Overview
Your remote control is compatible with Security+ 3.0™ products, which feature a white LEARN button on the garage door opener. Images in this manual are for reference only; your product may look different.
WARNING: Safety Precautions
To prevent serious injury or death from a moving gate or garage door:
- Always keep remote controls out of reach of children.
- Never permit children to operate or play with remote control transmitters.
- Activate the gate or door only when it can be seen clearly, is properly adjusted, and has no obstructions to its travel.
- Always keep the gate or garage door in sight until completely closed.
- Never permit anyone to cross the path of a moving gate or door.

Programming the Remote
This section details how to program your remote control to your garage door opener.
Preparation
- Read through the instructions carefully.
- Pay attention to time-sensitive instructions indicated by an hourglass icon [hourglass icon].
- Ensure the garage door is clear of all obstructions.
- Make sure the garage door opener has a working light, which is needed for programming.
Options to Program Remote to Your Garage Door Opener
There are three methods to program your remote:
- Using the myQ App: Tap the myQ app icon.
- Using the Garage Door Opener's LEARN Button: Tap the LEARN button icon.
- Using the Garage Door Opener's Control Panel: Tap the control panel icon.
Program Remote Using the myQ App
Highly Recommended: Connect your garage door opener to the myQ app to unlock features like remote naming, notifications, and access history.
- Verify your garage door opener has a white LEARN button.
- Tap or scan the QR code [QR code] with your smart device to download the myQ app.
- Follow the instructions within the app to connect to your garage door opener.
- Once connected, scan the QR code on the reverse side of your remote and follow the programming instructions in the myQ app.
After programming via the myQ app, you can name your remote, view access history, and receive notifications when the remote activates the opener.
Program Remote Using the LEARN Button
IMPORTANT: Read through all programming steps before you start.
- Locate the LEARN button on your garage door opener (a ladder may be required). Press and immediately release the LEARN button. The LEARN button LED will illuminate.
- Within 30 seconds, press and hold the remote button you wish to program. Release the button when the garage door opener lights flash and/or two audible clicks are heard. (Indicated by "CL"ICCL"IC" sound).
To test if your remote has programmed successfully, press the programmed button.
Program Remote Using the Control Panel
IMPORTANT: Read through all programming steps before you start.
- Set your garage door opener into programming mode by following the instructions for your specific control panel model:
- Push Button Door Control: Lift the push bar. Press the LEARN button twice. The LED on the door control panel will pulse repeatedly.
- Smart Control Panel: Select MENU, then select PROGRAM, and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Push Button (alternative method): Press and hold the light button, then press and release the push button. The button LED will begin to flash.
- Within 30 seconds, press and hold the remote button you wish to program. Release the button when the garage door opener lights flash and/or two audible clicks are heard. (Indicated by "CL"ICCL"IC" sound).
To test if your remote has programmed successfully, press the programmed button.
Test Your Remote Has Programmed Successfully
TEST FOR SUCCESS: Press the remote button that you programmed. The garage door opener should activate.
If the garage door opener does not activate, wait for the garage door opener's LEARN button LED to turn off (this may take up to 3 minutes). Then, repeat the programming steps.
Replacing the Battery
The LED on your remote control will stop flashing when the battery is low, or you may notice a low battery charge level in the myQ app. Replace the battery with a 3V CR2032 coin cell battery only. Dispose of the old battery properly.
Battery Replacement Steps:
- On the back side of the remote, use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to unscrew the captive screw until it rotates freely.
- With the remote button side up, pry open the remote top housing from the bottom housing. (If the housing won't separate, ensure the captive screw is rotating freely). Note: The logic board may detach; carefully replace it using the guiding holes.
- Using a cotton swab, push the old battery out of its holder towards the nearest edge.
- Insert the replacement battery with the positive side (+) facing up.
- Align the remote top and bottom housing so they clip together. Tighten the captive screw until the housing no longer shifts (do not overtighten to avoid cracking the plastic).
WARNING: Ingestion Hazard
This product contains a button cell battery. Swallowing a button cell battery can cause internal chemical burns in as little as 2 hours, leading to death or serious injury. Keep new and used batteries OUT OF REACH of CHILDREN. Seek immediate medical attention if a battery is suspected to have been swallowed or inserted inside any part of the body.
WARNING: Battery Handling and Disposal
- Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of used batteries according to local regulations and keep them away from children. Do NOT dispose of batteries in household trash or incinerate them.
- Even used batteries may cause severe injury or death.
- Ensure batteries are installed correctly according to polarity (+ and -).
- Do not mix old and new batteries, or different brands or types of batteries (e.g., alkaline, carbon-zinc, or rechargeable).
- Call a local poison control center for treatment information.

- Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
- Do not force discharge, recharge, disassemble, heat above specified temperatures, or incinerate batteries, as this may result in injury from venting, leakage, or explosion causing chemical burns.
- Remove and recycle/dispose of batteries from equipment not used for extended periods according to local regulations.
- Always completely secure the battery compartment. If it does not close securely, stop using the product, remove the batteries, and keep them away from children.
