Quick Start Guide ICON Beltpack ICON is an 8-key beltpack that works with FreeSpeak 1.9 GHz systems and connects to: · FreeSpeak Edge Base Station/Arcadia Central Station · Eclipse-HX matrix with E-IPA-HX interface card Charging the Beltpack To remove the battery, open the battery release latch and push in the direction indicated on the device. The beltpack uses a rechargeable Li-Ion battery. A dedicated drop-in battery charger can charge up to four LiIon batteries simultaneously. You can also charge the batteries using a USB C cable to any USB charger. The Beltpack Menu Using the Menu System · Configure volume and display settings for the beltpack · Read information, such as software version · Connect to the system · Connect to a Bluetooth headset · Select the audio source (wired headset, mic/speaker, BT headset, BT listen) Register Beltpack Before you use a beltpack, you must register it with the host system. You can register the beltpack: 1. By USB cable (recommended for fast and easy setup) or, 2. Register by USB cable When registering a beltpack in this way, a fixed role is automatically created for the beltpack. The beltpack can be powered on either before or after connection. USB Registration FSE Base/Arcadia: Connect a beltpack to the front of the base station using a USB A to USB C cable. The system will show 'Beltpack [ID] is now registered' in the front menu screens. USB Registration Eclipse Matrix: Connect a beltpack to the PC that is hosting the EHX configuration software using a USB A to USB C cable. Navigate to EHX > Hardware > Beltpacks and select Register via USB at the bottom of the screen. Follow the on-screen instructions. 2. Register over-the-air (OTA) You can register beltpacks remotely if they are within range of an active and registered transceiver. When you register a beltpack in this way you must create a role for it manually in the configuration software before the beltpack can connect. OTA Registration FSE Base/Arcadia 1. Navigate to CCM > Hardware > Resources and click Add Resource 2. Select Start OTA Registration OTA Registration Eclipse Matrix 1. Navigate to EHX > Hardware > Beltpacks 2. Select Enable OTA Registration at the bottom of the screen. Follow the on-screen instructions 3. Connect the Beltpack Once the host system is open for registration you can connect the beltpack: 1. On the beltpack, go to Menu > System > System Connect. Available systems are displayed in the beltpack screen. Select the required system (rotary controllers, then D key) 2. The beltpack registers to the system and connects. If the beltpack role is not fixed, you will select a role before connecting If your beltpack is already registered to a system you will be asked to confirm a disconnect before connecting to the required system.
