Installation Guide
Pilot valve CVQ
1. Product Overview and Specifications
The Danfoss CVQ is a pilot valve designed for refrigeration and HVAC systems. Key specifications include:
- Operating Temperature: Max. 50°C (120°F), Min. -30°C (-22°F)
- Enclosure Protection: IP55
- Maximum Working Pressure (PS/MWP): 17 bar / 250 psig
Document reference: 027R9626.
2. System Integration Example
This section illustrates a typical system schematic. The CVQ pilot valve is shown integrated into a system with a 24 V a.c. power supply. It connects to control units identified as PM 1 or ICS. The diagram also indicates components such as a Temperature Element (TE), Electronic Expansion Valve (EVR), and a Temperature sensor (Tr).
3. Installation Step 1: Component Attachment
This step demonstrates the initial attachment of the pilot valve. A connection port labeled 'Pg 13.5' is visible, with a specified dimension of '32mm'. The component part number is 027F0666.
4. Installation Step 2: Mounting and Torque Application
The pilot valve assembly is shown being mounted. A critical torque specification is provided: 50 Nm (equivalent to 5 kpm or 35 ft-lbs) for secure installation.
5. Valve Configuration and Connections
This view shows the CVQ pilot valve connected to a CVH component. Connections are labeled 'PM1 or ICS', indicating the interface for system control and communication.
6. Angle Adjustment
The pilot valve features an adjustable angle for flexible installation. The maximum adjustable angle is indicated as 22.5°.
7. Compliance and Safety Information
The product is UL LISTED. This listing is applicable to the CVQ products and covers common non-flammable refrigerants, including and excluding R717, as well as non-corrosive gases and liquids, depending on the sealing material compatibility. The design pressure must not be less than the value specified in Section 9.2 of ANSI/ASHRAE 15 for the refrigerant used in the system.
