Common USB Connection Issues
If you are experiencing problems with your USB connection, please review the following troubleshooting steps:
- USB Connection Not Working:
- Ensure the receiver is connected to the included power adapter.
- Try connecting the transmitter to a different USB port on your PC.
- Verify that the "Power" and "Status" LED indicators on both the transmitter and receiver are illuminated (solid or blinking). If not, check the Cat cable connection.
- Attempt to connect USB devices directly to your PC without the USB extender to confirm functionality.
- USB Connection Suddenly Stops Working:
- Re-plug the USB cable connecting the transmitter to your PC.
- Reconnect the receiver using its included power adapter.
- Connect USB devices directly to your PC without the USB extender to test the connection.
- "Status" LED Indicator is Off:
- Use a new Cat cable or confirm your current cable meets specifications. Cat5E, Cat6, Cat6A, or Cat7 cables are recommended over Cat5 or flat cables.
- Ensure the total cable length does not exceed 80m/260ft.
- Check that the connectors at both ends of the cable comply with the IEEE T568B standard.
- If re-crimping connectors, follow the IEEE T568B standard.
- If using patch cables at both ends, keep their length to a minimum, ideally no more than 5m/16ft each. The combined length of patch cables and the main Cat cable should not exceed 80m/260ft.
