Functions in Detail

Powering on or off

Press the power button to power on the purifier. The machine will enter auto mode and the automatic light will illuminate. The air quality indicator will display colors while the purifier calibrates. After a 10-20 second calibration, the air quality indicator will be displayed based on the quality of the air surrounding the unit. When the purifier is running in auto mode, the fan speed will be selected automatically based on the air quality detected.

To turn off the product, press the power button again.

Auto mode

After powering on, the air purifier will enter standby mode. Press the power button to start the air purifier. To enter auto mode, press the fan speed adjustment button (labelled "auto/mode"). To manually set the fan speed, press the auto/mode button again until the unit reaches the fan speed as desired. If you continue to press this button, it will cycle through low, medium, high, and sleep. After adjusting the fan speed, the product runs continually at that speed.

When in auto mode, the purifier will automatically adjust the fan speed and air quality indicator light based on the quality of air surrounding the unit.

If indoor air humidity is high, it can trigger a poor air quality reading and may increase the fan speed. This is normal. To override, manually adjust the fan speed.

At-Home Sensor Test

One way to test if your purifier is working!

What You'll Need

  1. Your PuroAir Purifier
  2. Small towel or washcloth (non-microfiber, preferably a dark color)
  3. Baking flour, talcum powder, baby powder, or similar powder.

Prep Your Test Space

Prepare an area with at least 12 inches of clearance around the air purifier to ensure proper airflow during the test. Choose a solid surface that can be easily wiped down with a cloth after the test. Using a clean cloth, find the sensor on the back of the unit and wipe it down to ensure proper air flow.

Step 1

Place the air purifier in an open area on a hard surface with at least 12 inches of clearance around the unit.

Step 2

Plug in the air purifier to power.

Step 3

The air purifier will beep and begin an automated calibration process cycling through red, yellow, and green colors. The calibration process is complete when all of the panel buttons turn off.

Step 4

Press the power button to turn on the air purifier.

Step 5

Ensure the Auto/Mode is enabled. If not, tap the auto/mode button until it lights up.

Step 6

Locate the sensor opening on the back of the unit.

Step 7

Take a cloth or paper towel and sprinkle a small amount (no more than 1/8 teaspoon) of talcum powder or baking flour near the sensor opening, holding it approximately 3 inches away.

Step 8

Keep the cloth or paper towel even with the sensor opening and quickly slap it to spread the talcum powder or baking flour into the air. Repeat until all the substance is dispersed.

Step 9

Monitor the indicator light on the air purifier to see if it changes to yellow or red.

Step 10

If the indicator changes to yellow or red, the air purifier is working properly. The indicator should return to green within 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 11

If the indicator remains green, repeat Steps 4 through 8.

Step 12

If the indicator continues to stay green after repeating the test, please get in touch with customer service for further assistance.

By following these steps, you can confidently test your PuroAir air purifier to ensure it's doing its job. If you have any issues, our friendly customer service team is here to assist you!

Green Good 0-50 Air quality is satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk.
Yellow Moderate 51-100 Air quality is acceptable. However, there may be a risk for some people, particularly those who are unusually sensitive to air pollution.
Red Unhealthy 151-200 Some members of the general public may experience health effects; members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects.
