Installation Instruction
Unpacking and Handling
The freezer arrives packaged in a cardboard box with foam boards for protection. Transport and handle the freezer with care to avoid hazards to persons or property. Never place a freezer on its side or upside down, as this may damage or impair the refrigerated unit. Atosa is not liable for any damage or defects arising from improper handling or non-compliance with safeguards.
Side clearance for the freezer
Install the freezer in an indoor, well-ventilated area with an even, flat ground. Maintain a 3-inch (75mm) clearance on each side of the freezer for adequate air circulation.

⚠️ WARING: Electric connection must be carried out by professional and qualified persons.
The mains voltage should correspond to the freezer's voltage (115V/60Hz/1Ph). Ensure the power supply voltage is within +/-10% of the unit's rated voltage for proper operation. Plug the freezer into a grounded and properly-sized electrical outlet with appropriate overcurrent protection. Refer to the nameplate for electrical requirements. Ensure your unit has its own dedicated outlet and do not use an extension cord.
Do not cut, remove, or bypass the grounding prong.

Models MWF9010GR, MWF9013GR, and MWF9016GR have an extension door handle that needs to be installed at the user's location. The handle parts are packed in a bag inside the cabinet upon arrival.
- Install the handle frame at the front edge of the door according to existing screw holes.
- Install the door lock latch on the cabinet according to screw holes at the front of the cabinet.
- Install the handle cover on the handle frame.
Operation Instruction
Setting temperature control
For safe food storage, let the freezer run for 4 hours continuously before placing food inside. The temperature setting is adjusted by moving the thermostat axis position using a screwdriver or a coin-shaped tool. The recommended setting is position "4". Turn the axis back to its original position when articles are frozen. Avoid fast freezing for more than 4-5 hours. To decrease the temperature (colder), turn towards position "7"; to increase the temperature (warmer), turn towards position "1".
An image of the freezer's control panel, featuring a temperature dial marked from 1 (warmest) to 7 (coldest), along with indicator lights labeled 'POWER' and 'COMPRESSOR ON'.⚠️ CAUTION: Setting the temperature control to the coldest setting may cause the evaporator coil to freeze and ice up, eventually resulting in a warmer cabinet temperature.
Maintenance Instruction
Care and Cleaning
Clean the freezer periodically, generally every 30-45 days. Unplug the unit before cleaning. Use a soft cloth with a solution of warm water and mild soap to scrub the inside and outside of the cabinet. Do not use acids, chemical thinner, gasoline, or benzene for cleaning. Dry with a soft cloth. Never use water to rinse the freezer.
Defrost
Defrosting should be done if the frost on the interior walls is more than 1/4 inch thick.
Method of defrosting:
- Unplug the unit and remove all contents. After the freezer temperature rises, frost will melt or scale off.
- To speed up defrosting, place a pan of hot water into the unit and close the door. After defrosting, drain the water through the drain hole at the bottom of the cabinet, and then use a soft cloth to dry the interior walls. Plug the unit in and resume operation. Wait until the unit reaches the desired temperature before returning products to the freezer.
Remember to replace the drain plugs when defrosting and cleaning are completed. If the drain is left open, warm air may enter the freezer.
Note: Never use sharp utensils or ice scrapers to scrape off frost.

Problem or Concern | Possible Cause | Common Solution |
---|---|---|
The indicator is not on. The compressor does not start. | The plug isn't connected to the socket really. No power. | Replug it. Connect the socket with power. |
The indicator is on, but the compressor doesn't work and buzzes only. | The power voltage is <98V. | Connect a voltage-regulator (with more than 1000w capacity). |
The compressor stops a minute after start, and restarts after a few minutes, and so repeatedly. | The power voltage is >132V. | Connect a voltage-regulator (with more than 1000w capacity). |
The compressor works normally, but the temperature in the cabinet goes down too slowly. | The door is opened too frequently. The food in the cabinet is too much, and placed improperly. The frost layer is too thick. The surface of the condenser is too dirty. The door seals badly. | Reduce open times. Place foods properly, keeping space between them for ventilation of cold air. Take out foods and defrost. Stop and clean the condenser. Adjust the door seal. |
The noise is too loud. | The freezer is placed unstably. The fixing of the freezer is loose. There's contact between pipes. | Place it stably. Tighten the fixing. Separate them. |
The following are not faults:
- When the freezer is working or after it stops for a while, the refrigerant in the pipes is cycling and gives out running water sounds.
- The surface temperature of the compressor may be up to 150°F when it is working.
- The back side of the chest freezer gives out heat.
- In rainy season, the outer surface of the cabinet may have dew, which makes no defects on normal use. Just dry it with a piece of cloth.
