Congratulations on your purchase of the Andy Summers Walking On The Moon Flanger/Filter Matrix! Over the past six decades, Andy Summers has relied on flanger effects to define his signature sound palate, enabling him to create the lush and shimmering guitar tones that made Andy Summers famous all over the world and especially beloved by guitar players.
Operating Instructions
Connect your guitar to the INPUT jack of the Walking On The Moon (WOTM) and the FLANGED OUT jack to your amp's input. Plug in the included power supply and insert its output plug into the WOTM's power jack. Press the footswitch to ensure the red LED is lit, the WOTM is now ready to play.
To get started, try the following setting:
COLOR: 12 o'clock RANGE: 9 o'clock RATE: 9 o'clock
POWER SUPPY REQUIREMENTS: Voltage: 9VDC Current: 40mA Polarity: Center-Negative This device comes equipped with an Electro-Harmonix 9.6DC-200 power supply. It requires 40mA at 9VDC with a center negative plug. Use of the wrong adapter or a plug with the wrong polarity may damage the device and void the warranty. Do not exceed 10.5VDC on the power plug. Power supplies rated for less than 50mA will cause the device to act unreliably. The Walking On The Moon also accepts 9V batteries, we recommend alkaline.

Controls and Connections
1. COLOR Knob sets the intensity of the flanger effect. As you turn COLOR clockwise, the effect becomes more pronounced, producing that classic whoosh effect flangers are famous for. Your WOTM has been set at the factory for maximum color capacity. Turning COLOR up to maximum could cause self-oscillation to occur. This is normal! The oscillation may be reduced by turning down the COLOR knob one or two notches. 2. RANGE Knob allows you to set the lower limit of the flanger sweep. A fully counterclockwise setting, where the lower limit is just below the higher limit, creates a narrow sweep effect. As you turn RANGE clockwise the flanger sweeps down further into the bass region.

3. RATE Knob controls the speed of flanger modulation. As you turn RATE clockwise, the flanger's speed increases. Higher settings of RATE give the effect a sound like vibrato. 4. FILTER MATRIX Switch when this switch is set to the right position, labeled FILTER MATRIX, the modulation waveform is disconnected from the flanger circuit, freezing the flanger and creating a matrix of filters. Turn the RANGE knob to change the filters' position and use COLOR to adjust the depth of filtering. The RATE knob has no effect when set to FILTER MATRIX mode. Proper manipulation of the RANGE and COLOR knobs will enable you to simulate the sound of chimes being played in unison with your instrument, as well as many other effects. 5. FOOTSWITCH and STATUS LED Use the footswitch to switch between bypass and effect mode. The LED is off when WOTM is in true bypass mode. When WOTM is active, the LED is lit. 6. INPUT Jack Audio input to WOTM. 7. FLANGED OUT Jack Main audio output from WOTM. All flanging and modulation effects will emanate from this jack. 8. DRY OUT Jack Secondary audio output from WOTM. DRY OUT is directly connected to the INPUT jack in all modes. 9. 9V Power Jack Attach the output plug from the included power supply to the 9V power jack. WOTM draws 40mA at 9VDC on a center-negative plug. Do not exceed 10.5VDC on the power jack. To power WOTM from a 9V battery, you must remove the 4 screws holding the bottom plate. Once the screws are removed, detach the bottom plate and connect a 9V battery. Please do not touch the circuit board while the bottom plate is off or you risk damaging a component.
