- Step 5: Press END button once to go back to the previous menu. Press END button once on the main interface to switch to the SERVO display, and twice to the RECEIVE display.
Important Notes:
- For normal functions, short press PUSH to confirm. For "MODEL SEL" and "MODE TYPE", long press PUSH for 1 second to confirm.
- Sticks control channels 1-4 by default. STK-MODE can be set in PARAMETER menu.
- Two VR knob switches and two VR slider switches offer pan/tilt control and are customizable.
- The AT9S Pro has 4 two-way switches, 3 three-way switches, and a reset switch, all customizable. Refer to the detailed manual at www.radiolink.com/at9spro_manual for more.
Basic Settings
- Language Settings: Long press MODE to enter the menu. If Chinese is displayed, navigate to PARAMETER (系统设置), then change the language from Chinese (语言选择:简体) to English.
- Alarm Settings: Customize low voltage alarms for the transmitter, receiver, model battery, and RSSI. Factory defaults: Transmitter 8.6V, Receiver 4.0V, Model Battery 11.1V. Alarms trigger when voltage drops below set values. RSSI alarm is off by default and can be customized.
Alarm examples: WARNING!!! TX Low Power!, WARNING!!! Rx Low Power!, WARNING!!! Ext. Low Power !, WARNING!!! RSSI ALARM !!
R9DS Receiver
Working Modes
The R9DS receiver, using 2.4G DSSS&FHSS, supports 9 channels via PWM (Red LED) or 10 channels via SBUS&PWM (Purple/Blue LED).
1. PWM Signal Mode
Red LED indicates PWM signal output. Supports 9 channels. The R9DS receiver has labeled pins for Telemetry Connection (PRM-01/PRM-03), Channel 1 (Aileron) up to Channel 8 (Auxiliary), and CH9 (Auxiliary).
2. SBUS&PWM Signal Mode
Blue/Purple LED indicates SBUS&PWM output simultaneously for 10 channels. CH9 outputs SBUS, while CH1 outputs CH3 PWM, and CH2-CH6 output CH6-CH10 PWM.
Diagram Description: A connection diagram shows the R9DS receiver connected to a flight controller (e.g., crossflight), servos (Aileron, Elevator, Rudder), ESC, Motor, and Battery. The flight controller is also connected to a buzzer.
Switch Signal Mode: Short press the binding button (ID SET) twice within 1 second to switch modes.
Channel Settings
The AT9S Pro is a 12-channel transmitter, defaulting to 10 channels. For standard R9DS receivers, no modification is needed. For R12DS or R12DSM, select 12 channels.
Receiver Model | AT9S Pro CH-SELECT | Receiver Model | AT9S Pro CH-SELECT |
---|---|---|---|
R9DS | 10CH | R12DS | 12CH |
R6DS | 10CH | R12DSM | 12CH |
R6DSM | 10CH |
Setting steps: BASIC menu - SYSTEM - CH-SELECT. Incorrect channel selection may cause servo vibration.
Binding
AT9S Pro and R9DS are pre-bound. To bind a new R9DS receiver:
- Place transmitter and receiver about 30 cm apart.
- Power on AT9S Pro and R9DS.
- Press and hold the receiver's binding button (ID SET) for over one second. The RED LED (or Purple for SBUS/PWM) will flash, indicating binding is in progress.
- When the LED stops flashing and remains solid, binding is complete. A signal tower icon will appear on the transmitter's LCD.
Note: RadioLink transmitters are compatible only with RadioLink receivers. TBS Crossfire module connection to AT9S Pro supports TBS Crossfire receivers.
Antenna Installation and Orientation
Receiver Antenna Installment
- Test RSSI before operating models. Refer to https://www.radiolink.com/newsinfo/477894.html for testing methods.
- Replace damaged antennas promptly.
- Keep antennas straight for optimal range.
- Position antennas away from metal parts, carbon fiber (at least half inch), motors, ESCs, and other interference sources. Avoid bending.
- Handle receiver components with care to avoid vibration and high temperatures.
Transmitter Antenna Orientation
- Adjust the antenna so it does not point directly at the model during flight to maintain signal strength.
- An upright antenna offers better horizontal range (✔️ Picture 2). A horizontal antenna offers better vertical range (✔️ Picture 3). It's best to position the antenna perpendicular to the line of sight between the transmitter and aircraft.
- Ensure no obstructions between antennas during flight for maximum communication distance.
- Diagrams: Picture 1 shows a weak signal (❌) when the antenna points directly at the model. Picture 2 shows strong signal (✔️) with upright antenna. Picture 3 shows strong signal (✔️) with horizontal antenna.
RSSI Testing
RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) testing is crucial before flight to prevent signal loss.
- Power on the transmitter and receiver. Keep them about 30 cm apart with antennas straight.
- Navigate to the RECEIVE menu and check the RSSI value. A value between 0 to -30dBm is normal; closer to 0 indicates a stronger signal.
Telemetry
The R9DS receiver provides real-time telemetry for signal strength and receiver voltage. With PRM-01 or PRM-03 telemetry modules, it can also display model battery voltage, flight controller data (speed, altitude, GPS, flight mode, etc.).
- Model Battery Voltage Telemetry: Connect R9DS to PRM-01 (sold separately, supports R9DS/R12DS). Model voltage appears on the AT9S Pro screen.
- Flight Controller and GPS Telemetry: Connect R9DS to PRM-03 (sold separately, supports R9DS/R12DS) and a flight controller (e.g., crossflight, PIXHAWK, Mini Pix, TURBO PiX, APM). Displays model battery voltage, speed, climb, throttle, GPS, RSSI, flight mode, orientation, and distance.
Multiple Function Port
The AT9S Pro's simulator port on the back allows connection to various devices. Access via BASIC menu-SYSTEM-OUT to select signal output.
Simulator Port Details
The simulator port has the following pins:
- -GND: Ground
- -NC: No Output
- -VCC: Voltage Output (7.4-18V)
- -OUT: Signal Output (PPM/SBUS/CRSF)
- -IN: RSSI Signal Input
