").
Repair

u If the mains cord [5] is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard .
o This product does not contain any parts that can be repaired by the user . Contact an authorised service centre or a similarly qualified person to have it checked and repaired .
Storage
o Switch off the product. Let the product cool down .
o Clean the product (see "Cleaning"). o Store the product and its accessories
in a dark, dry, frost-free, well-ventilated place .
o Always store the product in a place that is inaccessible to children .

Arbeitsplatzsicherheit
a) Halten Sie Ihren Arbeitsbereich sauber und gut beleuchtet. Unordnung oder unbeleuchtete Arbeitsbereiche können zu Unfällen führen .

Elektrische Sicherheit
a) Der Anschlussstecker des Elektro werkzeuges muss in die Steckdose passen. Der Stecker darf in keiner Weise verändert werden. Verwenden Sie keine Adapterstecker gemein sam mit schutzgeerdeten Elektro werkzeugen. Unveränderte Stecker und passende Steckdosen verringern das Risiko eines elektrischen Schlages .
b) Vermeiden Sie Körperkontakt mit geerdeten Oberflächen wie von Rohren, Heizungen, Herden und Kühlschränken. Es besteht ein erhöhtes Risiko durch elektrischen Schlag, wenn Ihr Körper geerdet ist .
c) Halten Sie Elektrowerkzeuge von Regen oder Nässe fern. Das Eindringen von Wasser in ein Elektrowerkzeug erhöht das Risiko eines elektrischen Schlages .
d) Zweckentfremden Sie die Anschlussleitung nicht, um das Elektrowerkzeug zu tragen, aufzuhängen oder um den Stecker aus der Steckdose zu ziehen. Halten Sie die Anschlussleitung fern von Hitze, Öl, scharfen Kanten oder sich bewegenden Geräteteilen. Beschädigte oder verwickelte Anschlussleitungen erhöhen das Risiko eines elektrischen Schlages .

Sicherheit von Personen
a) Seien Sie aufmerksam, achten Sie darauf, was Sie tun, und gehen Sie mit Vernunft an die Arbeit mit einem Elektrowerkzeug. Benutzen Sie kein Elektrowerkzeug, wenn Sie müde sind oder unter dem
Einfluss von Drogen, Alkohol oder Medikamenten stehen. Ein Moment der Unachtsamkeit beim Gebrauch des Elektrowerkzeuges kann zu ernsthaften Verletzungen führen .
b) Tragen Sie persönliche Schutz ausrüstung und immer eine Schutz brille. Das Tragen persönlicher Schutzausrüstung, wie Staubmaske, rutschfeste Sicherheitsschuhe, Schutzhelm oder Gehörschutz, je nach Art und Einsatz des Elektrowerkzeuges, verringert das Risiko von Verletzungen .
c) Vermeiden Sie eine unbeabsichtigte Inbetriebnahme. Vergewissern Sie sich, dass das Elektrowerkzeug ausgeschaltet ist, bevor Sie es an die Stromversorgung und/oder den Akku anschließen, es aufnehmen oder tragen. f) Tragen Sie geeignete Kleidung. Tragen Sie keine weite Kleidung oder Schmuck. Halten Sie Haare, Kleidung und Handschuhe fern von sich bewegenden Teilen. Lockere Kleidung, Schmuck oder lange Haare können von sich bewegenden Teilen erfasst werden .
g) Wenn Staubabsaug- und -auffangeinrichtungen montiert werden können, sind diese anzuschließen und richtig zu verwenden. Verwendung einer Staubabsaugung kann Gefährdungen durch Staub verringern .
h) Wiegen Sie sich nicht in falscher Sicherheit und setzen Sie sich nicht über die Sicherheitsregeln für Elektrowerkzeuge hinweg, auch wenn Sie nach vielfachem Gebrauch mit dem Elektrowerkzeug vertraut sind. Achtloses Handeln kann binnen Sekundenbruchteilen zu schweren Verletzungen führen .
Verwendung und Behandlung des Elektrowerkzeugs
a) Überlasten Sie das Elektro werkzeug nicht. Verwenden Sie für Ihre Arbeit das dafür bestimmte Elektrowerkzeug. Mit dem passenden Elektrowerkzeug arbeiten Sie besser und sicherer im angegebenen Leistungsbereich .
b) Benutzen Sie kein Elektrowerkzeug, dessen Schalter defekt ist. Ein Elektrowerkzeug, das sich nicht mehr ein- oder ausschalten lässt, ist gefährlich und muss repariert werden .
c) Ziehen Sie den Stecker aus der Steckdose und/oder entfernen Sie einen abnehmbaren Akku, bevor Sie Geräteeinstellungen vornehmen, Einsatzwerkzeugteile wechseln oder das Elektrowerkzeug weglegen. Diese Vorsichtsmaßnahme verhindert den unbeabsichtigten Start des Elektrowerkzeuges .
d) Bewahren Sie unbenutzte Elektro werkzeuge außerhalb der Reichwei te von Kindern auf. Lassen Sie keine Personen das Elektrowerkzeug be nutzen, die mit diesem nicht vertraut sind oder diese Anweisungen nicht gelesen haben. Sicherheitshinweise bei Verwendung langer Bohrer mit Bohrhämmern
Beginnen Sie den Bohrvorgang immer mit niedriger Drehzahl und während das Bohrwerkzeug Kontakt mit dem Werkstück hat. Bei höheren Drehzahlen kann sich der Bohrer leicht verbiegen, wenn er sich ohne Kontakt mit dem Werkstück frei drehen kann, und zu Verletzungen führen .
Üben Sie keinen übermäßigen Druck und nur in Längsrichtung zum Bohrwerkzeug aus. Bohrer können sich verbiegen und dadurch brechen oder zu einem Verlust der Kontrolle und zu Verletzungen führen .
Zusätzliche Sicherheitshinweise
Verwenden Sie geeignete Such geräte, um verborgene Versor gungsleitungen aufzuspüren, oder ziehen Sie die örtliche Versorgungsgesellschaft hinzu. Kontakt mit Elektroleitungen kann zu Feuer und elektrischem Schlag führen . Beschädigung einer Gasleitung kann zur Explosion führen . Eindringen in eine Wasserleitung verursacht Sachbeschädigung .

1 . Lösen Sie den Riemen am Zusatzgriff [8], indem Sie ihn entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn drehen .
2 . Drehen Sie den Zusatzgriff [8] je nach Arbeitsposition in einen geeigneten Winkel .
3 . Drehen Sie den Zusatzgriff [8] im Uhrzeigersinn, um ihn festzuziehen .

Tiefenanschlag montieren
1 . Lösen Sie die Tiefenanschlagschraube [13] .
2 . Stecken Sie den Tiefenanschlag [12] in den Zusatzgriff [8] .
3 . Ziehen Sie den Tiefenanschlag [12] heraus, bis der Abstand zwischen der Spitze der Bohrwerkzeuge und der Spitze des Tiefenanschlags der benötigten Bohrtiefe entspricht .
4 . Ziehen Sie die Tiefenanschlagschraube [13] fest, um den Tiefenanschlag [12] zu verriegeln .

o Mit der SDS-Plus-Werkzeugaufnahme [11] können Sie das Einsatzwerkzeug einfach und bequem ohne Verwendung zusätzlicher Werkzeuge wechseln .
o Das SDS-Plus-Einsatzwerkzeug ist systembedingt frei beweglich . Dadurch entsteht beim Leerlauf eine Rundlaufabweichung . Dies hat keine Auswirkungen auf die Genauigkeit des Bohrlochs, da sich der Bohrer beim Bohren selbst zentriert .
o Die Staubschutzkappe [10] verhindert weitgehend das Eindringen von Bohrstaub in die SDS-PlusWerkzeugaufnahme [11] während des Betriebes . Achten Sie beim Einsetzen des Einsatzwerkzeuges darauf, dass die Staubschutzkappe nicht beschädigt wird .
HINWEIS u Eine beschädigte
Staubschutzkappe [10] ist sofort zu ersetzen . Wenden Sie sich an eine Kundendienstwerkstatt .
SDSWerkzeug
1 . Fetten Sie vor dem Einsetzen des Einsatzwerkzeugs die SDS-Plus-Werkzeugaufnahme [11] leicht ein .
2 . Setzen Sie das Einsatzwerkzeug drehend in die SDS-Plus-Werkzeugaufnahme [11] ein, bis es hörbar einrastet .
3 . Überprüfen Sie durch Ziehen des Einsatzwerkzeugs die einwandfreie Verriegelung . Das Einsatzwerkzeug hat systembedingt ein radiales Spiel .
SDSWerkzeug entnehmen
o Ziehen Sie die Verriegelungshülse [9] nach hinten und entnehmen Sie das Einsatzwerkzeug .
Betriebsart wählen
o Halten Sie die Entriegelungstaste [6] am Moduswahlschalter [7] gedrückt . Drehen Sie den Moduswahlschalter, sodass die Pfeilmarkierung auf das entsprechende Symbol zeigt .

Meißelposition anpassen Um das Einsatzwerkzeug in die benötigte Position zum Meißeln zu drehen, gehen Sie wie folgt vor:
1 . Drehen Sie den Moduswahlschalter [7] auf (Meißelposition anpassen).
2 . Drehen Sie das Einsatzwerkzeug in der SDS-Plus-Werkzeugaufnahme [11] in die benötigte Position .
3 . Drehen Sie den Moduswahlschalter [7] auf (Meißeln).
Drehrichtung einstellen
HINWEIS u Betätigen Sie den Drehrichtungs-
umschalter [1] nur bei Stillstand des Elektrowerkzeuges .
Ausschalten o Lassen Sie den Schalterauslöser [2] los . o Bei niedrigen Temperaturen erreicht
das Elektrowerkzeug erst nach einer gewissen Zeit die volle Hammerleistung/ Schlagleistung .
Dauerbetrieb o Drücken Sie den Schalterauslöser [2] .
Drücken Sie gleichzeitig die Sperrtaste [3], um den Schalterauslöser zu verriegeln .
o Um den Dauerbetrieb abzubrechen, drücken Sie den Schalterauslöser [2] leicht und lassen Sie ihn wieder los .
Drehzahl einstellen
HINWEIS
u Der Schalterauslöser [2] verfügt über eine variable Drehzahlregelung .
o Verwenden Sie den Drehrichtungsumschalter [1], um die Drehrichtung des Elektrowerkzeugs zu ändern . Bei gedrücktem Schalterauslöser [2] ist dies nicht möglich .
o Rechtslauf: Drücken Sie den Drehrichtungsumschalter [1] nach links bis zum Anschlag durch .
o Linkslauf: Drücken Sie den Drehrichtungsumschalter [1] nach rechts bis zum Anschlag durch .
1 . Drücken Sie den Schalterauslöser [2] leicht, um eine niedrige Geschwindigkeit zu wählen .
2 . Erhöhen Sie den Druck auf den Schalterauslöser [2], um die Geschwindigkeit zu erhöhen .
