Explore Its Real Performance
Super CCD Creates Super-High Image Quality
The FinePix 4900 Zoom features a high-performance 2.4-million pixel Super CCD sensor, offering professional quality images. Its octagonal-shaped photodiodes gather light more effectively, resulting in improved sensitivity (up to ISO 800), dynamic range, and S/N ratio. The interwoven pixel arrangement enhances both horizontal and vertical resolution, delivering image files with up to 4.3 million pixels (2400 x 1800). The Super CCD's superior image-processing algorithm ensures faithful and quick color reproduction.
Benefits of Super CCD:
- Low Noise, High Sensitivity
- High Resolution
- Faithful Color Reproduction
- Wider dynamic range
- Clear images with low noise
- High S/N
- Linear tonality
- Smooth image tones
6X Optical Zoom Lens
The camera utilizes a newly developed, large-diameter 6X Super EBC (Electronic Beam Coating) Fujinon lens. This professional-quality lens provides a focal distance equivalent to 35-210mm in a 35mm camera, with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 (f/3.1 at telephoto). It features a floating type design with ten elements in seven groups, including two aspherical lenses, and offers extremely low chromatic aberration and multi-layer coating. The lens has a five-blade rounded diaphragm mechanism with 13 f-stops, allowing for a variety of depths of field. Combined with an optional 28mm wide-angle conversion lens, wider shots are possible. Digital zooming up to 3.75X (in 640 x 480 pixel mode) further enhances magnification, providing a total magnification effect of approximately 22.5X (790mm equivalent) with the 6X optical zoom.
Extends Your Shooting Possibilities
The FinePix 4900 Zoom offers a variety of shooting modes, mimicking the operability of conventional SLR cameras:
- Auto Mode: Automatically adjusts exposure and color balance for any situation using 64-zone TTL metering and intelligent auto white balance.
- Scene Position Mode (SP): Pre-set photographic settings for specific shots like Portrait, Landscape, and Night Scene.
- Programmed Shooting Mode (P): Automatically selects shutter speeds and apertures, with options for exposure compensation.
- Shutter-priority Mode (S): Allows setting shutter speed (3 sec. to 1/1000 sec.) to control motion blur.
- Aperture-priority Mode (A): Allows setting aperture (f/2.8 to f/11) for depth of field control.
- Manual Mode (M): Offers versatile exposure settings for full creative control.
Creative Control Features:
- Manual focus: Allows focus adjustment using the focusing ring.
- Auto exposure bracketing: Takes three consecutive exposures with adjustable EV steps.
- Sharpness setting: Offers three levels to adjust subject outlines.
Motion Picture Recording Mode: Records and plays back 320 x 240 pixel video (10 frames/sec in AVI Motion JPEG format) for up to 160 seconds. It can also create an image file containing 25 index images from the motion picture.
Continuous Shooting Mode: Captures sequences of shots at 0.2 frames/sec. for up to 5 frames, ideal for fast-moving subjects.
Macro Mode: Enables close-up photography in the range of 10 - 80cm.
Intelligent Auto White Balance: Automatically ensures appropriate white balance by detecting lighting conditions, delivering accurate coloration. Manual mode offers seven settings and custom white balance for precise adjustments.
Maximize Your Creative Talents in Photography
Dazzling Speed Performance
The FinePix 4900 Zoom features an ASIC chip for high-speed processing, enabling a 2-second startup time and shooting at minimum 1-second intervals.
Electronic Viewfinder
A user-friendly electronic viewfinder displays shooting information like mode, shots remaining, shutter speed, f-stop, and exposure compensation. The "Picture-in-Picture" function allows checking focus accuracy by doubling the center image. It can also display the same image as the LCD monitor, useful in bright environments and for longer battery life.
Bright and Clear LCD Monitor
A 2-inch, low-temperature polysilicon TFT color LCD monitor with 130,000 pixels provides crisp, detailed images for subject checking indoors and outdoors.
Various Playback Modes
Playback Mode allows viewing still images and playing motion pictures on the LCD monitor or a TV via an audio/video cable. Features include Auto and Single Frame playback, 15X Playback Zoom, and a Multi-Frame function for viewing nine shots simultaneously. Images can be resized for different resolutions.
Conventional SLR-Camera Operability and Handling
Designed for SLR camera fans, the FinePix 4900 Zoom offers handling similar to conventional TTL SLR cameras with dedicated buttons for most settings. Its lightweight magnesium alloy body is compactly designed for a comfortable grip.
Expanded Versatility
The FinePix 4900 Zoom supports accessories like a 28mm wide-angle conversion lens and various filters. A hot shoe allows synchronized use of separate flash units. The camera achieves maximum sensitivity equivalent to ISO 800, enabling low-light shooting without flash.
