Quick Start Guide
Product Introduction
The Kasa smart dimmer switch automatically turns on and dims lights, saving effort and electricity bills.
Wire Your Switch
- Turn off the circuit breaker. Remove the old wallplate and label the Ground and Neutral wires. Disconnect wires from the old switch.
- Identify Line and Load wires. Use a voltage detector to find the energized wire (Line wire) after turning on the circuit breaker. Turn off the circuit breaker again and label the Line and Load wires.
- Connect the wires to the smart dimmer switch as shown in the diagram. Ensure proper connections for Line, Load, Neutral, and Ground wires.
- Mount the switch. Align the switch with the mounting holes and secure it with screws.
- Attach the wallplate. The wiring is now complete.

Set Up Your Switch
STEP 1: DOWNLOAD APP
Get the Kasa Smart app from the App Store or Google Play.
STEP 2: SET UP
Tap the button in the app, select Smart Switches, and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your smart dimmer switch.

Appearance
The switch features a Dimmer Button, Brightness Indicators, On/Off Button, LED Status indicator, and a Reset/Restart button.
Button Explanations
- Dimmer Buttons: Decrease or increase the brightness.
- Reset: Press and hold for approximately 5 seconds to reset Wi-Fi while keeping other settings. Press and hold for approximately 10 seconds to restore the switch to factory default settings.
- Restart: Press to restart your switch.
LED Status
- Solid amber: Starting up.
- Blinking amber & green: Ready for setup.
- Blinking green: Connecting to Wi-Fi.
- Solid green: Connected to Wi-Fi.
- Blinking amber: Disconnected from Wi-Fi.
- White: Device resetting.
- Light fixture is off.

Safety Notice
CAUTION: High Voltage - Disconnect power supply before servicing.

- Ensure power is off at the circuit breaker before any work. Use a non-contact voltage tester to confirm power is off.
- Install and use the Smart Switch in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC) or local electrical codes. Consult a qualified electrician if unsure.
- Do not install with wet hands or on wet/damp surfaces.
- Install only in a suitable UL Listed outlet box (dimensions: H > 2.95 in./75 mm, W > 1.81 in./46 mm, D > 2 in./51 mm).
- Tighten terminal screws to 13 lbf-in.
