Taking Pictures

- Once batteries are loaded, press the power button to turn the camera on. The lens barrel will extend, and the flash charging lamp will blink and then light up, indicating the flash is ready.
- Hold the camera, look through the viewfinder to compose your shot, and press the shutter button. Note: The shutter button cannot be pressed while the flash is charging.
- When the film ejection sound stops, grasp the edge of the ejected film and remove it from the camera.
- After taking photos, turn off the camera by pushing the lens barrel back in.
If the camera malfunctions, remove the batteries while the power is on, then reinsert them to reset the camera.
Taking Photos in Selfie Mode
To switch from selfie mode to normal shooting mode, turn the camera off by retracting the lens barrel, then turn it back on.
Taking a Photo of Yourself
Use the selfie mirror on the front of the camera to frame your shot:
- Pull out the lens barrel until the "SELFIE ON" mark appears.
- Hold the camera securely with both hands. Position your face approximately 11.8 to 19.7 inches (30-50 cm) away from the lens.
- Confirm your composition in the selfie mirror, then press the shutter button to take the photo.
Taking a Closeup
Get closer to your subject for a detailed shot:
- Pull out the lens barrel until the "SELFIE ON" mark appears.
- Align the camera so the mark in the viewfinder is slightly above and to the right of the subject's center, then press the shutter button to take the photo.
Precautions for Taking Photos
Precautions for Holding the Camera
- Ensure your finger or the camera strap does not obstruct the flash light sensor, AE light sensor, flash lampface, lens, or film ejection slot.
- When taking horizontal photos, position the camera so the flash lampface is at the top.
- Avoid taking photos in locations where flash photography is prohibited.
- Do not grip the lens barrel while holding the camera, as this may negatively affect photo quality.
- Look through the viewfinder to ensure the mark appears in the center.
- Be careful not to touch the lens when pressing the shutter button.
Distances for Normal Mode and Selfie Mode
- Normal Mode: Take photos at a distance of at least 19.7 inches (0.5 m) from the subject. The effective flash range is up to approximately 8.9 ft (2.7m).
- Selfie Mode: Use for close-ups when the camera is closer than 19.7 inches (0.5 m) from the subject. This mode is suitable for shots within a range of 11.8 to 19.7 inches (30-50 cm).

Handling
Handling of Camera
- The camera is a precision instrument. Avoid moisture, drops, and shocks. Keep away from sand, dirt, and dust.
- Check the strength of any commercially available strap, especially those for mobile devices, as they are designed for lighter equipment.
- If not using the camera for an extended period, unload batteries and store in a cool, dry place away from dust and moisture.
- Clean the viewfinder window with an air blower or a soft cloth.
- Do not use solvents like thinner or alcohol for cleaning.
- Do not leave the camera in a closed vehicle, hot place, humid area, or beach for extended periods.
- Moth repellent gases (like naphthalene) can affect the camera and film. Avoid storing with mothballs.
- Operating temperature range: 41°F to 104°F (5°C to 40°C).
- If the camera malfunctions, remove and reinsert batteries to reset.
Handling of INSTAX Mini Film and Photos
Refer to FUJIFILM INSTAX Mini film instructions for details.
- Store film in a cool place, away from extreme heat (e.g., closed vehicles).
- Use film as soon as possible after loading.
- If film was stored in extreme temperatures, allow it to acclimate to normal temperature before use.
- Use film before the expiration date.
- Avoid X-ray exposure (e.g., airport baggage inspection). Carry film in carry-on luggage.
- Avoid exposing photos to bright light; store in a cool, dry place.
- Do not puncture, tear, or cut film. Do not use damaged film.
- Do not cut or disassemble film packs; they contain caustic alkali paste. Keep away from children and pets. Avoid contact with skin and clothing.
- If paste contacts skin, wash immediately with plenty of water. If it contacts eyes or mouth, wash and seek medical attention. Alkalinity weakens about 10 minutes after photo ejection.
