Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are the benefits of the Hydro Aeration system?
- IMPROVED WATER CIRCULATION AND FILTRATION
- IMPROVED WATER CLARITY
- INCREASED NEGATIVE IONS AT THE WATER SURFACE
What is the pool liner made of?
Laminated PVC which is made with 3 separate layers of material for extra strength and durability - two outer layers of heavy gauge PVC laminated to an inner layer of polyester mesh for extra reinforcement.
Should I leave my pool outside in snow or freezing winter?
No. INTEX above-ground pools will collapse under the weight of ice and snow, and the PVC walls will be damaged.
Winterizing your Above Ground Pool
Your pool can be easily emptied and stored in a safe place during the winter. However, many people choose to leave their pool up year round. In areas where freezing temperatures occur, there is risk of ice damage. It is recommended to drain, disassemble and store the pool in a safe place when temperatures drop below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. See "How To Drain Your Pool" section.
Clean pool water thoroughly. If it is an Easy Set Pool, ensure the top ring is properly inflated.
Remove the skimmer (if applicable) or any accessories attached to the threaded strainer connector. Replace the strainer grid if necessary. Ensure all accessory parts are clean and completely dry before storage.
Plug the Inlet and Outlet fitting from the inside of the pool with the provided plugs (for 10' and 12' sizes). Close the Inlet and Outlet Plunger Valve (for 15', 18', and 24' sizes).
Remove the ladder (if applicable) and store it in a safe place. Ensure the ladder is completely dry before storage.
Remove the hoses that connect the pump and filter to the pool.
Add appropriate winter chemicals. Consult your local pool dealer, as recommendations vary greatly by region.
Cover the pool with an Intex Pool Cover. IMPORTANT: THE INTEX POOL COVER IS NOT A SAFETY COVER.
Clean and drain the pump, filter housing, and hoses. Remove and discard the old filter cartridge, but keep a spare cartridge available for the next season.
Bring the pump and filter parts indoors and store them in a safe, dry area, preferably heated.
STORING POOL FOR WINTER
After draining the pool, dry the pool liner completely (100%). Sprinkle talcum powder on the liner to prevent the vinyl from sticking together and to absorb any residual moisture.
Roll the pool liner to avoid creases and move it to the storage area. Place it in its original carton if you still have it.
Keep all small parts together with the filter pump, manual, and pool. Store them in an area that will remain at room temperature throughout the storage season.
How long does it take to fill the pool with water?
Two or more hours, depending on pool size, hose size, and water pressure. Observe the fill-up process for several minutes to ensure the pool is filling evenly and the water surface remains level.
What is the best way to store the filter pump and/or the saltwater system for the winter?
Remove and clean all components, including hoses, with fresh water and dry them thoroughly. Coat the seals, O-rings, and washers with petroleum jelly (refer to the Owner's Manual for detailed instructions). Store the device and accessories in a dry, indoor storage area, ideally between 32°F (0°C) and 104°F (40°C). The original packaging can be used for storage.
What is a GFCI outlet?
GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) is a device designed to protect people from serious injury due to electric shock.
GFCIs constantly monitor the electricity flowing within a circuit. If there is a slight difference between the electricity flowing into the circuit and that returning, the GFCI will rapidly shut off the current.
The advantage of using a GFCI is its ability to detect even minor variations in current flow through an electrical product, including amounts too small to trigger a fuse or circuit breaker. GFCIs operate quickly, offering protection against severe electric shocks and electrocution, whereas most common circuit breakers are too slow to interrupt the flow of electricity effectively.
