General Power Tool Safety Warnings
- Keep work area clean and well lit.
- Do not operate in explosive atmospheres.

- Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on.
- Do not overreach; keep proper footing and balance.
- Dress properly; keep hair, clothing away from moving parts.
- Ensure dust extraction and collection facilities are connected and properly used.
- Do not let familiarity breed complacency.
Power Tool Use and Care
- Do not force the power tool. Use the correct tool for the application.
- Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.
- Disconnect the plug or remove the battery pack before making adjustments, changing accessories, or storing.
- Store idle power tools out of reach of children and untrained persons.
- Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts. Have damaged tools repaired before use.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
- Use the power tool, accessories, and tool bits in accordance with instructions, considering working conditions.
- Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
Battery Tool Use and Care
- Recharge only with the specified charger.
- Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs.
- Keep battery pack away from metal objects when not in use.
- Avoid contact with ejected liquid from battery; flush with water if contact occurs. Seek medical help if liquid contacts eyes.
- Do not use a damaged or modified battery pack or tool.
- Do not expose battery pack or tool to fire or excessive temperature.
- Follow all charging instructions and do not charge outside the specified temperature range.
Service
- Have power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.
- Never service damaged battery packs. Service should only be performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.
Specific Safety Rules for Drain Cleaners
- Only grasp the rotating cable with gloves recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not allow the cutter to stop turning while the cable is turning.
- One person must control both the cable and the switch.
- Use latex or rubber gloves inside the gloves recommended by the manufacturer, goggles, face shields, protective clothing, and respirator when chemicals, bacteria or other toxic or infectious substances are suspected to be in a drain line.
- Practice good hygiene. Do not eat or smoke while handling or operating the tool. Wash hands after use.
- Only use the drain cleaner for the recommended drain sizes.
- Inspect cable for wear and damage before use. Replace worn or damaged cable.
- Do not twist, kink or over bend cables.
- Inspect the drain to be cleaned before use. Determine access points, size, length, distance to mainlines, nature of blockage, presence of chemicals.
- If chemicals are present, understand specific safety measures. Contact chemical manufacturer for information.
- Place protective covers in the work area.
- Place the drain cleaner no further than two feet from the drain opening. If greater distance is needed, extend opening with similar pipe and fittings.
- Always wear leather gloves over latex/rubber gloves to avoid entanglement.
- Always clear the area of obstructions before transporting.
- Always secure the tool and any accessories when operating on uneven or raised surfaces.
- Always operate the rotating cable in the forward direction for optimal torque. When freeing the cable from a blockage, do not run in reverse for more than a few seconds to prevent cable damage.
- Keep coin cell battery away from children.
- Use common sense and be cautious. Do not use if you do not understand instructions or feel work is beyond your capability; contact Milwaukee Tool or a trained professional.
- Maintain labels and nameplates. Contact a MILWAUKEE service facility for replacements if unreadable or missing.
- Some dust created by power activities contains chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm (e.g., lead, silica, arsenic, chromium). Work in a well-ventilated area and use approved safety equipment (dust masks).

Assembly
WARNING: Recharge only with the charger specified for the battery. Read operator's manual for specific charging instructions.
Removing/Inserting the Battery: Push release buttons to remove; slide to insert and ensure it latches securely.
WARNING: Always remove the battery pack when the tool is not in use.
WARNING: Only use accessories specifically recommended for this tool.
NOTICE: Use in recommended pipe size only to prevent damage.
Installing Chain Knocker:
- Select the proper chain knocker size for the drain capacity and application.
- Chain knockers without carbide tips are for grease and similar blockages.
- Chain knockers with carbide tips are for scale removal and roots. Avoid using on glass, ceramic, porcelain, or thin-walled pipes.
- Ensure proper collar distance for chain spread. Use supplied collar spacer.
- Exposed cable should not exceed 1/4". Use the knocker bushing for this.
- Test fit the chain knocker and collar spacer on the cable. Ensure chains are straight.
- Tighten set screws with the supplied hex wrench. Failure to secure properly can result in damage or loss of the knocker.
Telescoping Handle: Lock handle in the upright position before transporting.
Transportation: Lock handle upright. Move switch to 'O' (locked) and remove battery pack before transporting. Ensure foot pedal cord is wrapped. Clear area of obstructions.
Drain Cleaning Setup:
- Place drain snake no further than 2' from the drain. WARNING! Greater distance can cause twisting, kinking, breaking or whipping of the cable.
- Unwrap foot pedal and place to the side, ensuring cord does not tangle with cable.
Operation
Inserting Cable into Drain:
- Transport and set up the tool according to "Transportation" and "Drain Cleaning Setup" instructions.
- Pull cable from tool and feed at least 2' into the drain.
- WARNING! Always wear leather gloves over latex/rubber gloves to avoid entanglement.
- Feed cable into the drain until obstruction is reached.
- Pass the chain knocker through the blockage.
- Set the Forward/OFF/Reverse switch to the desired direction and step or kneel on the foot pedal. WARNING! One person must control both cable and foot pedal. If cable stops rotating, operator must be able to turn tool OFF to prevent damage and reduce injury.
- Gradually withdraw cable to break up blockage. If tool binds, release pedal immediately.
- Repeat steps 4-6 until drain is clear.
Removing Cable from Drain:
- Release foot pedal and allow cable to stop completely.
- Move Forward/OFF/Reverse switch to O (OFF).
- Pull cable away from the drain.
- Wipe exposed cable with a rag and feed back into the drum.
- Wash cable and drum after use (see "Cleaning" in Maintenance).

Selecting Speed: Rotate speed control dial to desired speed.
Forward/OFF/Reverse Switch: Use switch to set rotational direction. Move to arrow for forward, opposite arrow for reverse. Move to 'O' to lock.
WARNING: Always lock switch and remove battery pack before maintenance, changing accessories, or storing.
Starting and Stopping: Move switch to desired direction and step on foot pedal to start. Release pedal to stop.
Maintenance
WARNING: Always unplug charger and remove battery pack before performing maintenance. Never disassemble tool, battery pack, or charger. Contact MILWAUKEE service facility for all repairs.
Oiling the Cable: Regular oiling prolongs cable life and decreases friction. Tape funnel below cable sheath, add 1 oz. oil, run tool in reverse at lowest speed for 10 minutes.
Repairing the Cable:
- Remove battery pack.
- Secure cable to a stable platform.
- Use a cut-off grinder to cut through sheath and cable. Use auxiliary handle and two hands.
- Use a tubing cutter to cut back sheath to expose cable.
- Remove sharp edges from cable end.
Replacing the Cable:
- Remove battery pack.
- Remove "Remove to Access Cable" cover.
- Remove hairpin and clevis pin to separate cable from drive.
- Pull cable out of rubber guides.
- Route new cable through housing, noting original routing.
- Align cable and drive holes and install clevis pin and hairpin.
- Push cable into rubber guides.
- Push remaining cable into tool.
Maintaining Tool: Adopt a regular maintenance program. Inspect tool for issues. Return tool, battery pack, and charger to MILWAUKEE service facility for repair. Return for inspection after 6 months to one year. Clean battery contacts if tool does not start or operate at full power.
Wireless Communication
ONE-KEY™: This device complies with FCC Rules Part 15 and ISED-Canada license-exempt RSS standards. Operation is subject to two conditions: 1) device may not cause harmful interference, and 2) device must accept any interference received.
Internal Coin Cell Battery: Facilitates ONE-KEY™ functionality. Replace with 3V CR2032 coin cell battery. Ensure positive side faces up.
WARNING: Risk of chemical burn from coin cell battery. Keep away from children.
WARNING: Never immerse tool, battery pack, or charger in liquid.
Cleaning: Clean dust and debris from vents. Keep tool clean, dry, and free of oil or grease. Use mild soap and a damp cloth. Avoid flammable or combustible solvents.
Cleaning the Cable:
- WARNING: Always remove battery pack before cleaning.
- Flush cable with water after every use to prevent damage from sediment and drain cleaning compounds.
- Ensure electrical connections are dry before inserting battery pack.
- Always wear leather gloves over latex/rubber gloves to avoid entanglement. Dry cable completely after washing.
Repairs: Return tool, battery pack, and charger to the nearest authorized service center.

Warranty
Limited Warranty (USA & Canada): 5-year limited warranty on power tool against defects in material and workmanship. Does not cover battery packs or all power tools. Refer to separate warranties for those products. Normal wear and tear, misuse, alterations, accidents, or lack of maintenance are not covered. Contact MILWAUKEE service center for repairs. Proof of purchase required.
