Important Warnings and Disclaimers
⚠️ General Safety: This electric kit must be installed by a professional workshop or a suitably qualified person. Always observe the vehicle manufacturer's precautions and guidelines. Read the entire installation manual before starting any work. After installation, keep these instructions with the vehicle's service documents.
⚠️ Warranty: Any warranty claims are void if the electric kit or its components are used incorrectly or modified. Changes to design, equipment, or color, as well as errors, are reserved. All information and illustrations are non-binding.
⚠️ Vehicle Modifications: Hyundai assumes no warranty or guarantee for technical or electrical modifications or software updates carried out by the vehicle manufacturer after the initial commissioning of the electric kit, which may lead to malfunctions in the trailer socket or its peripheral equipment.
⚠️ Trailer Module: The trailer module is not diagnostic-capable.
⚠️ Driving Without Trailer: When driving without a trailer or load carrier, any adapters used must always be unplugged from the socket.
⚠️ Electrical System Safety: To avoid malfunctions and damage to the vehicle's electrical system, the negative battery terminal must be disconnected from the vehicle's battery before starting any work. Particular caution is required when working on the CAN data bus; failure to disconnect the battery can damage both the trailer module and the vehicle's control unit.

Wiring Kit Components
The kit typically includes:
- Wiring harness with connectors
- 7-pin trailer socket
- Control module (if applicable)
- Fuse holder and fuses (e.g., 10A, 15A)
- Mounting hardware (screws, clips)
- Various electrical connectors and terminals
Installation Steps
Step a: Accessing the Trunk Area
Remove trim panels in the rear trunk area of the vehicle to access connection points.
Step b: Optional Connections
Follow specific instructions for optional features or vehicle configurations.
Step c: Routing the Wiring Harness
Route the main wiring harness from the rear of the vehicle along the interior side panels, ensuring it is secured and protected from damage.
Step d: Connecting to Vehicle Electrics
Connect the wiring harness to the vehicle's electrical system, typically near the rear light clusters and potentially to the vehicle's CAN bus system. Ensure proper grounding.
Step 8-12: Detailed Connections
Diagrams illustrate the specific routing of the harness through the vehicle body and the connection to the trailer socket. Ensure the harness is properly secured and protected.
Step 13-16: Final Connections and Fuse Installation
Route wires carefully, paying attention to specific instructions regarding wire colors, especially multiple green wires. Connect the wiring harness to the vehicle's fuse box, installing the appropriate fuses (e.g., 10A, 15A) as indicated.
Smart Parking Assist System Integration
For vehicles equipped with a factory-fitted PDC (Parking Distance Control) system, the trailer wiring may require specific integration. Ensure compatibility; the system may need to be configured or may automatically disable parking sensors when a trailer is connected.
✔️ Indicates compatibility or correct connection.
❌ Indicates incompatibility or incorrect connection.
Optional Equipment
Trailer Simulator: An optional trailer simulator may be used for testing the trailer wiring system.
Supplementary Harness: An optional supplementary harness may be available for specific vehicle features.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
LED Indicators: The control module may feature LEDs to indicate system status and faults. Refer to the diagnostic function explanations for interpreting LED signals (e.g., correct voltage, lamp failure).
Lamp Substitution: In case of trailer indicator lamp failure, the vehicle's rear lights may substitute the function by flashing at the correct frequency.
Trailer Detection: The system typically detects a connected trailer, indicated by audible beeps (e.g., "beep...beep" or "1x beep") and/or dashboard indicators.
